Sunrise Mall has changed since the last time I stopped in about five plus years ago. They made a soft remodel and now includes a small food court. They moved their small children play center from the center to in front of Macy's. The three major department stores include Macy's, JcPenny's and Sears. Mall includes a discounted movie theater., several shoe stores and girls junior clothing stores. The mall is small but is spacious and it is nice not to rub elbows with complete strangers. Gave the mall only three stars cause there are way too many mouthy ass teenagers..... I thought Arden had kids running around wild, but Arden security got the kids in check; Sunrise Mall security seems not to pay any attention to them fouled mouth baby baby kids!!! Won't be going back in fear I might knock a kid out!!! read more

One of the oldest malls in Sacramento. I used to shop here all the time. Located in heart of Citrus Heights. Mall is small compared to others in the area. Its great for in and out trips for the shops that are here. Mall itself is a little dated. Missing plenty of tenants. Signage and maps can be found throughout. Staff is generally friendly. So I used to live in Rancho Cordova and I loved driving all the way out to Arden Mall (I had also just gotten my license), but now that I am older and live closer to Arden I love going to Sunrise! I don't know what was wrong with me when I was a teenager!! Sunrise is so convenient! It has everything I need without the crowds that Arden has. And probably the NUMBER ONE best thing is the movie theater! I think it's really under estimated. They have good movies and they stay there for so long. TMNT was practically still playing there when it came out on DVD (I saw it 4 times LOL). I think movies are only $4 there too!! The only thing is don't get a slushie there! They suck and they're over priced (like all movie theater food), I usually stop at a gas station before I go in and CAREFULLY have it in my purse. Macy's at Sunrise Mall has made a Hugh error. I purchased and paid for a special lifetime ring. The very next day, Macy's charged my used debit card without authorization. We are speaking of $1904.01. This was a shock to me and my checking account. I immediately called Macy's and was told that I demanded that it be charged. Never happened!! Now, I'm being told they will speak to management to see what could be done. RETURN THE STOLEN MONEY! This was NOT authorized, do Macy's committed FRAUD! I was told I would be called back. Yes, a call was made to me, I answered it, music played while CR left me a voice message so she would not have to speak to me bc the message stated no actions being taken just that IF I need help to call back tomorrow and ask for another person. UNBELIEVABLE! Macy's has ruined my special day preparations, called me a liar, refused to correct their error immediately, now pushing me onto an unknown. I'm so upset! Me & mine are fighting now bc of this. Macy's has destroyed my checking account. How would you like to miss $2000 without your knowledge? Thank goodness, I check my account daily. Macy's needs to be accountable and apologize to me monetarily. Nothing less. Return the unauthorized aka stolen monies and pay for my sufferings. I will never do business with Macy's again. I keep forgetting this mall exists. It's a good mall if it's down the street from your house or you need to get a specific item at a specific store. Otherwise I usually stay far away from this place if I want to shop around for a few hours or hang out with friends. I'm sure it has been renovated over the years, but it just doesn't match up to the level of Arden Fair or the Galleria. But some people like that (like local high schoolers) so shop where you will! It will always be less crowded, so that's a huge upside. Otherwise it just doesn't have the more upscale vibe I like to feel when I'm doing shopping. read more

Its Sunrise Mall...you know going their what to expect. Its not the galleria and its not arden either. Its smalller than all the malls, but continues to have the same stores over the year. Every couple of years they moved the kids area, redo the seating and put up different fountains. It doesn't change though. I do miss the enormous train station though. read more

Macy's, See's Candy and Sears for gifts and Red Robin for lunch occasionally, that's all I seem to go here for. Never any trouble parking. Mall is always empty except for Christmas time. Enter and exit from Sunrise E. Way via Fair Oaks Blvd. park by Sears side or Macy's women's entrance in back and avoid Sunrise Blvd traffic. I miss the Saturday morning Farmer's market that the new owners kicked out sometime last year. read more

Not busy or ghetto as Arden Fair Mall.

