My kiddo had been going to Sunrise since her very first visit and had really grown to love everybody there. She looked forward to her appointments after years of building trust and familiarity and unfortunately, we have to start that process all over somewhere else in the middle of Covid. Covid has made it hard for everybody and sometimes the unexpected happens but this email is mildly heartbreaking if you're the ones on the chopping block. Just as it states, Their facility is so beautiful, the Dental team is amazing and caring, and they take the latest and greatest approach to pediatric dentistry. All of that is true and if you're not one of the Medicaid patients you'll continue to receive nothing but the very best. That commitment to treat and care for every patient as she would her own child is just going to be for non-medicaid patients. If you can afford to bring your child here then do because they are wonderful. If I could afford to pay out of pocket I would in a heartbeat. I'd have loved to keep my little one here but this email is so unfortunate. It was not written with the thought of how excluded this would make Medicaid families feel. Yes, we are a low-income family but we are every bit as deserving of the amazing care Sunrise describes in this email and will provide to non-Medicaid families. There was a much better way to word this and go about this change in general and that's what's really disappointing. I told my daughter that Dr. Crespi stopped being a dentist altogether rather than explain that she's just not going to be her dentist anymore and she was still upset. If you have very deep pockets, this is the place to go, because their primary focus is earning your dollar. I have had only two different types of insurance over the last seven years. We have been kicked to the curb twice by them because they stopped taking anything besides premium plans. I have good dental insurance but it wasn't grand enough for them. As a fellow health professional, I understand needing to make a decent living. They take that to another level. Customer service: expect the bare minimum. The front office staff are annoyed at any questions and don't have the time or patience to explain things. There is a lack of professionalism there paired with a deficit in caring. The dentist doesn't do patient education, at least not for us. I have been going there for 6 years because of location convenience. I realize I can find mediocre care with overblown price tags anywhere else around the area. Unorthodox practices/charges: they charge exorbitant prices for preventive care for children. I won't go into detail but it is worth getting a second opinion before succumbing to their treatment plan. I should have done so sooner! Also- if you don't leave a review, they will send you texts at all hours. I have received multiple asks for leaving reviews past 7:30 PM. We are happily switching my son to Affinity dental off of Colfax and Colorado. I love my dentist there and they have been great with my son with I bring him along for my appointments. Please think twice before going to this pediatric dentistry. The pediatric expertise has yet to be demonstrated in anything besides the price tag. read more

Not a good first dentist experience for my 15-month-old. The whole time in the exam room lasted just a few minutes with no time for my son to get acquainted with the tools or people. The doctor put tools in his mouth as soon as she sat down despite his pursed lips and cries. We had to work really hard on a good tooth brushing experience at home and this was a big step in the wrong direction. We will be seeking a new dentist for him with more patience and care. read more

Going to the dentist can be very traumatizing for both adults and children but this place sets everyone at ease. The staff is very patient and kid friendly. My son was very "combative" when it came to doctors and dentists when he started coming here over a year ago. He now loves going to the dentist! The staff has always been super patient and understanding with him. Even answering a million questions (with no hint of being annoyed). All of the equipment was his size (he's 4) and they even made him feel so comfortable that he took his last xrays by himself. They were even able to do a flouride treatment without him even noticing. I have taken my daughter for years to Sunrise dental. The dentist is great. They are very gentle with kids and offer lots of perks for them- tv on ceiling, free toy after, games etc. They also do a terrible job with the billing. I had a problem before and they credited my account (did not refund just credit). I took my daughter in again today and once again they over billed me. I tried to explain the issue but hate to make a scene. They itemized but hand wrote over what the correct billing amount should have been. It is a shame. I will not go back. If you do not care about the bill being correct and paying extra, (do not pay attention to invoice) then you will never have a problem and will be happy with the care. otherwise buyer beware read more

