Stop looking! You have found it! This northern Wisconsin resort has it ALL, and it is ALL A-1 ! The resort itself consists of various sizes of cabins, including our favorite ones overlooking the lake. There's fishing... There's tons of *outdoor* games for the kids... There's sooooo much more. HOWEVER... They all pale by comparison to the MEALS! That's what I said... the amazing meals... from the "Baker's Surprise" at breakfast... to the delisicious selection of courses for evening meals. Very friendly staff and clean cabins. I've been staying at Sunrise for the past 8 years and will continue for years to come.

So I have to start with this review out with the fact then when we arrived via snowmobile I was pretty motion sick and had no appetite. By the way, they encourage and welcome snowmobiles. I ordered some eggs and toast but couldn't get beyond the toast sadly. Everything looked incredible. The eggs were cooked perfectly as I requested, the toast was a cranberry nut (yum!), and the bacon was great (my dad said). The pancakes are MASSIVE, the french toast looked beautiful and the staff couldn't be more friendly. All in all I am bummed that I wasn't feeling well enough to really eat but I will absolutely be back. The owners were even out and about filling coffees and waters which is so cool to see. Everything on the menu is named after the grandkids of the owners too which I just love. If you are looking for a 5 star breakfast and experience stop by! read more

This place has great food, especially breakfast! I like the Alexa, with scrambled eggs, rye toast, and the fresh off the bone ham slice. The hash browns are extra and are excellent. My husband likes the French toast and pancakes (all you can eat). Each meal comes with a complimentary bakers surprise, which is a nice touch. Homemade jam and real maple syrup is bonus. Service is good and people are very friendly. Best breakfast in the Northwoods! read more

The fishing on lake veiux desert was amazing and the workers at the resort were very nice and they had lots of activities to do.

Beautiful cabins, and located on the water. They even have handicap cabins which is hard to find. The restaurant is very good with everything prepared fresh. It is family owned and they are all super friendly. If you are looking for a great Northwoods getaway you can't beat Sunrise, we are there a couple times a year! read more

There isn't a better place to take a vacation. EVERYONE is doing their best to make sure that we have a terrific vacation. If you have kids, during the summer the kids will have a full schedule of sports and games that they can participate in and they will never be bored. There are fun things for the adults to do as well including a free painting session. There are tons of bikes to ride, paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes, and you can rent boats and pontoon boats. There are family events such as softball, tennis, badminton, volleyball, and basketball and there is a Sunday cookout and a breakfast cookout at a park, and of course, the bonfire one of the nights with smores and ghost stories. The food is absolutely wonderful and my only regret is that Linda will not come back home with me to cook the dinners they have up there. There are fresh homemade bake goods at all the meals. The salad bar is absolutely wonderful. The problem is you want to try everything and then you don't have room for dinner. Wednesday lunch is pizza and cookie making for the kids and the rest of the guests can order their own custom pizza. Pets are very welcome and they have fun at the resort as well. The really good parts is that EVERYTHING is incredibly clean,. Not only are the cabins immaculate when we arrive, but the daily maid service is wonderful and the maids are so friendly. I've stayed at a lot of places that when you walk in the cabin for the first time, you can smell mold and other things. You NEVER smell anything except clean. read more

I found this place last fall and we stayed in October for a few nights. Our boat broke down and the owner, Phil, was amazing. He helped us get it to a nearby marina to have it looked at and went above and beyond what was expected. We liked it so much we came back again this past weekend (with my sister and brother-in-law and mother). Was not disappointed. The food is amazing, the staff is wonderful, the activities at the resort are great too. This place goes above and beyond, we will be back again (I think my sister and mom will too). read more

We stayed for a few days in early October 2014 and absolutely loved it. Our 8 year old daughter was thrilled with all of the activities - 2 playgrounds, mini golf, sand areas, docks, badminton, horseshoes, bikes, and too many others to name, plus the indoor activities in the lodge - air hockey, ping pong, pool, etc. We loved the layout of the resort and the outdoor fitness trail nearby. Our cabin was very well appointed and very cozy / comfortable. Just what we wanted. The lodge serves meals and they are delicious and very fairly priced. We were able to rent a fishing boat from them at a very fair rate as well. We felt very well taken care of and will definitely be back! This place would particularly be a great place to take kids. read more

We stayed for one week with our family (10 people in all). The staff is fantastic, and boy do they work hard from sun up to sun down to provide a wonderful experience for all guests. The cabins are clean, with housekeeping everyday, and a fully furnished kitchen if you goose to make your own meals. The main lodge provides outdoor lawn games, indoor table games and three delicious meals everyday (with huge portions...we were never hungry the entire week!) There are plenty of activities for kids and adults to participate in if you desire. The lake is beautiful and provides lots of room for playing on the sand bar, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, fishing, boating activities, and a beach/lawn area to relax. I highly recommend a visit to Sunrise Lodge, and hope to return again soon. Maybe for a winter stay next time! read more

I've been to Sunrise three times for dinner, so far, and I look forward to returning again soon. The dinner menu is replete with awesome selections, and each entrée comes with access to the well-stocked salad bar, a frost (sherbet/juice combo) or soup, a vegetable side, and the entrée itself. Of course, when you're thinking about dishes such as a 10-oz New York Strip or a delicious pecan-encrusted salmon fillet, it's easy to ignore all the extras... until you actually view the salad bar (full of fruits, berries, vegetables, cheeses, and meats) or taste the frost/soup. And of course, the service at Sunrise is great. All three times, I've asked to be seated by the back window to admire the view outside, and all three times I've been accommodated, with good service even at the back end of the restaurant. I cannot recommend Sunrise more! It's great for dates or groups. read more

This will be our 13th year going to Sunrise Lodge and there is no place better. My cousin went up with us last year and his comment: What is there not to like! The accommodations are spotless and currently updated. The food is great and everything is homemade. The owners and their employees go out of their way to make your stay the BEST EVER. The cabin we have stayed in were nice and clean, our family opted out of the meals being included because we wanted to venture out & try some northern wisconsin restaurants , what a mistake I will try to remember when our family got the cold as ice treatment from a place we stayed at ever in thirty five years of traveling I guess sunrise wins that prize hands down, finally I asked the owner if they were mad at us She replieded most people this time of the year get there meals included [wow] I wish sunrise would have told our family If you opt out of the meals we will treat you rudely dont ever kid yourself this place is all about the money. read more
