Truly professional and excellent massage. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and nice and welcoming. I am quite active in sport and I can't imagine keeping my body in tune without them! read more

Ivy and Vivian did an amazing job, taking their time and working through every spot, especially the areas with the most tension. Their technique completely relieved all the stress and tightness in my body. I would definitely go back. read more

This is my go-to place for massages. I have had massages from several different massage therapists and they have all been good. Rebekah, however, is my favorite. Her massage skills are good; she is very attentive to pressure and direction; and her personality is warm and caring - which adds to the nurturing aspect of the experience. Pro Tip for those unfamiliar with Asian massage tipping culture: the massage itself is relatively inexpensive (compared to a "Western" massage), however it is customary to tip at least 30% to the massage therapist. That is simply what is expected, so factor it into the price of the massage. I mention this only because I have seen other reviews for here (and at other places) where people got a massage and thought that their 20 % tip was a good one, only to see or hear disappointment on the faces of those receiving what was intended to be a good tip. There is a different cultural expectation and practice at play here. I recommend that you temporarily let go of your typical US thinking about tips (e.g., they are entirely optional; 20% is a great tip), in order to be on the same page as your provider and everyone working at the establishment. I didn't mean to go off so much about the differences tipping culture! I just happened to notice this in one of the other reviews before I wrote this and realized I have seen this come up many times in reviews. read more

Located near el Cerrito del Norte plaza, easy lot parking, clean, simple Chinese reflexology style massage. Courteous service and affordable prices, $60/hr (but heavier tip is appreciated). I liked that they paired me with a same/sex masseuse and asked me what pressure I preferred. Bonus for speaking mandarin. I run cold and the room temperature felt on the colder side to me but the blankets helped and the hot stones were surprising and a nice touch. read more

The massage itself was great and left me feeling relaxed, but I didn't like how much they pressured me to tip. They seemed to undervalue the amount I gave and acted like it wasn't enough. They were speaking in their language and acted shocked that we gave the tip we gave. Then they insisted that we should give more. I would not go back to them. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Must go!! Yes this buisness is a legit massage provider, Rebbeca and Gina are great at thier craft. If you like a deep tissue massage ask for the "Back walking" everyone at Sunny Day is very talented, and continually learning.. You can't go wrong here. Peace read more

Great place for a massage. Very clean rooms and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this place.

My friend and I have been coming here for the last couple of months. We booked a couple massage although we're not a couple and I found it to be relaxing. They were all speaking Mandarin and although I don't speak (my friend does), it sounded like aunties speaking/gossiping with each other and I found it to be comforting. My friend was holding court and was talking about where she went to school and what kind of job she has now. I only know this because she didn't have the translation for computer science and engineer. The hot stones were very pleasant. Although the beds were warmed, the ambient air was not that warm but they did provide more towels and sheets than last time. It might just be the new Bay Area weather for winter. The massages are priced very reasonably by comparison to a lot of spa treatments around here. I'll be going back next month as I need to work out a lot of garbage that usually accumulates in my lower back. read more

1000/10 recommend! This was my first massage and i was kinda nervous, i am 6 months pregnant. They were amazing! Very sweet and respectful. I got a 60 minute body massage it was amazing! I will definitely be coming back once a week! Everything was very clean and sanitized! read more

Sunny Day Spa - Massage Near Me - El Cerrito, California

I was at an event at the restaurant next door and happened to find this place on Yelp. I have intense hip pain, and my back was aching. After a 60 minute massage , I am feeling so much better! Clean, friendly, and the deep tissue massage was as good, if not better than, my "regular' place that charges twice as much. read more

Good spot without breaking the wallet. If you just want to relax, this is a good spot. Call and make the appt now!

Came here twice for 90 minute massages and thoroughly enjoyed the massages both times. I had Rebekah and she was very nice and had a great technique, however I did not really like her comments about my body being very nice multiple times. Felt a bit weird, even though I know she was just being friendly. The prices are very cheap for the bay area and that was a huge draw for me. It's definitely not a ritzy massage place or resort type place. It's in a strip mall. But don't let that detract from the quality of the massage. The first time I went, the massage was probably one of the best massages I've had. The second time around was good but not as good, especially because she was about 10 minutes late and I was just laying there for what felt like forever. They do know how to get in deep but make sure you specify your pressure preference. I would've appreciated if she asked me before the massage if I had any injuries or if I wanted anything focused on, but I had to inform her myself because I've had multiple massages and know what I need to do. The addition of the hot stones was very nice but she kept going and coming in and out of the room multiple times which ate away at my time. The place is pretty clean but I didn't really like how loud it was from my room. My partner came with me the second time around and I could hear the conversation in his room next door, even the back slapping was audible. The staff speaks broken English so it's harder to communicate. It's a bit awkward how the therapists wait at the front for you to tip them. I prefer tipping just at the front desk with a receptionist because it's less awkward but that's just me. read more

