I never imagined I would be writing a review for a lumber company. The fact that I am hopefully…read moreresonates and speaks volumes about my experience at Savemore. One thing I realize as I grow is how business has changed literally everywhere, especially when it comes to personalized customer service. This is a thing that appears to be gone in the big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes stores. Being that I am Transgender, perhaps I worry about this factor a bit more than others because I am in a class of people that is not the common everyday people. Maybe you would not think it matters but it REALLY does. There are many people and probably a majority of people that do not yet understand so some people can be rather standoffish, confused or even very rude. In fact, most people haven't figured out how to address trans people yet. It is sad but it is true. Because engaging with people can be awkward at times, I have gotten used to cracking a quick joke or two about myself during this process to more or less get this out in the open, add levity or even remove the elephant in the room. It seems to work well for me. I looked at my Sales Associate and said, "Yall must not have many Trannys come in off the street to buy lumber." He looked at me and said, "No, we really don't. In fact I have never met one before." We both got a pretty good laugh and he really became great to work with and treated me with respect. My Sales Associate was a young man named Brett Burdick. When I entered Savemore and after a friendly greeting, he offered to help me with the long and arduous task of planning a rather huge deck. I was struggling with a rather crude illustration I had made to explain what I needed to assemble my project, Brett smiled, took my drawing and said, "Let me help you with that." He began clicking away at the computer and after a slightly uncomfortable and silent five minutes, he handed me back a printout of building materials I would need with a price and everything. I was so relieved, the printouts even included screws, lag bolts and flashing. He had thought of every detail and it was under my budget. This was absolutely paramount to me as I barely knew what I was doing and as you can probably guess, this was a very intimidating process for me. In my mind, Mr. Burdick really stepped up to do his job at the risk of fellow employees perhaps assaulting him with bad tranny jokes after I had left the store. This is just a reality and these things happen more than you can imagine. I think it is just a way for people to deal with something they don't see on a daily basis. I thanked him for a good experience, for treating me so well and most of all for making me feel like a human being. It turns out Brett Burdick's family owns this company. A very good company with a very friendly culture. This really is huge because as you know, in any organization culture breeds from the top down and all the employees at Savemore reflect Brett's friendly and helpful attitude and I would never shop for lumber or building supplies anywhere else again. Even if Home Depot was cheaper which it really is not, the service I continue to get from Mr Burdick and staff is simply worth more to me than being ignored at Home Depot. I could go on and on about this company but they is so many hours in a day. This is an important review because I feel like I made a good friend that day and smaller companies like Savemore are getting rare. I really hope everybody sees this and goes in to buy from the Burdick family and continues to support this family built business. You will be glad you did. If you run into Brett Burdick, please tell him Breezy, his new Tranny friend sent you in. I am confident you will both chuckle and you will have a great experience at Savemore Lumber. I hope this heartfelt review helps and if you made it this far, thank you.

I've been involved in the high end residential, commercial and ecumenical…read more construction and remodeling industry for decades. I've personally supplied museum quality, photo replicative, hand painted faux marble and faux exotic hardwood finishes on columns, pilasters, ceilings, balustrades, doors, plaster statuary, etc. both nationally and overseas. I've visited showrooms and manufacturing facilities aplenty. Yesterday a craftsperson guild I belong to, had the great good fortune to be invited to Mario and Son in Liberty Lake. We were warmly greeted by a very charming young woman Michaela, and shortly thereafter the owner, Joey presented himself in the most humbly gracious manner I've ever experienced in the CEO of such an impressive facility. The floors were spotless, and every wall, corner, and display reflected a very high degree of forethought and incredibly accomplished artistic expression. It usually takes a lot to impress me, but to call this place a class act, doesn't begin to encompass the depth and breadth of the presentation. I've worked for and with, what would be considered the captains of industry over the years. Names that would be universally recognized and respected for their wealth and accomplishments. My experience wasn't always pleasant, and in spite of my many years of artistic experience, dedication and ability to successfully complete monstrous projects with impossible deadlines for very difficult to please clients, at the end of the day, I usually felt somewhat disrespected. Joey didn't know me from Adam, but we connected immediately, and after I noticed a snare drum near the espresso station, found a mutual interest in membranophones, and playing music. Soon our group was touring the showroom filled with huge slabs of the most impressive calcium carbonate I've ever seen. The care with the storage and handling of these massive pieces made the ones I drive by daily displayed in a parking lot, pale in comparison. Joey spent over two hours patiently answering a myriad of questions, and showing his incredible talents at imagining, and executing carved art and statuary, both traditional and extremely visionary. In spite of my typically being the star of the show that usually dominates conversation with my clients, I was brought low in comparison to the awesome accomplishments I witnessed. I had difficulty speaking at several points during our visit, and had an uncanny sense that this fellow and what his family have built, have renewed my faith that in this country's modern culture of immediate gratification, self absorption, and false recognition for non accomplishments, this experience gives me assurance that true artisanal dedication is not just something only found in the old world. I will never forget this experience, and feel extremely grateful to have encountered such a degree of high frequency accomplishment.

My wife and I bought a Pental kitchen island + range countertop from Mario and Son. Everything was fine until a few years later when the countertop cracked on an inside corner of the sink cutout. This isn't a defect that can happen from standing on the stone, or from temperature abuse. Mario agreed to replace the countertop. Although it was a hassle to arrange for everything, we got it done. 7 years after that, the countertop cracked again in exactly the same place. This time it has taken me a year of calling and emailing week after week to get them to honor the 15 year warranty they promoted when they sold their stone. Once this happened, Michaela and Sierra tried to charge me $2800 for fabrication, installation, and disposal. They saw my warranty claim as an opportunity to exploit me for profit. I was incensed and asked them to stand behind their product, telling them I would cover $1000 of the replacement cost. They told me to pound sand. I have since regretted ever using Mario and Son, vowing to never darken their door in the future. I suggest you do the same.
