This place is literally trash, I've been here before and had crappy service and then I needed my nails done for event and I was on a time crunch when I looked up the place I didn't realized I've been here before until I actually got to the mall ! This place closes at 9p and I got in at 745p and I felt so rushed instantly they tried to talk me out of getting gel because it was going to take too long. Talking in their language clearly about what I wanted done. I was getting my toes done too and they took about 12 mins to do my toes, no cuticle cut no massage literally rubbed my legs for a second and I was out of the chair. I get my nails done every 2 weeks, and decided to try this place. First time walk in, and was not happy with the technician who did my nails but notes the other technician doing a good job to one other client. So when I left, I made the appointment with her. 2weeks go by and was time for my appointment, I arrived and she just started with someone alse and ask me if I could go later, sure, I add the time so was not a problem. Nails done, made an other appointment for 2 weeks later and once again, she was not there and was going to arrive in 20mnt, ok I waited, nails done made again an appointment for today and once I arrived she wasn't there, I was told she was going to be back in 20mnt. This time I didn't have time to wait, so they told me someone alse was going to do my nails, ok that fine, what it's not fine it's the lousy job they did and did even recognize it. I am wavering between a 3 and 4 so it would seem , a 3 rating is more appropriate. The review is for non nail service only. Their eyelash extension service is affordable and natural looking. But, I have had two different types and it seems the less expensive clusters are their specialty. The strand by strand which runs about ($150-$300) depends on whose doing them. Lee seriously rocked them out but it seems she no longer works there. Two other women tried to provide me with a fill in/maintenance and I was miserable. It looked hideous, the glue was so strong, my eyes were flooding with tears the entire time and took forever. But the price was cut in half because they knew it was a botched job. I ultimately removed them entirely and after a 2-3 month hiatus, I returned to give the cheaper individual lash service a try because it seems to be the more popular service there. Used to have great experiences here, until I started getting acrylics. I needed mine off after having them for a month and a half, went in and asked for them off. I expected them to soak them off, I was wrong. They took another acrylic nail and went underneath my acrylics and ripped them off. This left me in pain, with bruised, swollen nails. They told me "if you get a no chip your nails will heal in two weeks, we'll that was not true! A month and a week later and my nails are you ever in thickness, all nails bruised and swollen, bumps have been left, hurts when pressure is applied. They could have taken them off a much safer way. I wad squirming in the chair and trying to pull my hand away as they ripped my acrylics off, leaving me in almost tears from the pain. read more

This wasn't my first, second, or even third choice for a pedicure. Not that it's their fault. It was simply farther than I'd normally go for a basic service that I can find around me. The catch is that nothing around me seems to be open after 7pm on a Saturday and I probably would have skipped it if I'd realized it was IN the mall, but that's something I didn't figure out until I got there and tried to find it - all the maps (at the time) make it look like it's in a smaller strip mall on the other side from The HIP. I called ahead and they confirmed they were open until 9pm and were not currently busy, so I went on a quest and got a bit lost. Based on the address, I came to the conclusion that they are inside the mall. I couldn't locate a directory, but I was able to call them again and they guided me to their suite. It's near the Carson's (that's closing). I was seated at an open chair with a foot bath and waited a while for them to get started on me. The water was good at first but then way too hot. I asked the tech to turn it down and then it went too cold. It ended up being on just the warm side, which wasn't ideal but also wasn't completely unpleasant. She got to work and was able to successfully cut back my ingrown toenails and took a lot of dead skin off; however, some easily removable skin around the nails was missed. It's so much better than it was, so I can't complain too much. It was only $28 before tip, which I think is totally reasonable. There are places I like better that are closer, so I won't be going out of my way to return. But if I find myself in desperate need of another late night salon stop then I'll definitely keep them in mind. read more

