They wheel patients back and forth tho therapy and write in the notes that patients walk to therapy. - Because our loved one was left unattended, they fell and were admitted to the ER/hospital. We quickly found another facility to properly care for our loved one. Some of staff were kind and attentive but there was no accountability for those that were not.

The man behind…read morethe curtain was elderly and needed a Hoyer lift to get in and out of bed and be changed and what not... Had trouble with many of the CNA's not speaking English very well, but they usually respond to the call light quickly except for two different times when there was a long delay... there was a lady across the hall who was out of it and she would scream all night multiple days per week... they did not seem to have any solution for that. So Sleep was a problem. I guess the physical therapy and occupational therapy I experienced there was somewhere near adequate. Staff is generally very friendly, did not meet anybody i did not want to have caring for me. They accommodated me having some food brought to me from my house or the grocery store and let me store some in their refrigerator .. saw the doctor one time, and the Social worker and case manager didn't seem to have much interest in what I needed. Staff nurses seemed to be overwhelmed by Patient demands most days, often rushing if they appeared at all if I asked to see a nurse... I would say that the vibes were mostly good, but they could use more staff to handle the patient demands. I'd say seven of 10 were competent, and pretty much everybody was friendly. I give them a four star rating because they are much better than some other places I've been but there's obviously room for improvement, what's needed are mostly more staff and better food, and better case management/social worker availability and care.

There were so many decorated pumpkins to see and it was all due to the residents, staff and visitors who took the time to provide them. Not bathed for NINE days (and got a rash), clothing was not changed daily, urine soaked clothing was left on bed to soak through her bedspread, walker was repeatedly left out of reach and she could not stand without it, food was subpar, no PT or OT consults as needed, patients left moaning and soiled in the hallway. Lunch aids left her in unsafe position sitting on the side of the bed because "that's how we do it." Upon entering the facility, you are met with stench from soiled laundry left in the entrance hallway and a surly young male clerk at the entrance who snarled at me when I told him they were out of hand sanitizer. Some staff were helpful, kind, and competent and clearly doing their best under daunting circumstances. Some websites list them as having a five star rating which is completely insane and inaccurate!! I've visited 10 nursing homes my life and this is the worst one! We got her out of this nightmare after 2 weeks. I've heard that Genesis has sold their nursing homes in the last year or so and that they are ALL terribly understaffed and underperforming. RUN from any of their facilities! Check out St. Clare's in Newport or Forest Farm in Middletown for skilled nursing care that accepts Medicaid, and Franklin Court for assisted Living in Bristol.

I came here to recover from a heart operation, and while that has gone as well as can be expected, there are serious deficiencies here. For one, the food offered is completely inappropriate: no accommodation has been made for the fact that I should be eating a heart healrhy diet, to the point that I've had to make arrangements for food to be brought in from outside. But this is the real problem: I came here three weeks ago with a serious dental problem and the administration has done absolutely nothing to help, to the point of refusing to provide transportation to a dentist appointment that I made myself. This facility is chronically understaffed: many of the staff recently quit, with the gap is made up with contract employees who do the absolute minimum amount of work. Most of the remaining permanent staff are caring and helpful, but they are simply outgunned by an administrative staff who return any attempt at asking for help with a belligerence that is just shocking. So I will be leaving for Mass General to have the staples holding my sternum together removed as soon as transportation can be arranged. Via Uber. Don't come here! Don't subject somebody you care about to this abysmal treatment!
