Everyone from Admissions to Aides were attentive and caring towards my father. In his last days (as with every day he was there), he was made very comfortable and was well attended. The last 2 days (when I was there pretty much all the time) the staff not only checked on my father, but on me as well. I have never been one to like nursing homes, I've always felt that they could not take care of someone as well as family could, but I was pleasantly surprised and highly impressed by Waterview Hills. If you need to have a loved one receive this kind of care, you won't find a better, more skilled, and caring place to have your loved ones stay than Waterview Hills.

After having a very difficult respite experience at another facility last year, I was extremely nervous about trying again. As a caregiver, leaving someone you love in the care of others is not easy. From the moment we walked into Putnam Ridge, I felt a difference. We were warmly welcomed, the facility was clean and smelled clean, the residents were well cared for, and everyone we encountered was friendly and spoke to us. I talked to my mom almost every day while I was away, and hearing how strong and comfortable she sounded gave me a sense of peace I did not have last year. For the first time, I was actually able to relax on vacation knowing my mom was safe and being cared for. To the staff of the Apple Memory Care Unit, thank you for caring for my mom and for giving this caregiver something just as valuable: PEACE OF MIND. Dr. Lise Youkeles look me in my eyes told me I will take care you! I was unable to breath and no energy . Dr. Youkeles work on me and between Dr. Youkeles knowledge and meditations, breathing devices I have received a clean bill of health. My ct scans have shown my lungs are clear and infection is gone! Always able to reach the doctors when I have needed an appointment. Though the journey I have not been in the hospital or urgent care. I have received top notch health care. No facility is perfect. Knew names of 2 nurses that stood out for their professionalism and care : Edguardo (4th floor)and Renee(3rd floor) RN Joanne appeared to act better than the others but was actually the worst - spoke to visitors with an attitude. She took away from the decent image I took Sky View for. CNAs did the best they could with the staff that they had each day. Seemed to exhibit comradeship. Food was well prepared -- Dining Room staff is scarce. Took nearly 1 1/2hrs to have 80+ y.o wait for their full lunch. Have entertainment/patio BBQs/ "gardening" using an elevated window box - holiday parties(those are actually impressive and memorable to spend with your loved one) Won't say I wouldn't recommend, but like ANY Nursing Home, yes it's a Nursing Home, you have to do your homework and be ahead in the know at all times with what occurs.

Pet Care Pets can be extremely important to a senior's mental, emotional, and physical health. Nevertheless, caring for a pet can become more challenging with age. Our caregivers can help ensure that pets are getting the attention they need to stay healthy and happy; by feeding and grooming pets, and taking dogs on walk. Yard Work While fresh air and sunlight can do wonders for a senior's outlook, too much yard work can become taxing. Our caregivers can assist with mowing, weeding, planting flowers, pruning and other outdoor projects. Seniors can participate to whatever degree they are interested and able.