My manicures have always turned out beautifully here. I am always in love with the end result and how long my no-chip lasts. I don't get my nails done often so when I do, I like to exaggerate a bit and have fun with it. I usually get a no-chip with extensions which is a longer than normal service, but the nail tech is always polite and will chat with me or just let me watch whatever's on their TV if they see I'm not in a chatty mood. My last no-chip lasted me a whole month with practically no signs of wear and tear, they still looked amazing! I did learn the hard way not to let my nails grow out that long without a fill-in when one of them broke (my fault), but 4 weeks! While it does get rather busy (it's in a mall) I don't mind the wait because I know the final product is worth it. Some of the less stellar reviews make valid points about it being crowded and the acrylic smell being on the strong side, communication can be a bit difficult as it gets loud as well. Definitely don't recommend this place for acrylic full sets!!! I had the worst experience ever. First of all, I showed the guy an inspiration picture, he said they could do it & asked me to pick the colors that went with the design. As I'm picking them, he keeps saying that the colors I'm choosing don't match the design.... Okay I'm the one getting my nails done & should be able to pick whatever color I want. He acted as if I was being difficult choosing colors. Additionally he reeked of cigarettes & his thumb was bleeding with no bandaid on it. Then he starts shaping the acrylics. I'll admit that I have a crooked middle finger but usually every place I go to will shape it to where it won't look that way. He shaped it even more crooked. Obviously crooked. So I mentioned it to him. He said that's how my finger is & I ask him to at least shape it to where it isn't obvious. He files it for two seconds & is done w it. Still crooked. At this point I'm nauseous from the cigarette smell & just not feeling it so as he goes to take another cigarette break I decide that I'm not even going to let him paint them & just tell him to leave them unpainted. I came in on saturday and usually I see that it's so packed all the time, this time it was nearly empty. I choose my color and they sat me in the chair in the back. Now, one thing I noticed is that they don't use the shower caps in the pedicure chair like most other places do. I felt extremely uncomfortable, the bowl looked dingy from all the pedicure they must have done, but took the risk. Not even half-way through my pedicure, the bowl started to leak! She just threw some towels on the floor & continued to use her worn out foot scrubber to exfoliate my feet. Now, my manicure was the botched part of the job. I told her an oval shaped & she asked why I am I not getting no chip, I told her I don't need it and didn't like it. She grabbed worn out nail file, BARELY filed about 3-4 fingers & told me to wash my hands. She didn't push by my cuticles, or cut them down or even file my nails correctly, I had to smooth them myself by ripping the fringes she left behind, not to mention they weren't even the oval shape I wanted. She applied a protective polish, ONE coat of my color, sparkled my tips and another polish coat and I was done. Worst experience ever. And do not let the photo covers fool you, the place is dirty and dingy and so cramped you literally walk over people to do to the nail drying section. read more

Ms. Lee is a true expert and did a beautiful job! Am absolutely going back---perhaps for maintenance, perhaps to try the pricey longer-wear lashes. Other than Ms. Lee, the place looks fairly standard for a mall nail salon. If you read any of my other reviews, you'll see I have a profound fondness for malls and their requisite salons! Everytime I get my nails done here the ladies always try to tell me it's ok it looks cute when I didn't even ask for what they were trying to get away with. I ask for a certain shape and they shape it different and say it's ok your nails are small it looks cute. Um. No. I'm paying to get them the way I want. Also the man who did my pedicure was rushed because he had to leave and now my feet are still dry and he didn't care because he was on the phone. I only go here because it's close to home. They even actually do a good job but you literally have to repeat yourself over and over of what you want. I have been coming here for about 5 years now. I usually only get eyelash extensions and eyebrow wax with Lee but when I get the occasional pedicure it's always great. They have a pedi/mani deal on Mondays that's pretty decent for the price. I wish I could remember the woman's name that did it for me last. She had a short bob and did a fantastic job. A lady next to me has her purse and laptop on the chair so my niece is just standing there and the tech doesn't even tell her to please move it for the customer. The tech looks up and says "pick color" we walk to the wall display and this tech keeps bumping into us to place nail polish back on the rack. So I'm in the process of shopping around for hair and make-up artists for a wedding this weekend and this place was highly recommended by my make-up artist. She claimed they do a fantastic job with eyelash extensions. They're located inside the Harlem-Irving Plaza mall down the hall from Carson's. I stopped in a day before and made an appointment for the following day. It was 4 pm on a Wednesday afternoon and the salon was busy. "Wow, they're pretty popular. I guess they do a good job here." I thought to myself. Every nail station was full and there were ladies waiting for an open spot. The greeter led me to the enclosed room in the back, asked me to sit and rest, and put on some relaxing music before leaving. As I waited for the tech, I noticed all of the certifications on the wall that the tech had received including permanent make-up, and microdermabrasion. WOW!! In a mall, huh? Le was great. I explained that this was my first time getting eyelash extensions and she explained everything as we went along. She also started to tell me about all of the other services they have including waxing and threading. I was very happy with the results. They look so natural and have a curl at the end. I got the dip 3 weeks ago and it seemed to last even though it was pretty thick. They soaked my fingers in nail polish remover for almost an hour and worked on someone else who came after I did. I had 3 different people working on my nails and when they found out I didn't want the dip anymore they were upset because obviously they make less. If they had more colors for the dip maybe I would have tried it again but not everyone wants ombré. I think I'll be looking for a new place that actually cares about their customers. read more

So I've been here before and never thought anything of how they did nails because it was my first time. Now that I've been here a few times, I've realized how much it sucks. It was $40 for no chip acrylics and they're cute, but not worth $40. The nails are uneven and me and my friends nails have weird lumps on them. There are weird spots on the side of my nails that the lady completely missed. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews for this place, considering how busy they usually are (despite the fact, I have never waited long for fresh nail paint). Anyways, I always enjoy my time here getting a manicure or pedicure with a buddy in tow. Every time my nails come out looking 3434698342 times more fantastic than they did prior to my trip to the HIP. I mean, who doesn't enjoy having a pedicure while sitting in a massage chair? I wish I knew the name of the woman who did my nails the first few trips I made to Sunny, but I cannot remember for the life of me (the only clues I can give are that she has short, dark hair and is middle aged). She wasn't exceptionally friendly, but bottom line is, she's good at her job. As far as I know their prices are average for mani-pedis (I believe it was around $35-$40 each time I went). Most of the polishes they utilize are OPI, and though I am finicky and pick at my fingernails, my pedicures have lasted up to 8 weeks.
