She previously lived at a corporate assisted living facility, where she received terrible care compared to Home Eldercare. The facility is a single family home with pleasant yard and deck, large living room, and private bedrooms. Every meal is prepared in the kitchen, including special dietary needs. All of the routine needs (periodic checkups, podiatry, blood tests, etc.) are coordinated by Home Eldercare, with a visiting physician, so I did not need to manage any doctor appointments etc. The management and aides are always patient with clients with dementia or other issues. They are very careful to avoid egress, control medications, avoid contagions, etc. I heartily recommend Home Eldercare on Orchard Street for anyone needing full-time, long-term care. Before the move took place, we had a great meeting with owner Joey Lynch-Flohr who explained that he came up with the idea for Cobbdale when his own grandmother's health started to decline. The houses that he has built are beautiful, and perfectly equipped for each resident, as well as featuring a beautiful sunroom where family members can visit with their loved ones. Meals are created by a professional chef off-site and then prepared daily by the house staff. For the private room/bathroom: You furnish the room as you want it for your loved one, and they work with Hospice / Medicare to bring in special equipment - such as a hospital bed, if needed. Our mom's room was large, with two walls of windows, and plenty of room for 2 dressers, a TV, bed, nightstand, and recliner chair. Her bathroom was equally large with a walk-in shower. As for the staff, I can't begin to exclaim how wonderful they all are - and overseen by Atta (nursing) and Gabi (household). The kindness, compassion, and love shown by all of the Cobbdale staff to our Mom in her dying days is something that I will never forget and always appreciate. My mom has lived at Chantilly Heights for over two years, and I'm sharing based on that firsthand, ongoing experience. My mom has lived at Chantilly Heights Memory Care since December 2022, and our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Fun fact: she earned the rare distinction of being the first (and to my knowledge, still only) resident to move herself in - meaning she was physically fit enough to do it with me and a U-Haul we rented together! I spent six months researching facilities before choosing Chantilly Heights, specifically looking for a community dedicated solely to memory care (rather than combined assisted living/memory care facilities). After experiences with two other facilities and reviewing many more, I became convinced that a specialized memory care environment would be best for my mom. Chantilly Heights (then known as Arbor Terrace Fairfax) has consistently proven that belief correct. When I first toured, Cre Jackson, the Facilities Director, was the first person to take me around. Cre set a welcoming tone from the start and has remained a trusted advisor ever since. Rachel Moore later guided us through onboarding and did a stellar job walking us through every step. While Rachel has since moved on (as another reviewer noted), my experience has been that from the front desk to the kitchen team to management and care staff, the people at Chantilly Heights genuinely care. It's clear for many that elder care isn't just a job - it's a calling - and the emotional intelligence they show daily is remarkable. That said, no place is perfect. There have been periodic staffing changes (common in this industry), and about six months after my mom moved in, Arbor Terrace divested, with Hamister Group taking over and rebranding the community as Chantilly Heights. That transition brought challenges, but through it all, the team - particularly Executive Director Brian Zurakowski -remained committed and supportive. As the only child of two parents facing late-stage degenerative disease, I can say this journey has been made far more manageable thanks to the team at Chantilly Heights. I believe strongly that contractual relationships should be rooted in fairness and satisfaction, and Brian's team has more than upheld their end over the last three years I've been involved with them. During my mom's time there, she transitioned from the higher-functioning to the lower-functioning neighborhood, giving me a full view of the community's care across different needs and stages. Based on this experience, I've confidently recommended Chantilly Heights to several friends - and two have since moved their own parents in. Unfortunately, since the facility became Chantilly Heights and the management changed, particularly under Latoya's leadership, our experience has been completely different. There is extremely high turnover among both management and staff, which has resulted in a lack of consistency and continuity of care. It also seems that many staff members lack the empathy, attentiveness, and genuine concern that the residents deserve. We frequently walk in to find staff members on their phones while residents are simply sitting at tables with little to no interaction or engagement. Seeing this is incredibly upsetting, especially when we remember how much the facility has changed from what it once was. It is truly heartbreaking to see a facility that was once so wonderful decline to this extent. Our loved one, and all of the residents, deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion, attention, and respect. The current level of care and management is simply not what we experienced or expected when we first joined Arbor Terrace.

I could not even run across the street. Dr. Tran has tried and proven techniques and always had the same goal as I did. I just had my left knee done and walking on my own in about three days. Stationary bike week 2 (no resistance) and the knee scar is a work of art. I scar terribly, but not this time. Rode my street bicycle two weeks after surgery.

When I told him that I needed some time to think about it and discuss it with my husband before making a decision, I felt his attitude changed. As a healthcare professional, I believe it's important to respect a patient's need to take time before making a financial decision, especially when it involves a significant investment.