I grew up with this mall in from 1970's through 1990's since it was the closest mall to Placer County residents. Unfortunately Roseville Galleria really killed it. Came here on MLK for shopping and was surprised how dead it was. Many store fronts are closed. There are about 25% of the stores that have survived from when I remembered. They removed the center playground area which is a shame because I think that brought people out and a positive energy of laughing happy children. Maybe liability was too great? Anyway, I had always enjoyed the simplicity of this mall (long rectangle single level) and ease of parking which still is true. The store selection has gone down obviously especially when you see flea market type stuff in a spot. It reminded me of Florin mall or country club when they were on the way out. The cheap movie theater is still open. Since I live in Roseville, this is a bit of an extra drive for me. It is nice for those who don't like crowds because there is none. I went to the galleria afterwards and it was a madhouse there. I think Sunrise days are marked unless they can do some serious marketing but the problem is location. There is no easy on/off freeway to get there. It takes lots of street lights to go through. I mourn the loss. read more

Gag Pros - Four dollar movie theater is a fun inexpensive way to watch movies that aren't quite new, but aren't on DVD yet. Other pro....it is only about 15 minutes away from the Roseville Galleria. This mall is only one story, and the "variety" of stores (if you can call it that) is pithy at best. Even the mall food court has very little options, and sadly, two of the five restaurants are taco bell and subway, and then a panda express knockoff. I'm sorry....save for Sunshine gifts and a typically friend working staff at the pretzel place, spend the extra $4 of gas for a roundtrip visit to Roseville Galleria. I have more fun shopping at Walmart than walking around this dismal excuse of a mall. read more

I grew up in Fair Oaks, and through the years whenever I needed to go to shopping, Sunrise Mall was my go to place. It is where I learned to put on makeup at a Macy's cosmetics counter. It is where my brother and I sat on Santa's lap for pictures, it is where I got my ears pierced, and shopped for my wedding day and honeymoon. Yes, it is a small mall but it is comfortable and easy to navigate. I know where everything is. I just went Christmas shopping there with my husband and realized, now that I live further away in Elk Grove, the sentimental value and the convenience of this place. In the age of internet shopping, I want to make more of an effort to patronize this Citrus Heights institution. I also remember the inexpensive little theater there where I would sit alone and watch movies when dates fell through or just was in the mood to be alone. I urge others out in the suburbs to skip the Galleria or Arden Fair and go to Sunrise Mall. read more

Whoever put up the initial business info has no clue how to use google to check addresses. And also thinks Sunrise Mall is full of shoes... Anyway, this mall is awesome. Twenty minutes on the bus and bamf, I'm there. It's not terrifyingly and missing persons report huge, and basically all the stores worth visiting in my book are there. One of the best Hot Topics, one of the best Taco Bells, the only thing they're missing is an Apple store, which means when my computer decides it's a lame ass, I have to get my ass out to Arden. read more

This mall can use a major renovation. If you want to avoid the crowd, this is your dream mall. It's dead most of the time. Getting there isn't half the fun. It's far from I-80 freeway. Local street traffic is a nightmare during early evening. Because of the lower foot traffic, the shops here tend to carry items that aren't available in other stores though. read more

When I was a little girl, my family and I lived in South Lake Tahoe and we would make the drive once a year to go school clothes/shoe shopping-Sunrise Mall was the place to be! Now, as an adult with 2 daughters, we frequent this mall only out of convenience (we live less than 10 min.) and for specific needs-mostly to go to the budget movies ($4), Lane Bryant for me (this store has a better selection than Arden), Macy's and Children's Place. Other than that-not much else draws us. It is run down, many overpriced no name shops that smell weird or old/dusty. The Santa/Easter Bunny is good and less busy than other malls. I checked out the Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights on Veterans Day to a) get some early Christmas shopping done and b) re-visit Chinese Gourmet Express, which also has a location at the Del Monte Shopping Center that my mom took me to as a kid. This mall is basically the anti-mall or mall for those who hate the typical, fancy crowded malls like Arden Fair Mall or the Roseville Galleria. It reminds me a lot of Vallco Mall in Cupertino right before it started to go down the toilet and everything shuttered. I definitely saw my fair share of shuttered stores here at this mall and there's not much to see or do here. They also have a lot of weird, unknown stores and businesses here in this mall, such as Affordable Rugs, Love Your Hair, Happy & Nails, and both Sam's Jewelers and Samuel's Jewelers. Hell, they even still have an Orange Julius open, which surprises me because I thought most of them are gone now. Even though it's more crowded, I rather go to the Arden Fair Mall because it has a better selection of stores and it's closer to where I live than the Sunrise Mall. read more

