Hello, I brought my Pug in today. I had made the decision to euthanasia. The doctor poke him in his to back legs. Could not find a vein. He decided to put in a catheter, which to me was normal practice. He did not give sedative shot before euthanasia shot. When he came back in with Bernie he inserted the shot in the catheter and Bernie made a loud yelp. It was so disturbing. It was very upsetting that the doctor did not give a sedative 1st. I had already made up my mind so I went with it. I will never go through that again, so upsetting. Please have your dog sedated perform euthanasia, it should have been peaceful, but far from it. read more

Our dog Bamboo of 16 years, has heart failure and breathing problems. She was in pain. We called Sunnyside vet hospital to make a appt to have her euthanasia. Great experience! We went in last week to give my kitten some vaccines. I really appreciated that they have a separate room that's just for cats, I think that helped my kitten not be so nervous! The staff was very friendly and handled my cat in such a gentle manner. The room we were in was clean and comfortable. They offer low-cost boarding as well - I've left my cat there overnight and they took excellent care of her! read more

My family and I are full time traveling and just passing through Idaho Falls when our lab became ill. He was throwing up blood, wouldn't eat or drink, and just was not doing well. We decided to take him to the vet. Thank goodness we found this place. Of all the vet visits we've been to, this office is hands down the best experience we've EVER had. The staff is very friendly, caring, and accommodating. Dr. Nield is very caring and its obvious he has a big heart for the pets as well as their owners. And you can see that this office is clearly not too concerned with how much money they can squeeze out of you but only of the health and care of the animals. Our lab had to stay overnight, had tests ran, and was on an IV all night because of dehydration. We were expecting a huge vet bill but.....Nope! This office is extremely reasonable and upfront with their fees....so no surprises. Not that our pet isn't worth it of course! I can't recommend this vet enough!!!! This place is AMAZING!! DO NOT GO HERE! Absolutely the worst vet I've been to. The doctor is very inconsiderate, I couldn't get all my questions in because he wouldn't he even let me talk. He made my poor little pug start whining a way I've never heard before while checking his ears, remind you my normal vet has never done made him in pain from checking his ears. I told him to stop and he wouldn't right away. The doctor told me his anal glands were full as well, when I asked if he could clean them out he compl ignored my question and kept moving on. He's not very approachable & the attitude he needs to chill out on. The doctor also has his nurses hold my little baby like he's going to rip their heads off way too tight and aggressive they don't care about the animals only the money! read more

I'm not even sure where to begin but I can tell you this is the WORST vets office I've ever been to. My dog was scheduled to have his teeth cleaned, pretty routine right? Apparently not here, my husband asked if when he was there all day if the vet could LOOK at one place on his stomach, we assumed it was just a mole but figured it couldn't hurt to have the vet glance at it. He said this 3 times to the lady at the front desk, so there should not have been any miscommunication. When we went to pickup our dog they had REMOVED two moles without our permission and never even looked at the place we had asked. It gets better from here though, the front desk lady, who decided to start being rude said she must have heard him wrong and it was a misunderstanding, seems to me if you had documented what was asked you wouldn't be trying to guess later on. They refunded our portion for all the extra SURGERY we did not ask for. Fast forward a few days and the pain medication they prescribed, which my dog wouldn't have needed if they actually had listen and just cleaned his teeth, he had a horrible reaction to and had to be taken to an emergency vet center and receive fluids and other treatments, there now is a worry he has a stomach perforation or ulcer which is a common issue with that pain medicine. Did Sunnyside bother to warn us of those side effects or what to look for? No, of course not or we wouldn't have given it to him. So now a routine teeth cleaning has turning into hundreds of medical bills and my dog still being sick a week later. The vet wouldn't even bother to speak with us when we came to pick him up. Really disgusting there are offices out there like this, our animals can defend themselves or tell us what all has happened when they are there, if you care about your animal PLEASE do not take them here. We do have insurance and we were told we would be billed a separate office visit for him to look at the places, we then said please bill the OFFICE visit separately as the teeth cleaning was not covered. It's a huge difference in communication to be told you were signing for his teeth to be cleaned and then for a SURGERY. They could not produce any paperwork when we picked up showing we signed for surgery to be done as that simply isn't the case, it actually said on what we sign it would be a office visit to check. So that's incorrect, the office lady admitted she misunderstood, rather large mistake to try and cover up and put back on your client. read more

Nield is a sick twist. The entire staff treated him like he was a killer pit bull. One tech held his mouth so tight I thought she was going to break teeth. Then Nield inserts huge syringes of BNT..not FDA approved into his ear CANAL. Looks like wax used to remove hair. I think my dog is dead now. He won't eat ..2 days now. A minor ear infection and now he will probably have to be put down. I have never seen a dog treated like mine anywhere. He is a sweet hound. I wish I had walked out. Nield seemed to enjoy thinking I was some know nothing from Vegas. Guess he thought abusing my dog made him a big man. I don't know how he thinks putting wax in an ear canal is a good idea. read more

