My first experience working with the owner of Good Samaritan Plumbing was a positive one. I even…read morereferred several people to him. Since then, he had one of his very abrasive and verbally abusive employees come to our home to work on our plumbing issues. This person was very abrupt and rude to us on a previous occasion, and we had asked the owner to not send this person out to us in the future. Unfortunately, the rude abusive plumber was sent out to us once again. This time he started screaming and yelling at both my husband and myself, because we were not interested in having him fix the toilet, but replace it with the new one that we had purchased. The rude plumber almost immediately became angry and started yelling at my husband and I because we did not want to have him clean and repair the toilet as HE wanted. We hired him to replace the toilet and put in a new disposal. Since he became very aggressive and verbally abusive almost immediately, we asked him to leave. He would not leave our home, so I told him that if he did not leave, I would call the police. He then proceeded to sit out in his vehicle in front of our home, for approximately 15 minutes. My husband called the owner and told him what was going on. In the interim, I called the office and also let them know the situation. The person I spoke to, told me that this man has had several complaints and said that he would most likely be let go.The owner called me later on and apologized, but he also said that the story that the abusive plumber told him, was different than the facts I had relayed to him. He also said that he's known this man for a long time, considered him a friend, and that he was not looking forward to the difficult conversation he was going to have to have with him. I told the owner, Dave, that this is not a "he said she said" scenario, and I thought it best that we find a different plumbing company for our needs. The owner apologized again, and said that he would call us in a couple of days and set up a time for him personally to come out and perform the job that we initially hired them to do. We heard NOTHING from Dave, the owner, after that. Sadly, under the circumstances, I do not recommend this plumbing company due to their lack of professional conduct and outlandishly rude behavior of the employee they sent to our home twice now.

With the recent storms and hurricanes, being without power has always been a concern for us. We…read morehave a portable gas generator, but having to run power cables from outside through the windows and throughout the house to get power all the way over to appliances has always been a pain. We decided it was finally time to look at getting a generator inlet hooked up to our electric panel. We also wanted to be able to run some circuits directly off a battery backup system for short term outages. A neighbor recommended New Dawn Electric so we gave them a call. As our goal was a bit more complicated than a standard setup, they scheduled someone to come out and review everything with us first and provide a quote. We discussed what we were looking to do, what equipment we had to do it, where we wanted things located, went over a couple different options, and came up with a plan. We were quoted a reasonable price, and we got the work scheduled very quickly. Everything was just completed today, and we couldn't be happier. We had an outside gas generator inlet and an inside battery backup inlet installed, the necessary interlock, a safety transfer switch, custom cables, and all the connection work done perfectly and it is setup exactly how we wanted. Actually, even better than we originally were planning because Tim came up with an improved and safer way to switch between the two inlets. The entire panel, outside of the 240v circuits, which our generator doesn't support, can be powered with either backup system. We tested it out and I was able to run every standard circuit off the battery system if necessary. Across the board, the entire experience was great and Tim did an outstanding job. I'm almost looking forward to the next power outage so I can use it. I would definitely recommend New Dawn Electric to anyone looking for electrical work to be done. Friendly people, quick service, skilled professionals, outstanding work and very reasonable prices.

So I was pleasantly surprised by my experience with Maria and Chano of Castro Irrigation. Their business is thriving and they cover a large geographic area so I had to wait a few days for an appointment here in Sarasota. But the appointment was very easy to schedule through both voice and text. They arrived early and were ready to start work at the scheduled time. They efficiently assessed the repairs needed when my last provider - a well-known establishment who seems to have grown too fast - failed to perform. They had all necessary replacement parts, including a new control board/timer, with them so they were able to complete the (unfortunately extensive) work the same day. Nothing is cheap anymore but I feel like their prices were fair in light of the work performed. System is now fully operable again - they walked with me at the conclusion of work to demonstrate.
