I'm a Costco girly through and through. Yes, the lines are long. Yes, I walk in for one thing and come out with a cartload I swear I didn't need. But you know what? Worth it every time. They've always got quality fruits and veggies, bulk meats, paper goods, soda, and random seasonal treasures that somehow end up in my cart (don't judge me). I like to do a big stock up trip once a month... everything lasts, everything's fresh, and the deals are great. Staff is usually friendly, the store's well organized, despite the chaos, and let's not forget the best part... samples!! Nothing beats discovering a new favorite snack just by wandering the aisles. Every time we order pizza for a gathering, we place the order the day before or early that morning--and it's never ready on time. Today was the last straw. It's my daughter's birthday party. We ordered right when they opened for five pizzas, scheduled for 1:30pm pickup. We showed up on time... and ended up waiting over an hour. The pizzas still weren't done. At this point, the party might be over before we even get the food there. I understand things get busy, and I wouldn't have minded a 30-40 minute delay. But waiting an hour and a half and missing most of the party? That's not okay. I don't understand the point of offering advance ordering if you can't have it ready anywhere close to the promised time. There were several other people there dealing with the same issue, so it's clearly not a one-off situation. They really need a better system--don't take more orders than you can handle. Stopped by a couple weeks ago to grab a pizza, and the first thing an employee tells me is that I "would be renewing" my membership, which was about to expire at the end of August. Not asked--told. I get that reminding members is technically helpful, but the tone made it feel like I was being barked at rather than assisted. There are polite ways to give a heads-up before checkout without turning it into a power play--this wasn't one of them. Costco still has decent prices and the pizza is good, but experiences like this--combined with past frustrating encounters--make the visit unnecessarily unpleasant. I'd go somewhere else, but this is the only one conveniently close (and I'm not risking my life in the Stanford Ranch one's parking lot), so I tolerate it. Still, the way staff handle customers at the entrance is annoying and frankly rude. Not trying to be petty, just hoping management sees this and does something about it. read more

Stopped by this Costco gas station on my way home. This is definitely one of the older stations, as it is only 2 pumps deep. Due to the limited pumps, the line here can unfortunately get pretty long. However compared to the Bay, prices seem to be cheaper here for gas. read more

Wanted to take a little scenic drive, so I drove from downtown Sac to Citrus Heights for discount gas. $4.09 regular for my 12-gallon tank. Enjoyed driving through suburbia in springtime. Plenty of small fields, trees and birds made for a pleasant outing. Didn't go into Costco store this time. Saved myself $80-$200! LOL read more

I love coming here for some things but I don't like the fact it's always super crowded and crazy in the parking lot and also in the store. The staff are always super friendly and helpful and nice. And I love that they always carry new things as well. There currently redoing there food court area. Also there's always a problem with there card readers when you try to pay with your atm card or extra . But other than that the store is always clean and the staff are always super nice and helpful and friendly and the service is good as well. I have been coming here for many many years. read more

My boyfriend decided to get his new tires at the Costco Tire Center. It took 4-5 hours for them to change all 4 - way too long (he arrived at 5pm and left at 8pm). He asked for the manager and a female manager came out to talk to him and didn't do anything to help. The mechanic who worked on his tires, Alberto, took way too long, he didn't start putting the tires on until an hour and half after my boyfriend's appointment. He then finished the tires but left my boyfriend's car hanging up to go on break. At this point, the store was going to close within an hour and my boyfriend couldn't do anything but go inside to Customer Service - since they also closed the Tire Center garage doors. He was able to talk to another manager to get his car and the only compensation is a slice of pizza. After getting his car, the tire pressure was too high and weren't even cleaned/ polished. Please don't waste your time getting your tires done here - we loved shopping here but now it leaves a bad taste for us. read more