I came here at 9 a.m. to walk around the mall for some exercise before all the inside stores open up. While walking I saw something at a store I liked and stopped and looked at it for just a few seconds through the window. I was then approached by some guy (Janitor-Security Guy??) who was holding some trash bags and he says to me "Can I help you sir? No looking at items through the window until the mall opens, please keep walking.".. My initial thought response..."So should I just keep my eyes closed while walking?".. Anyway, now I know why half of all the stores have closed down. This mall is runned down, the buildings look dilapidated and unkept, and the Paul Blart wannabe janitor security guard was unfriendly. Go clean some toilets buddy! Great job Sunrise Mall for chasing away potential paying customers. I hope the city of Citrus Heights shuts you down for good and bulldozes all your buildings. read more

Came here this past Saturday to get some new kicks with my friend. This place is really going downhill fast. I haven't been here for about 10 years and couldn't believe how many of the stores inside look like they migrated from the flea market! We were looking for some Puma's and couldn't find any at a good price, drove over to Marshall's across the street and found some! Yeah! I really hope the mall gets their act together. Small Mall, only one walkway that not branch like other malls do. Plenty of parking, but there or a lot of stores in here I would never go into. One thing I do like about it is the movie theater, which is $4 per ticket all day every day, although the movies are a couple of weeks behind most of the other theater's release dates. read more

I was recently just minding my own business and went into a shop by men's Macy's by shoe palace and Zumiez when I walk in nobody is there and a few sec later the owner comes in and ask what I'm looking for and I ask so you have any sac shirts and he said yes and show me some that were black and gold and I was like do you have any black and white t-shirts and of all sudden he went off on me telling me saying why of all you people say you want that Item but then don't want it why don't you say you don't want it and was like you're funny nobody gets black and white..... ps "adidas" anyways he was like you want the shirt or not and I said no then he told me to get out and I was like okay and told him that's why nobody like this store and told me to fuck off and I told him the same thing and then he told me to leave the mall so I did because I didn't want things to escalate can't believe my own childhood mall this would ever happen to me but I'm still goona go to mall either way he can't stop unless y'all want to get sued read more

I love Sunrise Mall, not only because I have awesome memories of growing up in Citrus Heights and "kickin it" at the mall every weekend! Sunrise Mall and Birdcage were the place to be! Everyone used to cruise back and forth--it was awesome! I digress... Sunrise Mall is no Arden Fair and it's not all fancy like the Galleria. It's much smaller and waaay less crowded. But, that's what I love about it! I always find a decent parking spot close to the entrances and I'm not bumping elbows with people while walking around and shopping. It is somewhat past its prime, but that doesn't ruin it for me. Sunrise has all the stores I want in a mall--Bath and Body Works, Claire's, Sephora, Foot Locker, Victoria's Secret, etc. They have a decent food court... with a Cinnabon! Thank you geezus. What's a mall without a Cinnabon, right!? They also have a UA movie theater inside that plays older releases for $4. The theater, like the rest of the mall, is a bit outdated but you can't beat that price. It's always clean and well-maintained and those pesky kiosk people aren't as pushy as other places. I almost always see some type of security when parking, so it seems pretty safe. Overall, Sunrise is my go-to mall. I can get all my shopping done in one place minus all the craziness. read more

I can't remember the last time I went to Sunrise Mall but this Christmas I stopped by to buy a gift and kill some time. Sunrise Mall has some shops but not many. Inside it looks very old fashion with awkward tile floor coloring and dark color walls so it wasn't appealing. There are many cops parked outside of the mall probably due to the crime recently. After this trip, I am glad I don't come to this mall often. read more

