This place is a blessing to the children and parents who are lucky enough to find it. I cannot say enough good things about the care my daughter received here for six years in morning and afterschool care, as well as summer camp. In fact, my daughter hopes to return to help out as a summer "counselor" as soon as she is old enough. She loved every moment she spent at Sunny Days and has made lifetime friends there - including Ms. Amy. The owner is a wonderful woman who will love your child and teach him or her to be a good person with good values and respectful behavior. She treats each child with respect and love, and she provides them with fun activities, moral lessons, and super fun field trips (field trips during the summer only). The raptor center visits; the kids go golfing, skating, swimming, etc. There are family nights that show movies, or my personal favorite - Bingo Night - with fantastic cash prizes!! :) As far as payment goes, I was never asked to pay anything upfront other than the fall registration fee and the summer activity fee (both are very reasonable and parents are notified well ahead of time when they are due). Further, Ms. Amy always worked with me when I was financially strained. My daughter's happiness and care were more important to her than me being able to pay on time. Ms. Amy always treated me and my child like beloved family members. She is someone I respect and think of as an angel that God put in my path. I cannot imagine her being rude. I can imagine her being too busy to come to the phone during times she is taking care of children. I never saw anything but excellent expectations and behaviors exhibited by her staff as well. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Sunny Days and Ms. Amy and her staff. My son went to Sunny Days from K-7th grade afterschool and went to summer camp there as well. I trust Sunny Days like I trust my own family. They cover all the bases when it comes to safety for these kids! In the summer, they take field trips, go roller skating, bowling, swimming, go to lunch, do arts and crafts, etc. At the end of the summer, they always have an "awards banquet" and a photo gallery that includes pics of all the kids during summer camp. During the school year, there is homework time which is a great help for busy moms!! They also have planned activities outside or in the gym to keep the kids active. Sunny Days had a dance with a DJ and the kids had so much fun!! Sunny Days also had family night where everyone was invited to come play bingo, enjoy food and friendship. They offered doughnuts and coffee on Mother's day and Father's day. And the list goes on. I think of Ms Amy as family and to this day, my son still wants to stop in and see her (and staff). My son was not the easiest kid, he needed attention and direction and redirection, but he respected Ms Amy and knew what was expected of him. Sunny Days always kept me informed and kept an open line of communication with me regarding my son. I give Sunny Days my highest recommendation for child care! I cant thank Sunny Days enough for their part in raising my son, as most of our kids' time is spent at school and aftercare and that's why it is so important that you chose the right facility for your children! read more

From the first minute I talked to the owner, Amy, I knew this was a place I needed to know more about. This was by far the best decision I could've made for summer care for my son. Mrs. Amy is extremely loving to the children and also makes sure everyone (including the staff) is aware of the rules and treats everyone with complete respect. Respect with Teachers to the kids and kids to the teachers. I was completely comfortable with my son going on field trips with Sunny Days and the exciting competitions, games, and activities each day made the summer amazing. This was the first year my sons have not been at the same place as I am and I was 100% comfortable with him at SD. Whenever I had a questions, the staff was quick to answer anything I needed. The last day of summer camp was tough on both me and my son bc we would not see Mrs. Amy and the other teachers on a daily basis. Sunny Days is the best Daycare in the Charlotte area. When my son was 6 years old and of a very tender heart I researched 6 local daycare's and interviewed 3 in person --- 2 times. One was awful when I went back the second time (surprise visit), one continued to show me and talk about how great their facilities were (they were awesome). However, ONLY Ms. Amy at Sunny Days -- she was the only one out of six that consistently both times asked me lots of questions about my child. We discussed how Sunny Days could be a good fit and how our church could be a good fit. Her heart was in it for my son. Ultimately I chose Sunny Days. My son's transition to daycare went very smoothly - they were loving and understanding. She shows and teaches respect to and between the children. It is safe and fun and creates long lasting memories. This daycare is so awesome that many children (and I believe about 7000 have grown up in Sunny Days over the many years) go back as Summer Helpers when they grow up. read more

