The owner was our server. The experience was emotional that resulted in giving a her hug. Who does that?!? Yes, us! I can't even pronounce the dishes we tried and ended up speechless. The balance of taste and goodness was outspoken! We started with the poached egg dish and basically licked the plate clean when nobody was looking. You could tell it was homemade as you tasted each ingredient that hugged your tastebuds with the time and passion it took to develop this dish. I had a chicken dish and he had the fried ball dish. Owner was responsive to allergies to keep us safe. Glad we ordered a bottle from the carefully selected wine list to partake from as we took this culinary journey. The ambience was terrific. It was small, but not cramped. We arrived after the dinner rush. The owner could have rushed us but actually appeared to enjoy having us there! It was closing time so we ordered dessert as a carry out because we were so full, but didn't want to miss out on dessert. The baklava piece could have been bigger, which is my only comment for improvement. I can't wait to be in the area again to try more. I hope the restaurant continues to be successful. Didn't really have much flavor, might be better tried hot. Got the Hash braised meatballs and sauteed leek over hand cut chopped fries - chose my egg to be scrambled. It was PACKED with flavor. I also added hot sauce on the side which is their homemade sauce. 50 cent charge. The waiter warned us it was spicy, but I didn't think so. It was good flavor though and while the dish didn't need anything else, I love hot sauce with eggs so I thought it was a nice addition. For dessert I had to get the Baklava. It's a little different than noted on the menu as the waiter said they were trying it with sauce and a type of yogurt on top. I forget all the details, but boy was I glad I listened to our waiter and got it. It was AMAZING! I could have eaten a dozen of them! It was just a bit hard to cut, but it was so good. This is a nice little place and I can't wait to come back and try dinner!! It's small inside but it's clean and set up nicely with enough tables and counter top seating if you choose. I think this might be 21+ as we were asked if we were both over 21 when we came in and then I heard him ask the gentleman that came in after us. So keep that in mind if coming and thinking about bringing kids.

The multiple locations make it easy to stop by or order ahead for pickup from anywhere in the city. This weekend we got a strawberry guava quesito; blueberry, fig jam, and brie pastry; and a vanilla cheese danish. Literally all incredible! I've never had anything bad. These are some talented pastry chefs! Each location has its own cute vibe and are all so perfect for the area they are in. A must try!

We were able to grab a small conference room and work while we enjoyed our drinks and lunch. I started with a dirty chai, which hit the spot. And then I got the Chicken Pesto Panini, made with tomato, spinach, avocado and mozzarella cheese, served on rosemary focaccia bread. I got it without the onion. This sandwich was large, and I can see it being a great compliment to a workout. The cafe area seemed packed on the Friday afternoon I visited. It looks like a working space as much as a gym cafe. The moment I walked in the doors of Fire & Ice I knew Yelp did me good! The space is bright with a modern farmhouse feel to it. There's a fireplace, lounge seating, tables and chairs, and even a bar area (that's where I decided to sit). The ladies behind the counter were nice and gave me some recommendations. I went with their banana bread latte with oat milk and one of their biscuit sandwiches with egg and American cheese. Both were absolutely delicious and I would order again. I'll add that the restroom was clean, but the wifi wasn't that great. I ended up using my hotspot while I was there. This place is also women-owned and totally gluten free. Seriously, I had no idea until a friend told me a few days later. They're clearly a lot of things right!

There are a variety of tables, also some comfy corner chairs. You order at the counter then they'll bring food to you. We all got (plain) coffee. There's a small sugar station on the end of the counter, but you have to ask for cream. I also told a staff member none of us had been there before, and asked were there coffee refills (since the rest was specialty coffee drinks) or do we pay? She said we can have one refill if we come up. My friends got gluten free egg/biscuit sandwiches. The hubs got a crepe with strawberries, bananas and more in it. I ordered the Galette Bretonne - which is described as "a savory light Buckwheat crepe with City ham, Gruyere cheese, with sunny side up egg" and also comes with a side salad. Our food came fairly quickly. The crepe was visually pretty. The biscuit sandwiches looked like they had nice fluffy biscuits (and, gluten free!) - but they were on the small side (smaller than an egg mcmuffin). My galette looked nice but not like the photo (see pics of mine & one from their web) - and the egg inside was well done, definitely not sunny side up or even medium. I don't mind harder cooked eggs, but the whole effect was very dry, so I went to the counter to ask for some syrup. The server told me that he would have to charge me for it. I said fine, yes please, because my dish is so dry it's unedible without it. So he went back in the kitchen and did bring me out a small side dish of syrup (see also pic of that, for size). I had my credit card ready, but he said "this one's on me." I thanked him and sat down to eat. ... and yes, that syrup was just the trick to make the dish delicious! So this is the thing that makes a whole experience "meh" as opposed to "really nice": Between me & my hubs, our food and plain coffees were $42. (My friends paid separately for theirs.) For that price and just counter service, if a guest asks for a small side of syrup for the food, there should not be a side charge. I think the server who gave it to me realized that (but I would have paid it anyway because the meal was just too dry without it) ... But here's the thing - there was another staff member at the counter when my server gave me that little side of syrup. She heard him say "no charge this time," and her expression absolutely changed, and she looked mad that he did not charge me, and like she was about to say something (but didn't). Guess what? I absolutely saw that. And I totally feel like she was not only mad, but also that he might get reprimanded for it. (Might I add, we were also there when it was NOT busy at all, so there was nothing about the atmosphere that was rushed or hectic - although that souldn't matter, either.) And yes, of course when I went back to the table, I relayed that story to my other 3 companions. A little (little!) customer service goes a long way. I had the chorizo tacos and they were soooo good. The potatoes with it are wonderful. If you are getting there in the early afternoon, I would say that the coffee that you serve yourself is not hot, but not discounting stars for that.