The mall was pretty much empty the last 2 times I have been there. There were a lot of empty units and the mall decor was dull and uninviting. Overall, the mall is outdated and the directory of stores is lacking. Even the food court (my favorite part of a mall) leaves much to be desired. I mainly come here for the Macy's Home Department for their linens and bedding, hence the stars. The Macy's Home Department here is like any other Macy's Store in general, minus the crowds. Nice clean and thanks to the Roseville Galeria, almost always empty mall! You can always find close parking. Security and parking patrols are out and about. There is the cheapest little movie theater inside and plenty of food options. I'd rather come to this mall anyday over Arden (horrible parking and always crowded) and Roseville. The Good: There are a *few shops" left with good customer service and it's actually hard to find good customer service at the entry level generic places. I come to this Mall for the very reason that it is *NOT* very crowded even during the holidays, and since I really hate the "holiday rush crowd" I've pretty much gone here for years just for the holidays. The recent December I went to the See's with a gift card and the cashier was friendly, and patient with my indecisiveness unlike many other places I have visited (I just stop going to places that seem impatient with this). I appreciated this. I went to Express, because they do have cute "business casual clothes" and that is what I was looking for. I told the lady that worked there when she asked what I was looking for and she actually brought a good selection of clothes that actually worked for me. It was like I had a personal assistant shopper, and I hate trying on clothes because they look so much better on the hanger and it depresses me, but I was able to actually get a good selection of the clothes I tried on. *The one thing I didn't like is she seemed a little desperate, and that made me a bit uncomfortable ( still I don't she was working on commission, I think she was just bored). Still I liked the convenience of getting in and out of there fast, and at least she wasn't unwelcoming, I'd rather have it too attentive than totally dismissive. The Bad: The only other store I frequent is the Womens Macys has discounts and cheap clothes and I feel that with the store you actually get what you pay for. My mom bought me a nice coat last year for the holidays that was deeply discounted and the inside of has a bunch of holes in now after wearing only for one winter season. I feel like I could get better quality or just as cheap for the same quality at Ross. I don't take good care of my clothes though, so it doesn't really matter to me that they aren't of that great quality but if I wanted to by a nice dress or suit, I think I would hesitate now to consider that store, because I feel like there are some things I better just bite the bullet and get the more expensive option for at least decent quality. The Ugly: My mom just went to the Mens Macy's today and apparently customer service was rude. The issue: my mom bought my brother a coat last Christmas 2011 that he never wore until now and lo and behold the security tag is still in there. My mom went back to the Macys to try and return in and the associate that handled got mad at her and told her she should have returned it earlier and went looking in the system to see if she actually bought the coat and apparently couldn't find the receipt or whatever. I know customers can be difficult, but my mom goes to the Macy's a lot, has the rewards card, etc and the fact that she started yelling and venting to me about being treated like she STOLE IT, PISSED ME OFF. First of all, I don't want to hear it, even if the guy/girl did think that, it's too late to do anything about it now so at least take the damn tag off (which they did..eventually) and don't get defensive about it just because they weren't the ones who didn't do their job the first time. The Men's MACY's aint shit, it's been too empty for a long time, for anyone to get away with stealing their clothes, and it's not like it's not "cheap enough" anyway. They can't compete on quality, quantity, etc so the LEAST THEY COULD DO, is at least HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE that isn't a BUNCH OF ENTITLED PRICK ASSHOLES. Seriously your job may suck, but if that's your excuse your whole life for doing a shitty job, you might want to ask yourself maybe your just getting back what you put in, and the reason you'll always have shitty jobs is because you always DO a shitty job. I feel like the Sunrise is going to close down soon and considering what they are offering I ain't sad about it.Now the only 3 stores I feel like going to are Express, See's, and the shoe store. It's kind of sad because I've been going to the mall since I was a kid and there was a time when it wasn't a pile of dung. Now it has a few diamonds in the rough but I think with the general attitude and downtrodden economy, there isn't really anything that can save it. read more

One of the few malls I love! I've been here quite frequently from childhood to adulthood. This mall is not overly crowded like Arden Fair. Parking is a little to none hassle (at least every time I've been here, which must be some major luck since I visit frequently) Ghetto? Maybe customers from time to time but hey it's the people that make a mall seem 'ghetto' doesn't mean they're bad people, after moving to Stockton 'ghetto' means 'ghetto' in a bad way. I love the choices in the food court and to be honest not a lot has changed! I wouldn't have it any other way though, i'm glad this place hasn't gone down hill entirely like some other malls. A lot of good places to shop! One of the many great memories here was when I met Ryan Sheckler and a bunch of other professional skaters at an event years ago! Hope they have more great events! It's sad where the mall has gone. The mall was just sold to another company who let many employees go before Christmas. They let go the general manager, the 3rd manager in charge, both security director and asst. security director, the cleaning manager, many security and cleaning employees. They have just a skeleton crew at the mall now and it shows. They did not keep the Citrus Heights Police Department at the mall who kept crime down and made the customers feel safe. The crime has soared and will rise to where I will not visit again. Very very sad. Management needs to better market and bring in more businesses and more customers. read more

If we look at the backward history of this mall this was just fantastic having all necessary items. This was the cheapest mall of the town so i liked it. The most important thing of this sunrise mall is this is cheapest and it carries a lot of market share because of the excellent service provide to customers which satisfy their needs but unfortunately its market share has been destroyed by the e-sites. But still it is fantastic because the one drawback of the e-sites is that product delivered is not of the quality not of the color pattern which was seen on the site. This mall covers this drawback.
