John looked me in the eye and told me he had never seen this problem, he'd have to do some research. He'd call a buddy who is an expert on this device and be back Friday AM. Come Friday, he walked in with a part and said that the buddy never returned his call, but this was the most logical problem. He replaced the part and things work perfectly now. Prior to John, I was told by a plumber that I had major work required that would cost a bundle. I found John to be very personable, prompt, honest, forthright and professional. Being concerned about the expensive local plumber I have used in the past I went on the web! Not being comfortable with the label "PIPE DREAMS" I bit the bullet as he was very local and had a high "yelp" rating so I gave him a call the next business day about 9 am and left a message. He called me back about 10am from out of town but requested if he could stop by about "noon' time: and HE DID 1pm! He took one look and started taking his first of many trips to his truck and came back with a ladder and camera and found a leak at the 3 clock side of the connection. It was a very difficult repair. The steel ring holding the toilet was totally rusted out. But he had the tools in the truck . He not only had the tools in the truck he had all the parts to return the entire toilet to NEW CONDITION and rolled out at 2:45pm and I had a new toilet for HALF THE COST ANTICIPATED . I WAS STUNED. as a register professional engineer he exceeded my highest expectations . He knew what to do, how to do it, prepared to do it, and pleasant and friendly doing it. On August 15, 2026, I called Heritage Home Service to fix a leaky shower valve cartridge. Heritage…read morecame out to troubleshoot the problem, and the plumber tried to show me that it was not the shower valve cartridge. They told me that the basement leak was due to lack of caulking around the shower stall door trim and the show door bottom seal. Subsequently, the plumber caulked the door trim and joint between the shower pan and the floor. The shower was used later in the evening and the basement leak returned. It turned out that the shower valve cartridge was leaking only when the valve was open, not when it was closed. I rushed to Home Depot that evening before it closed to buy a Moen #1222 replacement cartridge at my own expense, and I replaced it myself that same evening. The next work day, I called Heritage to tell them that their work did not remedy the leak, and I texted them the sales receipt for the valve cartridge. I requested my money back for only the cartridge, or a replacement cartridge. It is now September 2, and after 3 phone calls, I haven't received a callback from the Heritage customer service representative. During the service call, I purchased the Home Advantage contract which speaks about 100% customer satisfaction. We are very senior citizens, and our treatment by Heritage has been shabby at best. I stop short of stating that Heritage business practices are predatory while awaiting any communication between Heritage and our household. I am sorry, but I cannot recommend Heritage Home services, or the Heritage Advantage contract.