Our oldest daughter has been attending summer camp with Amy and her staff for the past two years and will continue to do so. As soon as our youngest daughter is of age, she will also spend her summers at Sunny Days! Amy came highly recommended to us from friends and others with opinions that we care deeply about. The staff is meticulously vetted and could not be a better representation of Amy and her beliefs of how individuals should guide and care for children. We are very serious when it comes to teaching and instilling values in our child to live her life the right way. Our son just finished his second Summer at Sunny Days and we can't say enough good things about it! We moved about 35 minutes away just before it was time for him to start Summer Camp this past Summer and explored other options. After talking with our son he decided he wanted to stay at Sunny Days because "Ms. Amy was so nice." No, the center isn't new but it is also not dirty! The children have everything they could ever ask for and Ms. Amy always has the best interest of the children at heart. Ms. Amy appreciates her staff and children so much that she cried while giving her speech at the award ceremony at the end of the Summer. This is a great place for kids to learn responsibility and respect in a safe and fun environment. Miss Amy is great at letting the kids be themselves but keeps them inside the lines of self responsibility and accountability. If you are looking for a baby sitter to coddle your child's every whim this is NOT the place for you. If you want a place where your children will have fun while learning about themselves and how to interact with other children in a socially acceptable way and understand there are consequences for bad behavior this is definitely the place for you. My husband and I have nothing but great things to say about Amy and her wonderful staff. I was looking for a place to send my kids after school because both my husband and I work full time. I started asking around and this facility kept popping up in conversation. So, I called. That was it. My kids went to Sunny Days for about 6 years. They loved it. Not only was it a great place to go after school. They went during the summer as well. They met great friends and had a blast every summer they went! The owner, Ms Amy, is awesome. She loves the kids BUT she makes sure everyone follows the rules and treats everyone with respect. My son has been attending Sunny Days for the past several years. He has been to both the afterschool program and for summer camp. Mrs. Amy and her staff are wonderful. The kids not only have a blast playing in the gym and outside on the massive playground, but they also learn respect and responsibility. The afterschool program allows the children to do their homework, with the help of the teachers if needed and they also encourage reading. I attended sunny days as a child and I now work there. Sunny days is by far the best daycare around. Ms amy and her employees are the most caring care takers around. All of the children are treated like family. And I know for a fact that the children that attend sunny days love every aspect of sunny days. The gym is by far the kids favorite part. The children are taught life lessons, while still being a child. Your child is NEVER EVER belittled. Ms amy is the best owner and she knows exactly how to take care of children. Sunny Days is like family! The owner (Amy) and her awesome crew treat my boys like they would their own. I wish I could give higher than 5 stars. My oldest has gone to after school and camp for several years and my youngest was so excited to be old enough to go to camp this summer. My kids are already excited about next summer's camp! Sunny Days is the happiest place on earth! Says my son and every other child that I know that attends Sunny Days. Amy and her staff love the children and put the kids first! Summer camp is amazing and you they keep the kids busy all summer long! After school : my favorite part about after school is homework time. All school age kids have an hour or so of homework time, and the staff are there to help the kids and make sure they get most if not all of the work done prior to pick up! Sunny Days is absolutely awesome. My two girls have been there for several years during the summer (they are now 12 and 7) and they look forward to each year. Both of our children were at Sunny Days from kindergarten through 7th grade! They loved the summer camp- the other review stated she want the money upfront- that is only if you are not doing the WHOLE summer. You can pick 3 weeks of the summer, for example, but you need to pay upfront because she staffs for the summer. If you do the whole summer- you can pay weekly. Our kids eventually got too old to go, but Ms. Amy allowed our son to go as long as he was participating and that was great for him. The kids learn to respect each other and adults. This place is FANTASTIC! My child started going to after school last year. She loves the people who work there and most of all she loves Mrs. Amy. Mrs. Amy is an amazing person who cares about each and every one of the students who attend her after school. She runs a program that has very clear expectations, but allows for the kids to actually have fun! I have 3 children that went to Sunny Days. They are phenomenal. I have recommended so many people to take there kids there. They are family. This is like no other afterschool/summer camp. All 3 kids had amazing experiences. They had excellent homework help. I never worried about them on field trips because I knew all of the teachers and was very confident that my children would be taken care of.
