This daycare has made a huge turn around since the previous reviews. The director Destiny came in and got on top of things. The staff was always amazing but more structure definitely seems to be found. My kids started in the baby class with miss Kim and Charlene (they're so great, my son loved them both so much! So much care in what they do) then transitioned to the ones class with miss Ebone and miss Celina (who are to AMAZING TEACHERS BTW!) and now he's almost with his sister in two's! My kids love their teachers real bad, including: Miss Papiya, Miss Shelby, Miss Carmella, Mr Davie, Miss Caitlyn, Miss kenedi... just some of the teachers my kids knows by name lol. They're an awesome staff and I was very hestitant to bring my kids to daycare but I have not too many worries since going here. Both my kids are under 2 years old and know their full ABC's, count up to 20, know all their colors, my son developed his walking skills better here, I can just go on & on! There hasn't been too many cons but school is school so things like getting sick etc etc were things my pediatrician had prepared me to realize might happen before even enrolling them in day care, but I will say sickness doesn't run to rampant here. The food seems boring but they're going by state reg. So u have to respect it lol so set aside from those things... not too many cons. My kids aren't rough kids (I hope lol) so I don't find cuts or scratches on them very often but that's just my babes!! And to note for the super helicopter moms like me who like call baby sitters every hour -- there's an app you can stay updated on & also they're on top of incident reports, diaper notices, etc etc. I truly truly love this place and staff and so do my babies!! ***CHECK THE DES WEBSITE B4 ENROLLING!*** I've been holding my tongue since the first two weeks--since the first day my daughter got a black eye at this preschool. On the DES website, I found that there is a duplicate case involving another child that is similar to what happened to my daughter. This preschool needs to be closed. There's no question. The director resigned. Prior to that resignation, there were multiple bruises, scratches, and cuts that happened to my daughter, in addition to a black eye. My daughter also mentioned that another child was bullying her, yet the preschool does not proactively provide incident reports. The former director showed a lack of leadership. I don't understand why this preschool is still operating. I have serious concerns about the children enrolled there, especially regarding the sub-director, DOMINIC (the new sub-director). Her behavior has been unprofessional. She has walked around in socks without shoes while on duty, which even my daughter questioned. When I ask questions, she often does not have answers. If she does not know, she redirects me to the teacher, and the teacher also says they do not know. This means no one can clearly explain what happened to my children. She does not communicate professionally, does not listen, interrupts, and shifts blame onto the parent. Her responses are often unreasonable, raising concerns about her role as sub-director. I have also observed teachers using their phones. When they are not on their phones, they are often chatting and not fully supervising the children. My children have eczema, and I provide their food. However, one of the sub-directors, Heidi (from a different branch), strictly monitors whether the food aligns with CACFP-approved meals, to the point that I questioned whether my children are expected to go without food while the program focuses on funding compliance. This preschool has serious issues. I want to raise awareness for other parents considering enrolling their children here. Based on my observations, this preschool lacks proper training and supervision. Staff appear to be hired to watch children but are not adequately trained. I am not confident that all staff are trained in CPR or first aid. I have asked the former director and both sub-directors about the cameras, and I was told that the cameras do not record and only buffer for about five minutes. This raises additional safety concerns. They are often unable to answer parents' questions and tend to provide vague responses. There are a few teachers who genuinely care for the children, but most do not. There are many new teachers, and only two consistent teachers assigned to a class, while the rest are constantly rotating. I have also observed staff raising their voices at children and not treating them with patience or kindness. This preschool always misorganized the kids' stuff. As a parent, I don't have time to find or spend 10 to 15 minutes to find my children's stuff. And this preschool has been like that, to the point where the parents need to ask all the teachers, where are the children's stuff?, where is the lunch bag? and they will ask each other. So this preschool misplace a lot of stuff of the children's here. read more

This company has horrible billing practices. I am often being charged multiple times and when I ask for it to be resolved it doesnt by there leadership team. I ask to speak to corporate leaders and all I get told is that they dont speak to customers. The next time they over charge me I will be suing the company. Avoid this daycare at all cost. read more