Convenient, everyone is friendly, and the place is clean. The massages, deep tissue, Swedish and hot stone, are excellent. I am a regular customer. read more

Enjoy thoroughly of my entire 90min deep tissue message with Rebekah! Though it was my first visit at this place, I felt warm and welcome like I was a regular customer. Excellent services that I wasn't quite expecting for a Friday evening if I'm completely honest. Rebekah was tentative to my needs and she made sure to check in with me with the pressure at various regions. The rooms are neat and the place feels clean. What made me feel comfortable was also the sign on the wall that says "The spa does not offer sexual devices!". Will be back for sure! read more

While I read a few comments about aggressive tipping, I didn't think much of it. Little did I know that I would become a victim. When I tried to open the door it was locked and that was when they asked for tips. That other guy in the reviews was right. It felt like we were being held for ransom. But they did do a good job massaging. It was just an uncomfortable situation because of the tipping. read more

Great convenient location and great spa. This is my 3rd time here, and I've had a different masseuse each time. All are very skilled and give great tissue massages. Rebecca is great in particular, she was very great about asking if the pressure was good and was very polite during the session. She also readjusted my wrists and ankles so it was nearly a chiropractic session too! I love this spa. Thank you Sunny Day for a relaxing time! read more

Typical Asian massages that is straight to the point. If you like soft and relaxing massage this isn't the place for you. If you like deep tissue then yes! Like many others, I asked for Steve and he studied massage techniques from china using traditional style focusing on pressure point. He combines Thai and Chinese style in his massages with strong pressure and stretches. He also steps on your back and can crack your back- for those who haven't tried it please do! Back stepping has been around for a long time and it's like a Chiro appointment all in one. $50 for an hour- remember to tip!!! They work 7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day. They are doing amazing work! read more

Sunny Day Spa - Nov 2020 menu prices - Massage Near Me - El Cerrito, California

read more

(Edit) (The 1hr massage is $50.00) the 10 dollar tip made it 60.00. With COVID-19 amongst us , it is pretty foreign to visit massage business. We are worried about sanitation, customer service , employee cleanliness etc. The Sunny Day Spa sits in the Del Norte Plaza. ( Potrero Ave). At first glance , the outside appearance isn't aesthetically pleasing. Between sitting between a liquor store and random stores , it doesnt give the feeling of relaxing. My spouse surprised me with a 1hr deep tissue massage. The massage wasn't relatively expensive. It only totaled to $60 bucks. The front desk was pretty clean. I am just not a fan of how dark it can be during the evening. The service personnel check temperature and offer sanitizer. Massage room looks clean. No weird smells , sheets seemed sanitized. The only issue with the room was the condition of the body oil. It was just a random bottle of oil with no label. They should let the customer know what they are using in case of allergies. My deep tissue was a little rough but needed. My female masseuse deep tissue was a 7/10. I enjoyed the pressure on my back mostly. She was diligent on asking if I was okay throughout the session. Both sides were massaged thoroughly. The massage also included a hot stone treatment. The issues here were , the slapping of the legs were a little to hard and not relaxing at all. She didn't wash her hands in between . She went from rubbing oil all over my body and now my face is being touched . Overall , I would give my experience an 8/10. I would go back if I needed a quick massage. read more

Got a 1.5 hr massage from LinNa. I usually only go to a couple of places but thought I'd try this place out. Was not really expecting much so I was surprised the massage was pretty good. Masseuse was really working on the knots in my shoulders and upper back. Usually my calves are sore from being worked on and it goes back to normal. But after almost 18 hrs they are still sore (I take it as a good thing?) Would definitely come back for more massages. Pricing is not updated in the pictures. $93 for 90 minutes (excluding tip) which is a great price. read more

This is a wonderful place! So clean, professional, and relaxing. You can't go wrong here!!

