A loved one was sent here after a surgery to recover and gain their strength back. - They developed infection because they weren't cleaned properly and started to develop sores. - While they were confused and heavily sedated, they sent a billing office staff member to speak to them about payment/insurance. - Transportation to medical appointments was unreliable and staff also did not wake up patients on time to get ready for appointments. - Physical therapists, that are supposed to provide therapy 5xweek, come when they feel like it. They wheel patients back and forth tho therapy and write in the notes that patients walk to therapy. - Because our loved one was left unattended, they fell and were admitted to the ER/hospital. We quickly found another facility to properly care for our loved one. Some of staff were kind and attentive but there was no accountability for those that were not. read more

Wish I could give less than one star. Mother was a patient left unattended, which ultimately led to her death from falling out of bed while eating lunch on side of her bed. She had been in a wheelchair for last ten years so very dangerous to have her sitting on edge of bed. Fell out twice second time broke femur in half which ultimately killed her You could improve these facilities by hiring staff, training staff, and care for patients instead of considering them a burden you have to check on occasionally until your shift is over. You also could ban the use of cell phones by staff. I also don't care if these are obviously what you claim are current standards. If so start implementing them read more

I was sent here for pain management after knee replacement surgery. This place was horrible! The nursing staff is clueless, completely ignore my doctors instructions and even ignore the instructions of their own supervisors. I was supposed to receive 2 types of pain medications alternating every 3 hours to keep the pain level manageable. They would randomly change the times, sometimes waiting as much as 2 hours past the scheduled time. They would then attempt to give me both types of pain meds at the same time which my doctor said NOT to do. I had sores all over my back, face and chest from something there, either soap, detergent or something else. They completely ignored my requests for help so I had to sleep holding a rag to my face to soak up the leaking fluids and blood since I was on blood thinners. The food was some of the worst slop I have ever seen in my life, just inedible. If it was not for my spouse bringing food in from outside I would have starved. They also have this fascination with bowel movements, it dos not matter what your regular cycle does not matter, you have to have a movement when they want you to or they will force you by giving you meds to make you go, but then have defective toilets so you have no choice but to use a bed pan. There are some very nice people working there but unfortunately they are hindered by the many incompetent or cruel employees who seem to out number them. read more

A 1 star rating is generous! They take hours to respond to patients buzzers. They don't listen or even show any empathy or compassion to their patients. Worst experience. It's unclean and everyone always seems to be to busy talking on their phones to really do any work! The only nice person in that whole building is the receptionist when you first walk in. She seems like the only person in this whole place that has a heart and a personality!!!! She is also the only one I ever see doing any work besides on the off chance I get to see Charlie the male nurse. Overall, If the time came that I would need to go here I would refuse and would take death over this lackluster immoral hell hole of a place. read more

I have just spent 2 weeks at Kent Regency. I could not have picked a better place to do my rehab. The staff is amazing, they are thoughtful, caring, professional. They go out of their way to make sure the patients needs and comfort are their top priority. They are upbeat and always have a smile on their faces (not fake smiles like some places do). Consider yourself very lucky to be placed here. My roommate is on her third stay here and is thrilled that this is where she was placed. I just can't say enough about how great my stay was here. It is nearly impossible to get hold of anyone here. I swear, they must leave their main phone off the hook for hours on end. The elusive person you supposedly need to talk to because "she's the same be in charge" doesn't return calls. I would only go here or recommend a loved one if I was sure someone could be attending and advocating for the patient on-site. read more

The decorations are pretty homey looking and there are several recreation areas and a courtyard for guests to visit. The food is pretty mediocre looking which is pretty common as far as nursing homes go. The staff seems to be decently friendly when interacting with the residents and their families. Never again! My mother was sent to Kent Regency after having a hip replacement at Kent hospital. We thought it would be convenient since it was around the corner from the hospital and not too far from where we lived. Plus I heard good things about them. Upon arrival at the facility I noticed a very strong urine smell down the hallway while my mom was being wheeled to her room. I mentioned this to the director. She just shrugged and stated, "I don't smell anything". Basically everyday when I visited my mother it smelled like urine in the hallways. My mother was also diagnosed for the first time with type 2 Diabetes while she was at the hospital so when she was discharged from Kent she would have to be on a strict Diabetic diet (doctors orders, no sugar or simple carbohydrates). They would give my mother white bread, pizza, chips, white pasta, cake, and other simple carbohydrates when she should be on a complex carbohydrate diet. My mom met with the Dietician there at Kent Regency(total waste of time! She needs to go back to school!) and told my mom they were going to give her more protein and more vegetables. Well that never happened. They kept sending her the same stuff(hot dogs on a bun, white rice, brownies). Their food is horrible!! Just reheated, frozen slop. My mother would send back her meals all the time and actually broke down and cried one day because she was so hungry and couldn't eat the food they gave her. Totally unacceptable! They need to cater better to people with Diabetes. I have to say my mother's physical therapy was great. Erin and Manny were wonderful and patient with my mother. They put a lot of effort to help my mother meet her goal to come home. However, there was a particular PT that was fresh with my mother and pushed her a little too much after my mother complained of how much pain she was in, lack of sleep, and how she didn't feel good that day. I don't care about how many years you've been a PT, this woman needs to be a little more sympathetic. Especially when I am sitting there watching. The RN's were great. Ashley, Chelsea and Brianna were excellent. However, they lack good CNA help. They need more CNA's on staff to accommodate the needs of patients. My mother would press her button because she either had to go to the bathroom or needed something else. No one would come to the room for a good 15 to 20 minutes. They also leave you on the toilet for a long time as well. They leave you waiting and waiting . Also, some of the CNA's and other staff members need an attitude adjustment and learn not to be so fresh and careless in their line of work. Especially leaving towels with feces on chairs all day where visitors sit. Those things should NEVER be OVERLOOKED! Disgusting! My mother was there a total of 6 weeks and hated every minute of it. Though, she did enjoy some of the people she met and some of the staff who went above and beyond and who truly cared for her. God forbid if she ever has to go into another Rehab for anything else, it won't be at Kent Regency. Kent Regency needs a lot of work. Do not send a loved one there. read more

a friend of mine is there for rehab from a stroke. they have rugs on the floor that smell like urine. Buzzed for assistance no assistance came until his spouse went looking for one. When she finds one she states did you not hear the buzz for help? He said I did not see the light. It seems that the staff there are underpaid, so good quality help you will not get unless the person has a conscience that bothers them for being insensitive to peoples need. In order to work here you must a heart for a mission. read more

Very disappointed in the way they treated my mother. She started having episodes of psychosis in which she would scream at times. When she was admitted she was acting perfectly fine. The staff was not very patient with her and we were told that if we couldn't keep her quiet she would either have to go home or to another facility. She was already scheduled for discharge the next day and they did not want her to spend another night. I have worked in acute rehab for 11 plus years and have dealt with patients worse than my mother. I have never once told their family members what they told us. I hope no one has to go what we have been through. In the future I would choose another facility. read more