On the same day of my other review, my relative and I visited the Costco warehouse in Citrus Heights, California. After purchasing and eating food from the food court, we were instructed by a Costco employee named Johnathan that we were required to exit the warehouse entirely and re-enter from outside before continuing to shop. While this instruction was given to us, we observed other customers who had also eaten at the food court re-enter the warehouse directly without being stopped or given the same directive. This inconsistency was clearly observable and resulted in us being treated differently than other members in the same circumstances. I want to be clear that my concern is not the existence of a policy, but the uneven and selective manner in which it was enforced. When policies are applied inconsistently, it undermines member trust and raises concerns about fairness and professionalism at the warehouse level. Given Costco's reputation for operational consistency and member respect, I believe this matter warrants corporate review rather than resolution solely at the warehouse level. I used to love this location, but now that they have removed the scan guns from the self checkout lanes its super slow. Very inconvenient for the customer to have to lift bulk items across the scanner. If you want to punch in the bar code, you have to wait for help and they are busy helping other customers with the same issue. Bring back the scanner guns! read more

Definitely appreciate the fast and helpful interactions with the staff when they help you check out of a chaotic costco ASAP. Demetrius was kind and super quick in assisting us today. He scanned everything with lightning speed and sent us on our way in a kind fashion. Liz is always nice as she checks out your receipt to make sure you got everything you bought - I swear she wants to say hello but she is counting so her hello will be delayed and will be followed by a witty and hilarious comment as you walk to your car. Demetrius and Liz always have great vibes - so glad they rescued the feel of costco after my last visit, in which I encountered a fight-seeking cashier who decided she would make sure every customer followed her orders, despite them not truly being policy. read more

Needed help with getting a cherry tree in my cart and asked a clerk to help me so friendly and helpful and in my way out I asked for help lifting it into my car the person told me to just drive my car up front & once I got there the clerk was already waiting for me and gladly layed in my car for me. Store is always busy but clean and checkers are always fast, friendly and efficient. I've also called in the past to find out when certain stock would come in and admin staff always friendly in ph. I bought their new muffins this week. And 8 pk for 6.99. They've changed their packaging. You no longer need to buy 2 which is great. I bought the pecan muffins. They don't taste very much like butter pecan and they crumble when eating them. The old recipe of muffins, held together but these totally fall apart. Shmeh! Then I ordered a chicken Caesar salad at the food court and he put in for the chicken bacon sandwich. I was so tired I had to ask my friend what I ordered cause she was standing there and she said the salad. I just took it home for my husband. Other than the bottleneck entrance to the gas station, it is fairly smooth. Open 7 days a week, see pictures or Yelp for specific hours. I'm not enthused with their ordering system when ordering from the food court. This is the second time that we have purchased food from the food court from this location, and our order had been lost, or misplaced. For example, we ordered from the kiosk in front of the food court once, waited literally 20 minutes for one slice of pizza and a soda! Everybody who ordered after I did was served and already gone. Another time we were at self check out and we have to select our own food now the staff don't do it anymore, which is fine! But after ordering from the self checkout line, we get to the pick up in front of the food court, and again! Our order is lost , and the guy is stressed out who works there, he just says we're gonna get to yours soon really soon. Your order is coming soon! As he frantically shuffles through the cards of orders, the tickets, he can't find our ticket. I don't know what's going on with this place but waiting 20 minutes for one slice of pizza and then almost 30 minutes for two hotdogs and a slice of pizza is a little ridiculous read more

Costco is a great place to grab a good deal, but the customer service has really gone downhill! I recently visited with a couple of my kids to purchase a heavy-duty cart. We spent over 30 minutes trying to find someone to help us lift it--no luck. When we finally did get assistance, the employee just left the cart at the front and walked off. At checkout, I asked for help moving it, and was told, "Someone in the front will help you." With a baby in my arms, I managed to pull the cart out front myself, where the door person barked something at us and told us to wait--then completely ignored any questions I had. After standing around for a while with no help, I ended up having to drag the cart to the car and lift it in with the help of my 8-year-old son. Costco used to care about its customers, but ever since 2020, the service has noticeably declined. It feels like they've grown too big to care. Instead of offering help, they're more focused on pushing premium memberships. Very disappointing experience--I won't be returning to this location. read more