As a Pediatrican I was anxious to bring my kids back to the dentist during the COVID pandemic, however Dr Crespi and her team exceeded my expectations. We had a very personal one-on-one experience where we were invited into the building separately, met at the entrance of the practice to be screened (they took our temperature etc), brought into the practice through a private door and seated in a separate area. All of the staff were friendly and patient. Additionally, everyone had on N95 masks, with surgical masks covering them, and face shield. We felt completely safe and cared for, and my kids still had an awesome experience getting to watch their favorite movies and receiving a toy at the end. Dr. Crespi is a fantastic pediatric dentist. Our two sons, (4 and 1 years old) love going to visit "Dr. Liz". When our 4 year old finally slept through the night without sucking his fingers, he said, "I've got to call Dr. Liz, she'll be so proud of me!" He looks forward to each visit. I brought both of my sons for cleanings and then my younger needed to have cavities taken care of in multiple appointments. I'm a bit baffled by the other reviews because my experience was not as good or pleasant. The dentist was always in a frantic rush- she didn't explain things clearly to me or to my child and he was scared. Honestly, that frantic energy does not help kids feel calm. She came swooping in and started drilling, talking about getting the sugar bugs. He was crying through one of the procedures, saying that it hurt and she just told him to sit still and keep breathing the nitrous- but I have a suspicion that it wasn't working and it really did hurt. He was 5 when this happened and now has a fear of the dentist- I don't blame him at all! Afterwards, we have received no follow up calls or reminders for check-ups. Dr. Crespi and the office staff are friendly and welcoming from the minute you walk in. It's a calm, relaxed atmosphere; which really helps the kids to stay calm. The office it modern and clean, with a cute play and tv area for the kids. It was the second time here for my now 2 1/2 year old son. Although timid at first, he quickly started feeling comfortable, as everyone was gentle and explained everything they were doing to him. He opened his mouth without fussing (which we always struggle with at home). He received a few 'rewards' after he was done and didn't even want to leave the office. The best most compassionate doctor!!! My son chipped his tooth yesterday and couldn't eat or drink without pain. I was looking for a dentist appointment ASAP and was recommended this practice. When I called the receptionist was extremely helpful and understanding she gave me an appointment for the next day and my son was seen by doctor Crespi. Not only did Dr Crespi take my son as a last minute appointment she also stayed way past her office hours to repair his tooth and make sure he was comfortable pain free and was able to eat again. Not to mention my son was not an established patient before today, and still we were given an appointment and were given the incredible attention and service by Dr Crespi and her team. My son is 8 and the entire process was pain free and an overall great dental experience. We are definitely going to be using Dr for all our dental needs. She is fantastic!!! read more

Unbelievable dental experience. Open on a Saturday which suits my M-F 9-5 schedule which was a plus. I walk in with free coffee, bottled water, and health juices waiting for you in the refrigerator. I had to fill out initial patient paperwork (I could have done this online prior but I was too lazy), but it was super easy and I did it while sitting in a massage chair. I was greeted by very nice staff and taken to a private back room with probably the most comfortable dental chair I've ever sat in. When the dental assistant reclined the chair I was greeted with a high definition TV staring at me so I got to watch "How I Train My Dragon II" while the cleaning was performed. I had 1000's of movies I could've chosen from. Dr. Crespi was great too! Even though this is a pediatric dentist's office by name, she was well-versed with my dental concerns. It was just so easy and convenient. I'm just so glad I found my Denver dentist. read more

I was in for cleanings for my twin 6 year old boys. Dr. Crespi told me one of my sons needs 3-4 crowns and I said I just simply can't bring myself to pay $5,000 on his baby teeth. She kept questioning me "so what do you want to do" I asked if fillings would be an option to which she replied saying yes BUT that they would break and he would need crowns anyways so I really need to do the crowns. I said well, I really don't want to spend that type of money on his baby teeth so I would consider fillings or just waiting as his teeth aren't bothering him and he never complains. She replied "so you're going to wait until your child is in pain?!" I said well, no I'm just hoping it won't get that bad since he hasn't complained yet. She proceeds to harass me and says "what are you going to do" about 10 times, tells me that she'll refer me to a low income Clinic and asked me in front of other staff if that's something I would qualify for! So incredibly rude!! I say no, we could afford it but it's just the principle. I tell her I would just rather wait and pull the teeth if anything. She didn't like that answer either. She then tells me she will refer me to another dentist because she can't do anything to help me!! I was BLOWN AWAY. Am I the first person to say no to a $5,000 treatment for baby teeth?!?? I can't believe she kicked me and my 3 kids out (I had my 1 year old in my arms throughout this entire conversation) and said she will not treat us anymore. I am seriously blown away by this woman, and all because I said very nicely that I don't fee comfortable investing that much money into my sons baby teeth that aren't bothering him!!!!
