Beds not working properly. Bulbs haven't been changed in almost 9 months. Dishonorable business. I went in for a quick stand up tan. $30 for 10 mins. I tan very easily, so I was surprised that I had zero evidence of one when I finished- (I know the tan takes a second to develop but you can press on your skin to see the evidence of colour) Nothing. The bulbs were super weak while I was in there and I wondered if maybe they were overdue for a change. I went out and kindly alerted the owner, and asked when the bulbs were changed last- she said March- it's November so that's 8.5 months ago- which is a really long time (they should be changed every 6 months). I was bummed at having paid $30 for nothing- plus tanning maximizer. She was clearly bothered and tersely told me to go in for another 10 mins and to "not turn on the fan"- this wasn't about me not feeling warm, it's just about result, and a fan doesn't effect that- keep in mind the maximum is supposed to be 10 so clearly she KNEW they were weak because she wasn't worried about me being burned IF she's saying I should go in for a whole other 10 mins. - that's DOUBLE maximum time- no one with functioning beds would ever risk advising a customer to do double max time, someone could get seriously burned. After that 10 mins a I finally had a little evidence of colour. No problem, just old bulbs and so you need a longer time for them to be effective. I go back today out of convenience and I walked in and was friendly and reminded her I was there last week and that if the bulbs still haven't been changed, should we set the time a bit longer. Welp, that was a problem for her. She said the last time she gave me a "courtesy" free session because it was my first time (side note, I used to go there years ago) I pointed out that it's not a "courtesy"- I have paid for a service that isn't working- or needs more time to get a basic result due to faulty equipment. This isn't the fault of my skin- this is a machine that's not working optimally, so basic time needs to be adjusted until the bed is properly serviced. She's not doing me a favour- I'm paying for a service, not trying to "steal" extra tanning sessions. Needless to say I just took my money elsewhere. So saw this place couple of times and always wanted to start going to get some tan. One day decided to go. And after a few sessions. Its good and bad. Good-its nice. clean and decent number of rooms...3 rooms...one stand machine and two laying down ones. the owner is a nice lady. and alot of hot women. Obviously room salon/bar korean girls. Some i've met at their work so meeting them outside on their days off was surreal. Some sure do look different. Anyway, decor and machines are not bad. And wait time is pretty non existent. Which leads to the bad... Bad-the reason theres hardly any wait time is the cost. This place is pretty expensive. And as the only one in ktown as a pure tanning salon there isn't that many competition so I guess that lets them set the price. Which is $25 per 11 minutes or you can buy packages like 10 sessions for $200. Im sorry but $25 for 11 minutes? Expensive. I can goto another salon and pay like $10-$15. I've been coming here for close to a year now. I love this place and the staff is super sweet and very accommodating. When I first started coming here I was definitely a beginner but I took the deal for 10 sessions for $99.00 and I've renewed the deal twice already. I recently took advantage of a new deal which includes 3 free sessions with a purchase of a tanning lotion. Are usually come here for the tanning bed sessions but I did get a spray tan once and it came out amazing. This tanning salon gets the job done. They only have three beds that are all level five, but their prices make up for their lack of options. Honestly, a few sessions in level five beds are really all you need for a nice tan that should last almost a month. The staff is super sweet. Salon itself seemed pretty clean. I have been looking for a good tanning spot by my work so that I'm able to walk there during my lunch. This was the first tanning salon to show up when I searched it on YELP, and the reviews were all good. Although it was mostly for spray tans, I still thought it would be worth a shot to check it out. So I looked up their website, and they were running a special for unlimited tanning!!! So I walked there on my lunch break and inquired about their online special, the ladies who talked to me about it were very nice. To do unlimited tanning for 8 minutes was $89.99 a month and for 10 minutes it's $99.99 a month. I chose the 10 minute plan which in the end, including taxes, and etc cost me $139. Yes it's a bit expensive, but I think it's worth it because it will take me awhile to get to the tan color I would like. They have 3 tanning beds, 2 lay down beds and 1 stand up bed. They are the of the highest quality, and are tanning level 5. I always choose the Ergoline lay down bed, because I've used it before in the past. They don't have the eye protector's that most salon's have, so you either have to purchase these sticker's for $1 from them, or use your own protective eyewear. They also sell them for $6 and I ended up buying a pair, because at least I know that it's just me wearing them. Also if you want to continue the unlimited tanning the next month, at least for my 10 minute plan, it will cost $109. I'm not sure yet if I will continue it, depending on how tan I get after this month, I might just have to come in 2 a month to keep up my tan. But I really like this place, and even for them having only 3 beds, I have never had to wait for a bed. I've gone twice already and am loving the color that I'm starting to achieve. Love this tanning salon! The salon is very clean and all the machines are new & well-maintained. They have two tanning beds n one stand-up. I tried their beds and I felt like I was in a time machine! They were very fancy and spacious. They only have new & high level machines and I've been to many other tanning salons and they don't have a decent bed like this place or they charge more for the same level of beds. I paid $20 for 1 session (12 minutes max) and I could see a result right away. I actually put on one of the tanning stickers (it was free!!) on my lower belly and i got the tanning tattoo right away after one session. I loved the result so I ended up signing up for their monthly unlimited which was super affordable ($89/month). I've been to many tanning salon and they usually spray me very quickly and leave me alone to dry myself, however the service I received from Sunplus Tanning was totally different. I've done an airbrush tan before. I'm new to Korean town and found this place that does airbrush, I read the reviews about the airbrush and they seemed very happy with the results... I got the darkest color, I showered, shaved, and exfoliated before. When the session was finished I saw the results right away and waited 24 hours to shower. The day I showered it literally washed the color away, I didn't scrub, I used body wash and bathed with my hands smoothly on my body, as I was told to... they said usually it lasts a week but it only lasted 2 days, I was so dark and now it's all blotchy and I don't look tan.. I'm disappointed because airbrush tans are supposed to last longer than a few days! I know I did everything right to keep the color but as soon as the water hit my body all the color washed away after waiting 24 hours. I wasted money and will not go back. As a tanning enthusiast, I've been to a lot of tanning salon in my life. I've gone to a bunch of terrible ones and a couple of really good ones, but this place really hits the spot. Though the prices might be a bit higher than the other salons, you really get what you pay for. By that, I mean the machines here are fabulous. Not only are they comfortable and cozy, they really get the job done. I've seen major results in 3 or 4 10-minute sessions. By the end of the 10 sessions you get in a normal package (the lady who owns the place is really nice too, she'll often give you one or two extra sessions if you get the package as a bonus), you end up with a beautiful golden beach-body tan that every tanner would die for. Why would you spend money at a cheap tanning salon and get no results (and spend even more money trying), when you can pay a little bit more and get the full results?