Go some place else! This school used to be great with great teachers and directors. Teachers are not provided with help needed to care for all kids in their class. As a parent I no longer get reports on my kid. The app they use has not been functioning for months. My son has now had 3 teachers and it seems like there is new staff joining everyday and leaving everyday. The director has no business working with children or parents. My kids started here almost a year ago. To be honest, since the change in staffing about 3 months ago this place has been a dream! I absolutely love it here for my babies. To see my children practically run to the door every morning, reassures me of that. I appreciate Ms. Shameika and the staff for staying on top of things. It's a little late but my son went here a year ago and was in the 1's classroom. I'm not sure if his teacher is still there but Ms. Michelle was so great. Actually both the teacher's in my sons classroom was great. They were obviously so interactive with the kids. Not just there to supervise but everyday they were playing with the kids and giving them all tender, loving, care. It was hard for my son at first, but he got comfortable with his teachers eventually and they were so great and patient as he transitioned. I'm writing this review late because not many parents are leaving reviews for daycares and I think it's so important to get good reviews especially trying to find someone you trust watch your child. Fast forward to this year, I had to put my son back in daycare. Unfortunately they had a waitlist for the 2's classroom so I couldn't take him back to this location. But I took him to another Sunrise Preschool and they are also great people. I really recommend! read more

WE NEED TO SPEAK UP !!!!!!! My son is sustained psychology sickness which led from his physical injuries at this school . There are so many abusive children reviews about this school and parents should be aware of before sending your kids here . My son was here for two days and he went home with "human fingers " bruises on both Arms . He kept saying " it hurts " and was scared of going back to school . The teacher admitted that she "shack" my son arms and tried to put him to sleep . I filed a complaint but The school has never responded to us and not even an apology or explanation of what actually happened with my son . We got the police Involved but the school director was always absent with all excuses. All they did were to tell us the teacher was suspended for investigation and I'm not sure if she is coming back there now . Even though they sent us an investigation email but Everything was just A LIE. NOTHing has been done at ALL. The ignored and hided stuffs . Everything at this school is a mystery . IRRESPONSIBLE and CARELESS preschool EVER .. Now , my son is suffering school obsession with isolated and anxiety behaviors at his current preschool according to a teacher . If I could give 0 I would. I enrolled my son in your facility located at 1628 E Broadway Rd. On 1/20/20 today was his first day in any daycare for the one year of his life and first day attempting to wear shoes of any kind. He had a rough morning being his first day. This is understandable with any child. However, upon returning to the school this evening I was informed that he could not return until he was able to walk. Which I assure you, he can. He has just had a rough time with the shoes. Nonetheless, I was informed he could not return unless I could prove he was able to walk with or without shoes. So, tried putting him on the floor to walk. Of course, being upset I left him all day did not attempt to walk at all. I asked the assistant director if he was able to stay in class while I worked with him wearing shoes. Because I assure you he can walk and while he gets use to the class. The answer was no, I was told to work with him for about two weeks and then let him come back. Basically this leaves me without child care at last minute for tomorrow. After, I just paid $270 for his enrollment and the rest of this week yesterday. I would not like to bring him back in two weeks. The fact that this organization was unwilling to work with me in anyway is a disgrace to the daycare industry. I would like a refund for the amount full amount $270 I paid to receive one day of child care. I will take him anywhere else. M.P. Please let me know when I should expect the monies owed to me. My Daughter currently goes here. As a new mom i was nervous about leaving her with anyone or anywhere. The teachers are amazing and my daughter loves them. They work with us on things she struggles with and always keeps us up to date with how her day was. She has learned so much and i love seeing her show off her new skills. One of our worst fears came alive during their playtime outside on 09/07/23 around 8am Kyrie got hit by another kid on his head with a plastic toy so hard he bled on his shirt and onto his pants. Now, when I got there to pick him up between 230-3pm is when I found out. His teacher pulled me to the side and told me what happened, immediately I went to go look at him and noticed a gash on his head and blood on his pants. I asked why they didn't call me? His teacher said she told the director Shamekiah, that they should call me but ultimately the director decided not to because they stopped the bleeding. I asked why he was still in his blood spattered pants when I had 2 spares in his backpack just in case of accidents? No response back, and while speaking to the director she admitted herself that was the reason she didn't call, that it wasn't that serious and he's was still acting normal. After i was able to clean it myself there was a hole in my sons head. A HOLE. I asked what happened to the other child who hit him and all he got was timeout because they didn't believe it to be malicious and I'm beyond words.. I do not understand what in anyones mind thinks it's okay to not call the parents when something happens to their child. I stated that it was very concerning that I'm just finding out about this after picking him up and that I wanted to see the video. Of course she wasn't able to get it for me right away and at first Shamekiah told me i could see the video and right after that her boss told me we would need a court order so there isn't even correct communication between Shamekiah and her boss Lori. Shamekiah lied and said it was a scratch I'm furious and heartbroken that he had to go through this, and no one knew except for them. I'm sad my baby was hurt and sat in blood stained pants ALL DAY. Needless to say he will never be going back here and we went to get him looked at, they glued the hole together and he is wearing a bandage to keep him from scratching it. My three and half year old daughter has been attending Sunrise Preschools for almost six months and I've purposefully waited that long to write a fair review. This school is all we could hope for and more. The combination of the best nutrition and natural environment you will ever find PLUS amazing, creative and caring teachers. Sunrise is fantastic for its play-based early childhood development, awesome campus.Communication between the school/teachers and parents is open and consistent. The teachers are trained in and follow an "emergent curriculum" model which means they explore what the kids get excited about. We love this preschool and have been very happy with the staff and policies. It is a very caring environment and my daughter is always happy. Choosing a preschool is a big decision but this one made the choice easy! read more

