James was responsive, excellent communications from the entire team. Folks have given bad reviews without realizing that towns hold up install with permit issues. It is a delicate balancing act to orchestrate all of the teams needed to complete installs. James is the conductor, you are in good hands. These guys are top knotch installers who know their trade. No money out of our pockets AT ALL! All we do is kick back and enjoy the savings. Locked in at a lower energy rate when we do use power from the grid. No increase in taxes and insurance. They pay for the taxes and insurance. 20 year worry free system. They maintain and repair the system for the next 20 years. (Even if your kid hits it with a football ) Easy standing practice established IF our roof ever needs repair or replacement. One time fee for them to move and store them. I'm not selling this. Was promised a system that would produce over 100 percent to cover my usage in the off season, to earn credits to gift and to compensate for the panels loosing efficiency. Was also sold on being able to add panels at any time . Reality after signing contract is sales rep is no longer there my system does not generate enough to cover off peak season and nothing to gift. Talked to customer service got absolutely no help from them. Was put in contact with sunruns senior expert Dalton Clarke. He informed me my system was designed to run at 88 percent . Leaving me 12 percent shy having to depend on the utility company. Asked if I could add more panels to bring me to 100 percent so like originally thought to not rely on utility company. Answer was no. I have clearly told Dalton several times what I was told from the sales rep and his answer was always the contract is valid , never acknowledging the fact I was misled . Taking no accountability at all for his employee. With my experience with sunrun and Dalton Clarke it's my opinion to steer clear of sunrun! read more

We've had our solar panels for a couple of years now. The salesman convince me that we were going to generate enough power from our solar panels that in the summer we would generate enough that by the time winter came we would have no electric bills. That of course proved to be false so I called up and they said oh wait another year you signed up at the worst time of year. So I waited another year and now I have $650 electric bills plus paying them for the panels every month. Everything they said was a lie every smile I know this is going to be great is all bs. I would do anything to get rid of these panels. Do not trust them for one second. When they say sunrun you should run! read more

inept placement and panel design, lower than promised power generation. non-existent customer service. I had SunRun install solar on two homes the first has way less panels than required for typical use, roof has an entire pitch not used and yet another porch roof that could be used. they claim they couldn't put panels there. so promised generation was 70 percent of use. and while waiting for second home to get their installation going, noticed 1st home not even generating close to 70 percent!!! sales guy claims cloudy days, winter, bla. la, but that surely new install will generate MORE, so you'll have positive credits to apply to home number one's short generation. We know they can "break" their iwn placement and panel rules because they told me nearly same thing in home number two, saying roof sag prohibited using both pitches of roof or spreading them out... Roofer came and pulled off ridge vent to provide phot evidence that roof was fine. Miraculously they all of a sudden COULD use both pitches and spread panels as that's how home two solar instal WAS completed... breaking their own rules. did home two power generation provide credits to cover home one shortfall??? buzzer sound nope that's not doing it either! so calling customer service, yielded zero help, beginning with Cory the install power up rep.... got the classic "it's not my job" response. next was calls and text chats with customer service, customer engagement and you pick a title. since I have to keep repeating the issue (because no one takes notes) after eleven yes eleven agents I still have no promised call back from a manager and no resolution. the agents were Victor, Santiago, Dayana twice, Fernanda, Fabian, Abdee, Juilieth, Mayden, Sam, and others... nice folks! horrible Solar customer service capability. At one point they actually claimed I was to call Cory. I laughed. That's where this all started!!! lol But I did anyway, and again got the "it's not my job" response number two. They seem nice but nothing ever comes to fruition. The final straw for me to write this was the dialog with Julieth who promised a tech manager appointment asap. she claimed (and I fell for it yet again) I would be getting a call or email she promised.... That was a Friday afternoon. Friday night (same day as speaking with Jukieth) I got an unsigned Sunrun email saying the case has been closed!!! With zero explanation and zero resolution of the core issues!!! First being sub promised power generation (not by a little, by 90 percent). Issue not resolved! Second being no friggin call back EVER from the promised manager. And there were even extraneous sales calls coming in mid issue, that kept masquerading as issue calls!! ***They are school kids in a garage using tin cans and string. This operation is soooo poorly run and sooo vapid of any interest in helping customers that I say don't SunRun Just Run run run away if you see them coming. Horrible. Sub professional, uninterested, and lacking real solar expertise in design. read more

I have never solicited any quotes from Sunrun and was approached by two young men while I was painting my fence in Sept 2025. I told them I was not interested and asked them to leave my property SEVERAL TIMES "nicely" and since they kept on "selling" something I did not want I told them to get the Fxxx off my property and don't come back. The jackass, as he was leaving, said "I wont be back but my 100 employees will". I yelled out "don't harass me" and he flipped me the middle finger as he was driving away. What a loser!! I made a report with the local PD about their harassing, threatening behavior to me. read more

