I ordered a bouquet for a special occasion--a dozen red roses with a few white lilies to add contrast--but what I received fell short from the start. Not only was the bouquet missing several of the requested blooms, but some of the flowers appeared wilted and carelessly arranged. It was more expensive than other flower shops, too! When I politely reached out to discuss the issue, the response I got was lukewarm at best--a terse acknowledgment that didn't bother to offer a real solution or even a proper apology, leaving me feeling as though my concerns were a mere inconvenience. The poorly packaged delivery and the casual dismissal over the phone have left me feeling pretty upset and ripped off. read more

My mom and I visited other locations looking for an arrangement for my grandmother's funeral. We had a vision in our mind and were told it couldn't be accomplished. I googled Florists near me and chose Sunnyside on a whim. The store was very pretty and had more options than the previous locations. But most importantly, Jennifer was very kind and helpful and told us she could create exactly what we wanted - and she did. Absolutely beautiful flowers I received from my fiancé from this establishment. I have never been given flowers that were so fresh and smelled so nice. They even deliver the flowers with a clear plastic bag to protect them from the outdoor elements. Beautiful flowers if you don't care what kind of flower!!! Ordered a bout - no roses or carnations. On the day of pick up its a small rose bud and another flower that looks like a rose, but it's called something else. They did call to ask if this mystery flower is ok so I looked it up online. The online photos didn't look like a rise, but the one they used does. I'm not happy with the bout and they will not remake one or refund. Horrible!!! Stay away unless you have no preference on the end result. Update: In response to the store's response, as my review states, we were called about a flower that we never heard of before and the images we found online did not look similar roses. On the day of, we specifically asked if the bout could be remade with a different flower and were told no. I would have been completely satisfied if it was remade with a non rose or carnation looking flower. Your policy may normally be to remake, but we even asked and were told no. The lack of a correction is the reason for my poor review. read more

I go to Sunnyside for all my flower arrangements. They do an amazing job designing and are always friendly and helpful. I love when I can give a dollar amount I want to spend, they stay within my budget and it always turns out more beautiful than I expected. My daughter recently graduated pre-k and I even got her a child's wrist corsage, she was so excited. We are even trying to figure out how to preserve it. She wants it to last forever. read more

It's always a little nerve wrecking going into anything wedding related esp florals because you can't see what they are going to look like till the day off and all you have to go off is your vision board and hope/trust the florist understands your vision... but let me tell you Dawn NAILED it!!! I was very disappointed with the flowers that arrived for my wife for Valentine's Day. I ordered a recommended arrangement of flowers on their website and ordered the top level of that arrangement. I spent over $100 and when the flowers arrived, it was very small. It was in a red glass vase, but the flowers were only six inches tall and about six or seven inches across. I can't even imagine how small the arrangement would be if I had ordered the smaller level flowers. I called the store to express my displeasure and I was basically told 'there's nothing we can do. We'll do better next time'. The person I talked to didn't really seem to care that I was disappointed. I'll be finding a different florist to order from next time. read more

Worst florist ever! Worst customer service. I walked in happy to order something for a friend. I left sad because I felt I was profiled. It's been a long time since someone made me feel this way. I didn't need a reminder of how it felt. This woman made me feel like the maggot in her garbage. Never go to Sunnyside for any of your floral needs! Stay away! Rolling her eyes as she spoke to me, never really making eye contact, saying she had nothing available when she had a cooler filled of flowers. She said they're so busy, too busy to take my order. I'm not sure how they're so busy if you're so rude and racist. I was totally discriminated. As I was telling my family the story, my mother said that the same thing happened to her years ago there and that she NEVER went back. Well mom ya should have warned me! I recently moved to Kenosha from Illinois and I received a beautiful "Sweetest Day" arrangement from this florist on October 18, 2014. It is now November 6th, and the carnations that were in this bouquet are still beautiful. My niece is getting married this week and we had a last minute "flower emergency". We went to our usual florist and they were of little to no help. Being almost in panic mode, I remembered those carnations and we went to Sunnyside Florist to see if they could help. I've never been in a more pleasant atmosphere than at this shop. Every one of the ladies, in the shop, was extremely friendly, helpful and personable. I was the customer that came in with zero ideas and left feeling I have been apart of making a beautiful flower creation. Actually, I only came in to get Mom a fresh birthday bouquet and ended up seeing another customer picking up a flower table arrangement. It was so beautiful and colorful, I ended up ordering one for myself and then the next week, planned a get together with friends, to display the arrangement at. As I started explaining my event/what I was looking for, the woman at the counter rudely cut me off and started questioning my design and what she thought was better. I would no sooner get an idea out and she shot it down. For a few stems of inexpensive flowers I was quoted "$75 minimum to $100" and the great line "We don't dye flowers." I'm no florist but I walked out fuming and laughing at the same time. The business card she gave me was tossed into the parking lot. I went to Strobbe's Flower Cart which had exceptional customer service, the same arrangement cost $30, and dyeing flowers was not a problem. I thought maybe someone was having a bad day, happens to everyone, but when a family friend described the same woman, I knew it wasn't just me. The friend asked for a funeral arrangement without roses (her father hated them) and was told "I don't think we can do that. Maybe you should come back tomorrow not so close to closing." It was 4:15 and your store is open until 5. I have heard excellent testimonials about Sunnyside but these experiences prompt me to not return and give a glowing review of Strobbe's instead. read more