Worst pre-school ever. I took my kid out of the program after just 2 weeks. She came home frequently with scratches on her body. There are some violent kids and it seems there is no one to supervise. A very high child-teacher ratio. The teacher seems just a babysit and was not able to provide details of any art or maths activities. My daughter felt scared of going there after a week. When given a week's notice, they refuse to prorate the fees even. Kindly do enough inspection before enrolling your kids there. Definitely not recommended. read more

Tempe location, has an amazing Professional staff, very clean rooms and play areas. They are so awesome and experienced with the children ages 2's, 3's, and 4's. Ive seen so many children here transition so quickly and advance ahead with still keeping balance of challenges too. This school was fantastic! Till they weren't.... my girls have been here almost a year. I was so happy with their teachers and the directors. The "school ager" teacher, Miss Christina is a saint! She genuinely cares about these kids and I am so grateful for her. Miss Ofelia and Miss Briona were equally amazing. Miss Ofelia works hard on preparing kids for the next level. Miss Kay is the best! She's so communicative, and always wanting to work together for my children. Miss Shannon, the assistant director is also amazing. Having her through my first year as a working mom was awesome. Because of these teachers, I tolerated so much more than I should have. I stayed longer than I should have because I believed they'd do better and do the right thing by my daughter. Unfortunately, they weren't enough. My 4 1/2 year old daughter has dealt with abuse from the same child since Nov. I understand young children go through these stages, learn differently, and it happens. I was more than patient. However, since the last time they bumped up to the next class (Miss tyana) it has gotten progressively worse. My daughter comes home with cuts, she's been punched in the face, slapped in the face, pushed, kicked, etc. not once did I ever get a report, I was told verbally what happened and who did it. I was told "we'll handle it". Finally, I had enough, I firmly told Miss Kelly, the director, I wanted something done. I shouldn't have to worry about my child's safety while I'm at work. We had gone from incredible communication with previous teachers so ZERO communication with Miss Tyana. I asked that something be done about this other child and I asked for more communication. I would like to know about my child's behavior (no, she's not perfect), so we can work on it at home, What she's learning, what she's eating, if she napped, etc. I was assured she would talk to Miss Tyana and I'd get more. All I started getting was incident reports. Seems as though my daughter is getting hit almost every single day now. I have gone 45 min out of my way on lunch breaks, my boyfriend and ex husband often regularly stop by to check on my daughter. They are never doing what they are supposed to be doing in class, the teacher is often on her phone. They're all thrown in a room aimlessly, zero structure in this class. The answer from directors is always "I'll handle it" "I'll see what I can do", never an action plan, nothing to make me feel like that actually care about my child's well being and safety! I couldn't be more disappointed in the lack of action with this center. I really loved it there and so did my girls. I didn't think I would ever feel comfortable about my child's safety and well-being if I had to put her in daycare. My 20 month old daughter Maleeya has been attending for over a year now and all I can say is impressive. With the closed circuit cameras in every room, secured entry, a staff with sharp eyes and warm hearts; I'm confident that Maleeya will be cared for and nurtured as well there as she is at home. I can't say enough good things about this school. My son has grown and learned so much since he started attending and has made many friends. The teachers there are very kind and caring and the classrooms are always clean. My son rarely gets sick or hurt since switching him to Sunrise and I know it's because they maintain consistent cleanliness and watch the kids very closely. My son has been attending this Sunrise Preschool since he was about six months old, and my wife and I are very happy that we brought him here. We had taken tours of a few other preschools in the area, and none of them had a staff as outgoing and personable as Sunrise did. The staff is very proactive in communicating our child's needs or issues to us, and I can't recall ever having had picked him up in a frustrated or angry state.