I have been a Sunrun customer since 2021. We have had issues and concerns with a number of customer service and overall technical performance areas. Recently, we had our Tesla battery which was purchased from Sunrun with our Sunrun system completely die in less than five years. This problem was exacerbated by a supply chain issue. But over the course of my conversations with Sunrun I was repeatedly told this is really not a Sunrun issue because this is a Tesla battery and it is not the company's responsibility. This became the overall theme with everyone from untrained and unknowledageble reps who lacked any empathy for the situation to people at the top that proved to be snakes. One of these people, Joe Nath, a top customer realtions employee said that we would have a conversation about compensation, which he said was owed to me for the technical issues and the way I was treated as a client. Speaking with Joe last week after the new battery was installed, he determined that he could give me no more than $150 dollars for my trouble and time. I called this amount insulting and to date have not accepted the check from the docusign documents given to me to absolve Sunrun for their issues. I have had solar with small companies like Apex in New York. Their customer service team was amazing, attentive, and empathetic if there ever was an issue, which was rare. Sunrun, one of the largest solar providers is a completely different experience ran like the people that represents them, shady and incompetent. read more

Installed system initially work as advertised for the first three years (Jun 21 - May 24), but system stop working in May 24. Although ensured by Sun Run they would monitor the system for problems, I had to contact the company that the system was not functioning. It took nearly a month to get a technician to troubleshoot the system, who determined the system transformer required replacement. From August to December and from three different case managers all I got was the part is on backorder. Finally, in December the part was made available and an install date was scheduled. Install date came - today- and now the inverter requires replacement. Again unknown when part and technician will be available for this repair. AVOID Sun Run! read more

We were customers of Vivint Solar which was bought out by Sunrun. We had had our panels removed to replace a roof. We have been waiting since December for a reinstall. We have reached out on at least 5 occasions, asking for communication on a plan. We stated that we understood that things are slow, but please communicate where we are in the process. We spoke to a supervisor and said this is not working out, just remove the panels that are sitting in our yard... his response... have your lawyer call our lawyers. We were shocked. We have been loyal customers since 2016, and surprised by the recent lack of customer service. We continue to await a plan to remedy this situation. read more

After hours door to door sales. Ignored property signage. Not following city ordinances.

I am writing this review on behalf of my elderly stepfather and mother in Plymouth, MA. The process of dealing with Sunrun has been difficult for them from the start. Many Sunrun blunders have occurred, but most importantly they have a signed contract for 21 solar panels and 2 inverters. They have only received 20 solar panels and 1 inverter. The installers are just there to install, so my stepfather called the company immediately and was told they would look into it but received only an apology from an unknowledgeable customer service agent. He has called on several occasions thereafter just getting the run around, "a we'll look into it" continuous response, and STILL NO answers! The panels were installed on May 12th 2022 and here it is Sept 29th 2022 and they have gotten ZERO results. Make this right, Sunrun!!! read more

While I loved the concept of solar and the numbers based on future energy seemed to make sense the reality is it would be much cheaper to simply purchase a 100% green option from a power provider. vivint has a terrible website for customers and while someone may get a better rate then I, my deal has turned out not to be very good. I't costing me more for every KWH generated. read more

STAY AWAY FROM VIVINT SOLAR!!!!!!!!! I wish that I never selected this company to put solar on my roof from this company! I signed up for solar back in October 2014 and it is now October 2015. I setup 4 appointments with them to install the panels...My husband and I work full time so I asked my mother to come from CT to be there...Vivint cancelled with me 3 times and it was on the day of install...Not only did they not show respect on peoples time but my mother had to come from CT 3 times. 3 times is not a charm for this company. The 4th time they finally showed up...got the panels on the roof....then it took another 3 months to get someone to hook up the electric. Once it was hooked up, it failed inspection due to they put a wire directly on my roof and our town inspector rejected it. Vivint was suppose to come and fix it and then get the inspection done. 2 months later I go to my town hall and they inform me that Vivint has not contacted them to re-inspect the electrical. I call Vivint and they said oh sorry....Now I am the project manager for this and they are making all of the money...really???? Finally I get turned on...Did I say that someone showed up a month later to fix our electrical issue (it was already taken care of)...this company has no clue on what they are doing....So I Log into my account and nothing is showing up that I am earning anything from the solar...I call finally and they troubleshoot the issue...It is their equipment that failed...I thought that they were going to monitor their equipment...Did not know that I had to babysit this stuff. I called to speak to someone as I want to be compensated for all of the headaches and crap that my family and I have been through. Was told that a manager would call me back....Yeah right....Not going to hold my breath on that one....If I were you, I would STAY AWAY from Vivint Solar. There are PLENTY of other solar companies out there.... read more

This has been the worse experience I've ever had in dealing with any service orientated organization. I was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks from installation , 8/7/18 ,to actual start up of my $70,000 system. As I write this on 2/6/19 this system is no more than a decoration on my house. Don't believe the CEOs promise to delight his customers,its no more than lip service as was anyone's response I have talked to. I have not even received a follow up call on what is surely the most ridiculous installation and start up you can imagine. Awesome experience. Our neighborhood in Rehoboth started adding solar panels to some of their homes. We met with Josh Poulet from Vivint to go over our options for our house. We were able to put the panels on the back side of the house for better ascetics but still enjoy the savings and environmental advantages. Through out the install Josh was constantly involved answering our questions and addressing our concerns. We have a negative balance with National Grid now, less than a year of having the panels installed. We recently listed our house for sale and the company has worked with us 1000% to make the transition to the new owners of the house easy and straight forward. I highly recommend Vivint and Josh Poulet. read more