Worst experience ever. When I called to make the appointment i was assured that this vet could do what I was needing for my cat. Now I know that they aren't a groomer but I paid 200.00 for a sedated shave for my extremely fluffy cat which I've been doing for years with our old vet and it is like they didn't even try and he is so uneven and they even missed full spots. I was fine with it not being perfect as I stated to them but I definitely expect for them not to leave full patches behind. I also had concerns with some odd grinding thing he is doing with his mouth. They did not really address this and kind of just blew it off. and the dr stated they will not doing a shave for me again which again is fine but to charge 200.00 and just leave behind patches is ridiculous. The bedside manor of the dr was horrible He kind of acted offended or upset or judgey because I was choosing to have my cat shaved anybody that has an extremely fluffy cat knows that they get overheated in the winter and they usually are unsanitary where they urinate and defecate from and usually get their animal shaved due to this. I also thought it odd that they sedated to our cat and just had me wait and then unsedated him and let me take him home whole thing was about 20 to 30 minutes from exam to finish. definitely will be taking my three animals and seeking a different vet makes me nervous to even have my other animals looked at. Which sucks because the lady that I spoke to over the phone that set up my original appointment was so nice and so kind and made me feel like this is gonna be a really good experience read more

This vet experience was not ideal. Dr Neld had subpar bed side manner. He has a cold personality which is fine but was hard when you are dealing with sick dogs. Over priced for next options compared to shopping around and under cared for in the 10 minutes we bothered to use of his day. Our kids seemed to annoy the doctor just for being there. Simple questions about a possible tumor felt bothersome to him. The idea of putting down our 14 year old dog to not have her suffer with surgery felt judged and not presented as a supported option as we had to bring it up first after all the vet wanted to talk about was biopsy and that felt icky. No one wants that option to be the best step so it would have been nice to feel supported in that step if we go that route and not as bad pet owners which is how we felt bringing it up. Will not come back to this vet and if I could go back I would have went somewhere else. read more

This Vet is absolutely wonderful! My animal was treated like it was their own personal pet and the doctor shares very important facts on the problem you come in with. They take every time in the world and answer every question you will have. The free dental exam is really FREE and has no hidden costs. Being here from California is definitely worth the whole trip! read more

For 20 years, Dr. Nield has given my dogs the best care of any vet in Eastern Idaho (yes I have tried others before thankfully finding him). His staff treats my dogs like family when they come in the door, calling them by name as a friendly welcome, which always gets their attention. Recently, my 12 1/2 year old Lab/Wiemereiner mix, started acting disoriented, not eating, but drinking tons. After running lab tests, Dr. Nield discussed Marley's options. I really have a lot of respect for a Vet who informs, explains pros/cons very patiently and professionally, leaving the decision to you. For the more definitive diagnosis I sought, Dr. Nield referred me to Salt Lake for an ultrasound which lead to surgery, and a life-saving experience for Marley. After surgery, Dr. Neild continued careful monitoring Marley in I.F. every day since the surgery was very serious. He did almost daily blood draws, and even an emergency after hours infusion, telling me to call even on Christmas if Marley needed. What Vet does that? He is the BEST!!! Not only did Dr. Nield do great follow-up work with Marley, he did so with cost in mind, which I so appreciate! Marley has finally started recovering, with a few more quality years left. At Sunnyside I have always found the staff and techs to be prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. Dr Nield is a wonderful mix of caring and straight forward and honest...which was immensely beneficial when it came time to make final decisions for our 15 year old pet with heart failure. All three of our dogs have been patients and have been seen for everything from puppy stitches, neutering to euthanasia ...hands down they are the best Veterinary clinic in the area. We've tried other clinics and continuously ran into issues with a different doctor per visit, the inability to get a sick visit in a reasonable time frame or ridiculous wait times. We've had none of these issues at Sunnyside and would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

We found out about this clinic before we moved up to this area. We needed to long-term board our dogs and cats while we waited for our house to be built. Cindy, the manager/receptionist, was very helpful. We got there just in the nick of time before they were closed for the July 4th holiday. They let us come by every day (when open) to walk our dogs and spend time with them. They became our vet, even after we moved into our house in Rigby, where there are several other vets available. Dr. Nield is very knowledgeable and is always on his computer learning new things, unless he is with a patient! The whole staff is wonderful, and they go out of their way to be of assistance. They treat dogs, cats, horses, cows, etc, but for pocket pets, you will need to go to Eastside Vet Clinic. read more

My pets, 3 dogs and a cat, get the best care here. I get reminders of upcoming appointments, and necessary vaccines. The doctor takes the time to explain what and why my pets need what they do, and answers all questions. There are even Saturday hours, which I find wonderful for someone who works, or has that pet who tends to have its emergencies sometime after closing on a Friday (never fails). read more

I just moved here and needed a vet, i chose this one because my family uses this vet and they said they never had issues here. I went in to get my dogs shots, nail trim, and anal glad expression. The guy at the front desk even made sure with me before we went back that that was what I came in for. They didn't trim his nails nor did they do the gland expression yet they still charged me over $100 saying that that was because they did an annual check up, yet all they did was give him his shots and make me wait 30 minutes. The nurse was nice she held my dog and made him feel as comfortable as she could, but both the nurse and doctor seemed to ignore the fact that i was there. Finally after at least 15 minutes of waiting the doctor comes in, he asks me a question but he said it too fast i didn't understand what he had said, he then proceeded to say it again as loud as he would without yelling, I thought that was kind of rude. Anyways, I didn't have a good experience here at all and i'll be finding a new vet. read more
