I found Damian on the Nextdoor app. I was looking for someone to help us with dirt removal in our backyard. He was one of the first to reply to my inquiry. When messaging he replied quickly. He came out to look at our dirt piles and said it could be done in 1 day. We hired him for the dirt removal and then when I realized he was a concrete contractor, I asked him to quote us on our front stairs. We had been wanting to redo our front stairs for sometime as they were the original 2 small stairs from the 1960s track homes. So we hired him to do our stairs as well!! Everyday his workers came on time and they worked hard and got the job done. The dirt was removed on the first day and now we can finally utilize our backyard! The stairs were poured and it looks beautiful. I am very happy with the way they turned out. We also added a walking path to our front, so we have more room to exit our vehicle. We had our patio replaced, and added a block wall. Drainage was added, and an outlet cored into the curb. First they had to jackhammer and remove the old patio. The entire crew was amazing, and truly hardworking. They were reliable and when everything was finished, the cleanup was 100%. If there was a 10 star rating, I would have given them 11. They also worked on my 25 year old AlumiWood patio cover, and now it's better than new. Obviously, I give Sunrise Concrete my highest recommendation! read more

I rarely write reviews, but when it comes to Sunrise Concrete, there was no hesitation. I have used Sunrise Concrete in the past to install my patio cover as well as for concrete work, and a retaining wall. Because of their previous work, I knew of their quality of work, professionalism, and follow-up. When I contacted Sunrise Concrete, I was immediately able to get ahold of Damien. He was very knowledgable and professional. He told me he would be out the very next day to start work on a wall between my neighbor and my home. Fast forward to the next day, and Damien and his team were at my house. In less than two days I had a brand new wall installed. I've used Sunrise Concrete on two different projects at different locations. One was a complete backyrard renovation which included new concrete, pergola, pea gravel, grass, and sprinkler system installallation. The second, a front entrance renovation which involved new concrete, stamped walkway, rebuilding a planter bed, and extending a driveway. Both projects were reasonably quoted and completed within the initial proposed timeline. In both instances they treated me with professionalism, consistently provided progress updates, answered all of our questions, and were able to pivot whenever we had adjustments/changes we wanted implemented. Damien is knowledgeable and his years of experience were apparent in our discussions regarding my projects. Sunrise concrete removed old and fireplace along with section of grass. they poured approximately 15 yards of concrete where the old pavers and fireplace were. They redid sprinklers and laid sod to bring my yard back to life. Not only did they do what they said they were going to do, they went over and above what they were contracted to do. If I could I wouldn't even give them a star. In all honesty don't hire this company for any of your concrete needs. It seems that they are excellent in Gardening- replacing plants, remodeling your yard with shrubs, maybe fake grass, removing old grass etc.. However for concrete don't throw your money away and save yourself from grief and having to report this business to CSLB for his bad workmanship and irresponsibility. When giving an estimate he comes across as being a nice, upfront and honest individual and once the work starts he doesn't supervise his workers (his young kids) and once you confront him - he lies. He even said that I didn't finish paying him even though I have proof that I did ! They were negligent and poured some concrete into my pool and then said that he wasn't a pool man and he didn't have the tools to fix it and for me to find a pool person. I told him that I was aware that he was not a pool man however he had caused this issue- he is not taking any responsibility. My parents are elderly and I represent them and help them- this was done at my parents home and the worst is not only the concrete stuck on the sides of the pool wall but the entire pool deck is blotchy, stained. We ended up with a worse job than the cracked cement we had before. We needed to fix the cracks due to my parents being older and to prevent any falls but now we have to deal with Mr. Damian that is dishonest in every aspect. We have reported him because people like this should be held accountable. It's too bad we have to deal with people that pretend to be something they are not ! I will post pictures and you can ask me any questions. Don't do any business with this individual and his kids because as far as I'm concerned the fruit doesn't fall very far away from the tree. Seemed to be a awesome guy when he came out for the estimate gave a proper timeline of when to expect the quote. Dodged all business calls and cell calls following up on the estimate and stated he had a family issue out of town etc... quote to be expected the next day which is per the original timeline a week late... because of the holidays I will give this guy some time we'll it's