Average at best. Asked for a fragrant bouquet as the recipient is blind. When they arrived, they were fresh but only 2 roses and a bunch of cheap filler daisies and carnations. Nothing with fragrance. Not good fragrance anyway. My florist in my town has made same request bouquet and it had fresia, orange half roses and gardenias, for same amount of money. Looked more like a grocery store mixed bouquet. Also asked for something for $50.00. Ended up costing $62. I am out of state so maybe if you are local and can see flowers, they may do a better arrangement. I do have to say that they were above and beyond on the delivery. Had to make three trips with no problems at all. I will use them again because of they friendliness of service and diligent delivery. I will just be very specific on what main flowers to use. read more

I visited Sunnyside Florist to place an order for a bunch of daffodils. The girl was very helpful, asked if I wanted greenery and any other flowers. I explained that no, just a bunch of daffodils were all I wanted. She took notes and said that since the arrangement was only daffodils, they would likely be 2-3 bunches of daffodils. When the arrangement was delivered it was nice, but included greenery and daisies. More daisies than daffodils, actually. I called the Sunnyside, and spoke with one person and then another. They checked the order and noted that the "O" in "NO greenery, other flowers" was cut off. They said it was their mistake. But offered no real apology. More of an excuse. I asked for a refund b/c it was clear that it was their mistake and they did not deliver what I had paid for. The woman said that in order to get a refund, they needed to go back to the home to where they were delivered and get their flowers back. She claimed you wouldn't get your money back for a SHIRT unless you took the shirt back to the store. Ummmm... I guess. But, the recipient didn't know the flowers were wrong. I was aware b/c she sent a photo of them to me. Imagine having flowers TAKEN AWAY within the hour that they were delivered! She then offered to exchange them...again, the recipient didn't know they were wrong...so imagine coming back to the home to TAKE THEM BACK and give her something else. Finally, they offered a 30% discount of an order that seemed overpriced (and included a $9.00 delivery fee to deliver the flowers literally around the corner). When I made the order in person, in the store, I was fine with the original price and agreed to the delivery fee (which both seemed expensive, but I was OK with for the special occasion), BUT I did expect that this incredibly simple order would be "arranged" and delivered as promised. And, since it was not, that they would make things right with me. Unfortunately, I was wrong. read more

I recently had a large event and ordered all of our flower centerpieces from Sunnyside and I really think they are an excellent flower shop. I told them my budget was $35 and explained what I wanted; I told them I didnt want any carnations or cheap looking flowers and for the limited budget the arrangements were beautiful. They were ready on time and the staff at the flower shop loaded everything into my van nicely packed and ready to transport. Went in at lunch today looking for a corsage (sp) for a father/daughter dance I will be attending with my 6 year old daughter. I know nothing about flowers and the staff was wonderful in helping me pick out something that would match my daughters dress for which I showed them a picture. I would just like to thank the gals at Sunnyside for all their help and expertise in my time of need! I have used them before and have always been very happy. The floral designers really put their heart into their creations! Anyway, I stopped in yesterday during my lunch hour to pick out some flowers for a dear friend who had just gotten bad news. I wanted to send her a little something just to pick up her spirits a bit. Anyway, I told the young gal that I really didn't have anything in particular in mind, to just make it her pick. I know I was putting a delicate decision in her hands, but with what they've done before I had no worries. Being I had to get back to lunch, I didn't have much time to spend on details.
