Also there's a company that brings fresh pasta called Lucido's Produce & Herbs which is phenomenal. They even have frozen ravioli in all kinds of flavors which are omgtodiefor. The vendors either take cash or check. You can get cash from inside the gas station, the cashier will do it for you for a $2 charge (like an ATM). It's in the parking lot of the Green Spot Market & Fuels, which also has probably the best taco place in Dallas (Good 2 Go Taco). Awesome! Overall, I absolutely love this part of my community and I'm going to miss it terribly when I move next year. What they do offer is lots of local products like baked goods, soaps, salsas and unique crafts. I love supporting small, local businesses so this market is right up my alley. I copped some yummy French macaroons and a spicy marinade that I can't wait to try with some fish for dinner. It's small and the location changes every other week so be sure to check their website before you head out. I would definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area but I would not make a special trip or anything.

They didn't have any in stock so I called about a month later and they had fresh peas in stock. I didn't know how many bags to get so I think I went a bit overboard. I purchased black eyed peas, purple hull peas, cream peas, pinto beans, okra, corn, pecans, peanuts, fig preserves, watermelon, sweet potatoes and honey. They have more veggies and fruit to choose from including other preserves. The prices are a little higher than I expected to pay but I still made the purchase. I paid with my debit card but was told they prefer cash. :) My husband tried the watermelon and he said it was ok. I made a homemade sweet potato pie and the sweet potatoes were ok. The purple hull peas were just ok. I'm not sure if they were picked too soon but they didn't meet my expectations. If I decide to come back, it will be for the fig preserves and honey. The staff is friend and are very helpful. I think the produce came from East Texas. Call ahead to make sure they have the produce in stock.

It's hard to decide who to buy from because there are lot of produce vendors and it all looks so good, so we bought a little from everyone. I do like that Rowdy's takes debit/credit cards. I will say that I was a bit disappointed in one purchase from Rowdy's this past week. We bought the tomatoes on Sunday and ate one that night and another on Monday. But by Tuesday, the rest had begun growing mold. Perhaps we didn't care for them correctly or they just have a short shelf life ... either way, I'd like either of those things to be shared when I purchase directly from the one growing the produce. All of the other food is still fresh and tasty.

Sometimes (rarely) they have coffee and once in a while they have an ice cream or sno-cone truck. The Farmer's Market is a great idea. More consistent quality goods, more and better quality local food, more shade and free craft activities for kids would make this market really shine.

Today they also have a nursery area for plants, herbs & tree's. This is a throwback experience to when produce stands and markets were plenty. A true outdoor roadside market, the folks that work here a helpful and friendly, the last of it's kind around these parts and it beats the prices, freshness, selection of those inside farmers markets.