Great Experience and felt wonderful after my massage! Totally recommend to anyone to experience relaxation

I had two massages from therapists at Sunny Day Spa and both were great and just what I needed. The first massage was very relaxing , the work on my neck and head put me to sleep for awhile. I also loved the hot stones. The second time I needed some deeper work due to low back muscle spasms. from a recent car accident. Again, I felt much better after the treatment . Everyone I met at Sunny Day Spa was friendly and the rooms are warm and clean. read more

I came here a few months ago and since have had consistent back pain that u never had before. My massage therapist did not seem to be experienced. She was very very rough and j had to tell her on multiple occasions to lighten the pressure to no avail. I have had to go to the doctors and acupuncture to get this rectified and am still in excruciating pain. What was meant to be a self-care day has become months of agony and additional costs. Do not come here. read more

I came here with a friend and we both agreed massages were just okay. My massage was relaxing but I didn't think my masseuse was particularly skilled. I've had infinitely better massages over the years. Very straightforward treatment but nothing to write home about. The place is clean and tidy. They have a lot of parking. I'm leaving 2 stars because a.) I did not appreciate being pressured to leave a larger tip; b.) my masseuse stepped out of the room for a good 10 minutes to deal with an unruly customer at the front; c.) the disruption and loud voices didn't exactly contribute to a relaxed setting. read more

There are two worlds of massage parlors - the expensive one where they know the names of all your muscles, and play soothing new age music, and the other one, in which Sunny Day and its brethren reside, the ones where they have to put up flyers on the walls emphasizing the lack of sexual services. Tbh, I'm down with the value for money ratio at the latter, but it's always a crap shoot, if you're going to get a quality massage or no. Without a command of Chinese to more precisely guide your masseuse, I'd say you'll probably get the one-size-fits-all experience. But you get it for half the price of Universe 1 places. read more

I Always receive good attention and service I recommend the place , all the people are nice and friendly they know how to take care of you .

The owners of Sunny Day Spa really care about their customers' well-being. They are very experienced therapists who can do very deep tissue and work hard to relieve your pain. The space is clean and well-maintained and you cannot beat the value for the quality. Highly recommend! read more

This spa is wonderful! Very clean and staff all wear masks. The massage worked all the knots out of my neck and shoulders. I left here feeling great! This is the best massage I've ever had from an establishment that does foot and body massage! I've had a lot of pain in my shoulder, my back, my buttocks, and hip. I had Ella. Absolutely love this place! Steve and his staff were able to accommodate me and my 2 friends at 6p on a Monday night. After a long period of closing due to COVID, this place is reopened and ready to make your day memorable with an amazing massage! When I had my massage, it was the best I have had yet, and I went to several massage parlors for many years before arriving here. I chose a 1-hour massage with Steve, where I not only got your classic deep tissue massage, but also hot stone massage and muscle stretching and spinal realignment. Think bone cracking relief. This place gives you the works! If you are looking for a place that goes above and beyond in their service and attention to your massage needs, this is the place to go! The staff also speaks Mandarin, for those who are like me with limited Cantonese skills. Regarding covid measures, the staff wears masks and there are hand sanitizers in the facility for you to use to stay safe. You also get your own room for the massage, or come with a friend and share a room together as they have two-bed massage rooms too. This place is open 7 days a week from 9:30a to 9:30p. Stop on by! read more

Definitely recommend this place!! I went in last minute due to hurting my back at work and needing to get all my knots out before I can go back to work. Sunny Day Spa was the ONLY place that was able to take me in right away! Steve was great!!! It was my first time getting a professional massage and he made me feel comfortable and was very good at what he does! I told him where I was feeling pain and he focused more on that area. He massaged my back, neck, head, arms, legs, and feet! Plus , hot stones! And he offered me water once he finished! Such great service! He only charged me $50 but I gave him a tip due to the great work! Thank you Steve!! I will definitely be coming back like I promised!! read more

Sunny Day Spa - Front of location - Massage Near Me - El Cerrito, California

I first came to Gina because of tension build up in my shoulders and back. She was able to accommodate me the same day, and the location is accessible with plenty of parking. The sitting is warm, clean, beautiful and relaxing. I've been revisiting since. She's attentive with her client's needs. She always addresses the area of focus I request and asks if I need more work on anything before turning me over. She's able to help me relax my tensed up muscles and made sure throughout that pressure is right. She's become my go-to masseuse that I highly recommend. read more

Have had many excellent massages from Gina, Rebecca and most recently Ella (although her english is minimal). Nothing but positive things to say. Friendly, warm staff, decent prices ($60 for 60 min), with hot stones complimentary. Place is nothing to write home about, and location is boring basic strip mall. But service and price are excellent, place is simple but clean, so I keep coming back. This is my current "go to" spot. read more

I have come here a handful of times now and always leave feeling great. Rebecca is super nice and friendly but also has strong hands that work wonders on tight spots and knots. She applies just the right amount of pressure to work out the tension, while still ensuring I am comfortable throughout the session. Great place with reasonable prices. read more