now more than two weeks past the original estimate date when he came To the house and no response. One of the worst companies I've ever done business with. Had them put in a stamped wrap around patio in my backyard and down the side of my home. Along with a alumiwood patio cover. First of all they didn't use proper drainage or level the area where my AC's are. My air conditioner's where so wobbly the first winds damaged my both my AC. Didn't lay the concrete a 1/2 inch below my garage door like they should have. Now every rain we get it leaks under my garage man door. The alumiwood patio cover leaks throughout the entire 50 feet. I can't hang out under my patio when it rains. Just armature work on my entire property. Electrical box left open I had to take down the ceiling fans from the patio bc/ they wobbled do bad I had to reinstall my self properly. You would thing after calling with someone many complaints I'd get some sort of response. NOPE. That extremely unprofessional foreman Damien brushed of all my complaints brushed off my AC damage started ignoring my phone calls and I never heard from them again. I would never do business with this POS company again. I recommend you run away as fast as you can. To confirm my aggravation I've had about 5 contractors come to give me an estimate on adding a pool. Each and every single one asked who did this screwed up Mickey Mouse job on your patio. Not just one but every single one said they basically shit all over your property. It's work like this that gives the rest of us a bad name. Don't trust a word these people speak especially that lying ditching scum bag Damien. I'm still picking their dried up concrete of the side of my walls 2 years after they shit on my house. My apologies for the delay in posting this review! A few years ago, we needed smooth sidewalk for my parents who use walkers: the only way to get to their home meant using two steps to get up to their home. The estimator came out and said it would be a 2-3 day job. Day 1: The demo crew comes out excavates the lawn, installs the forms, and the owner comes out to see the job get started. Turns out my parents were walking up, and had to use the two steps to get up with their walkers. Maybe 6 guys are on this crew: Everyone dropped their tools and ran over to help my parents. A brief and very intense conversation among the crew with owner followed. The owner approached me: "If it's OK with you, we're going to pour the sidewalk today." The sidewalk rolls around the patio with a very, very gentle incline: it makes it so easy for my parents. "6 stars out of 5!!!" read more

DON'T TRUST!!!!!! I have never dealt with a more dishonest company than this one. I needed some stains removed from our backyard cement (approx. 10 sq. ft.), which required that the entire area (approx. 500 sq. ft.) be acid washed so as to look uniform. The owner, Damien, didn't even bother to come down and see the job himself, but instead told me that he could give me a quote from looking at an aerial view of my house on Google Maps. I should have seen that as a red flag, but I still went ahead with his $2,440 quote because he was a very good talker. His workers showed up an hour and a half late, but Damien wasn't there. His workers began simply touching up a few of the cement stains, a job that would probably have taken them about a half an hour to complete. When I asked them whether they would be doing all the cement and not just the stains, they said that they didn't know. A few minutes later Damien shows up and informs me that they would only be cleaning the stains, which is all that was on the quote. I told him that this was not what we agreed to and he just kept repeating that this was all that was on the quote. I told his workers to stop immediately which they did. I then looked Damien straight in the eye and said, "Are you serious? You were going to charge me $2.440 to clean up a few stains?" He said yes and again repeated that this what was on the quote. I was flabbergasted. I could clearly see that the one area that his workers had started to clean looked terrible, because all they did was lighten up the area where the stains were, but left the rest of the concrete looking mismatched. I asked them to please leave immediately, which they all did politely. Several minutes later I received a scathing text message stating that I was a bad person and he was going to send me a bill for the $2,440, which I would have to pay. I told him that he did not do the job that he had promised and that I wouldn't pay him a dime. He then began sending me numerous threatening text messages stating that he will go to any length to go after me with everything he's got. I contacted Damian @ Sunrise Concrete and had him come out to our house to give us an estimate on grading and leveling our back yard, adding top soil, laying down sod. adding more drainage and full sprinkler system, adding concrete and a patio cover with a fan and extra lights and a tree. He gave us a proposal on the spot and we liked it so much we signed the deal on 10/3/20. The project was completed on 10/17. Our before pictures would have been 1 or a negative #. The after looks absolutely beautiful and my wife would give it a 10. Damian always stayed in contact and all of the workers/subs used were processional and courteous.