When we realized we forgot an item and wanted to go back, he stood there, grabbed our basket, and said, "You guys can pay." I'm sitting here for my second tire installation appointment in three days because the tire center put someone else's tires on my car. Their resolution? Not even a refund of the cost of one tire. Not to mention that the tire center called me after the store was closed to pickup my vehicle and I was given the run-around by staff at that time. One staff member even called me a liar stating, "the tire center isn't dumb. They know that if cars aren't picked up by 8:30-9:00 that you have to get them the next day. Don't lie to me. You're not getting your car tonight." The only reason I got to take my car home that night was because a sweet young woman shagging carts went and alerted Josh, the store manager, to the situation. I received a call on Saturday, while at work, from the tire center stating that I needed to come back as soon as possible because they installed someone else's,differently-sized tires on my vehicle. The earliest I could come back was Monday, as I work out of town. When I arrived today they offered me $25 of store credit to make up for the two appointments' worth of time, poor fuel economy, and possible damage to my vehicle. I was again shuffled through different staff members to reach a manager who "made some calls" and could offer me $100 back - each tire in the set of 4 was $183 - I am really disappointed that this is the level of service being offered at the Costco Tire Center. My business will be going elsewhere in the future, somewhere where they will pay enough attention to put the tires I purchased onto my vehicle. read more

Tires are a good deal and they don't have a lot of additional fees. The free tire repair isn't worth much because they are so busy. My tire was going flat and they said they could fix it in FOUR HOURS. My tire would be completely flat by that time. I took my car to American Tire store and they fixed it in about 25 minutes. Free. 8 pack of scissors?.. You got it. Tub o Vaseline?... You got it. Reasonable prices for lots of consumer items. The only frustrating thing is that Costco occasionally for inexplicable reasons stops stocking one of my faves. Costco is my first stop for Coffee beans, Glucosamine, cheeses, club soda, romaine lettuce and other items. Occasionally they have great deals on seasonal wear. However, I have a heads up. The seasonal clothing sells out early and fast. If you want a swim suit, better hop on the Costco train in February or March. Come June and "They be all sold out". Same story with winter wear. Shop early or shiver. The boneless leg of lamb is great and is our go to Christmas and Easter main course. One last thing. They have a wide selection of Television panels. My advice is to stick with OLED. Side by side comparisons of colors etc in the store is meaningless as each TV manufacturer uses a video that makes theirs look eye popping. However you will not be able to get that viewing experience color wise in your own home. That said, Costco TV's are a great deal. read more

The older white gentleman was breathing down my family's neck, we made a joke about the scanner and weighted table being weird and he immediately got defensive . It definitely felt racially motivated as we were the only mixed race family and the other customers around were white, and he could joke with them but was upset with us. If this location could stock octopus like Expo and somehow keep fresh (and regularly stocked) my favorite salad kits and heirloom cherry tomatoes, I'd vote 5 stars! Staff is alright. I've never before needed to ask for boxes. There's a first for everything. Hahaha. Selection is good as far as Costco selection is concerned. They move items around but it's not too crazy, usually. Parking lot is less tolerable than Expo but at least here I don't have to deal with the obnoxious yellow trip-me, bother my feet and vibrate my hands off the cart ground bumpers when I exit the store. They have a garden center that sells 6-7' noble fir trees at Christmas time for about $60-70. And other garden greenery in spring to summer. Otherwise, inside is normal greenery offerings. No pot - for the dingleberries out there. Pharmacy staff are kind though I love the Expo pharmacy staff best. There's an optical center but haven't used it here. Food court has limited selection like they all do during covid19. Pay at register or at self-pay kiosk (card only at kiosk). No membership needed. Same for buying alcohol. As long as you're over 21, no membership needed to buy booze here. And they can have some very good prices on booze. ;) Just went in today and was excited to use the new self-service checkout. Works great when you have just a dozen smaller items. Didn't have to wait behind the full carts! I don't think there's a limit to # of items, but more of a practical matter as the space is limited. They're at far left when walking to the registers. Oh, the sample people are back. Problem is they're just a tease. No samples at this time. Dang Gov. Nuisance and this ridiculous covid19 thing. Customer service is good and even with lines I get in and out of this Costco at a reasonable time. This location always has what I am looking for when a few other locations I always walk out missing items because they don't have any.
