Dishonest owners. We bought a $29 Groupon for 2 nights of boarding several months ago, but let it expire. On the Groupon, it specifically says, "The amount paid for this voucher ($29.00) NEVER EXPIRES." The owners would not honor the $29 paid, even though the Groupon specifically states that the value is valid. The owner, Joyce was mean, demeaning and argued that, "she doesn't make money on the Groupon, so therefore she's not going to accept the value." They are not good people. I've checked out a few boarding places for my dogs and this place is still the best I've come across. It's about as luxurious and upscale as a dog hotel can get. When you first walk in you'll see an inviting and comfortable lobby decorated with a large throw rug, ornate furniture, and paintings of dogs and cats hanging on the walls. Behind the counter is a large window that looks out into the play area. You'll also notice a lot of TVs around the play area that are showing dog movies and cartoons. PROS: - 3 large indoor play areas for small, medium, and large sized dogs - an indoor grassy area (that's changed daily, I believe) where dogs can pee and poo - private 'suites' available for overnight stays - friendly and competent staff that genuinely seems to love dogs - feeding times are based on a dog's normal eating time - since everything's indoors you don't have to worry about dogs getting overheated during the summer CONS: - It's the most expensive boarding facility I've used. Sometimes I spend more boarding my dogs than I do for my own vacation. My dalmatian isn't always the friendliest dog, but she still loves coming here and socializes with the other dogs. Both of my dogs get plenty of exercise and are always exhausted from running around all day. They're located in an industrial park just east of the airport. They used to have another location that was easier for me to get to on Rainbow and Sahara, but that location closed down about a year ago. read more

I've read both ends of the reviews on this boarding facility and I have to err on the side of positive rather than negative. I dropped off my jack russell terrier there for one night and have no complaints. They are more pricey than I would like to see, but the facility (in a large business park warehouse) was large and was comparable to Pet Smart's hotel. You make up the price difference when you consider that the dogs are constantly socializing and playing with each other for most of the day. You don't have to pay extra for the socialization and it gets your dog out of its pen. For my small dog, I did have a small pen, which had its own cot. There are tvs scattered around showing dog related cartoons and programming. There are small, medium, and large sized play areas, depending on your size dog. You can see some of the areas from the front desk at check in. Both at check in and at check out, I did see an "accident" or two on the floor in the play area, but given the amount of dogs that were running around, I'd say that's probably only natural. The staff members were very friendly, and I will book space there again next time I'm in town. Is it a perfect location? No, but I have yet to find one that is. It's getting there, however, and I would have no problem endorsing it. read more

Besides the friendly front desk staff, things I love about this place: *Separate areas for small/medium/large dogs. My tiny cavalier loves playing with her yorkie friends without fear of getting run over! *Staff is around at night *Staff has been open to working with our dog's "shyness" and using the same discipline we use at home *convenient to the airport! Perfect for picking up/dropping off for boarding *LONG hours. 7 AM - 7 PM 7 days a week. If your flight gets in at 5 PM on Sunday, don't worry you can still pick up your baby! So many places are closed Sundays or have limited hours. Cons: *So far just the price. They have allowed us to purchase a package of daycare for $20/day but boarding is still $45/day. Very steep. We've used this place for a month (1 weekend + several days of daycare) and my cavalier just LOVES this place. We pull up and she runs out the car excitedly. She runs into the arms of the desk people and hugs and kisses them as if they treat her better than I do! Overall if you have the cash to spend on your little one, this place is 5 star all the way! So nice to know it's cage-free all day so your little one can play to their hearts content. read more

This is the best and only place I would leave my dog. I love that they have special rooms for dogs and cats. They also have 2 different play areas for big and small dogs. They keep the dogs on a very tight schedule and will do whatever you need to take care of your animal ( medications, special food etc.) I left my baby here for a month and called them every day to check on him. They always said he was fine and happy. We love putting our dog in the Presidential suite or one step below if that is already booked. This place is pricey, but animals are like children. I would pay anything to know that my dog was safe. I checked out ALL of the dog hotels in Vegas and I found this one to be the absolute best. It is also right behind the airport, so it is very easy to do a pick up if you are flying. read more

I was super impressed by the passion and desire to impact every pets life that this entire staff portrayed to me during my consultation. I felt so comfortable in the boarding suits that I knew my corgis would feel comfortable too. I'm an OCD dog mom and my three corgis mean the world to me. I decided to take my 2 dogs and my disabled cat to daycare while I moved. The staff was friendly and quick at checking them in. My cat had peed in her kennel in the way there which I informed them of and before I could finish, they told me they would clean it out and not to worry. I received updates regarding all 3. They all ended up staying the night and I expected to pick up 3 unhappy pets. They are super spoiled and clingy. I can't even go into another room without them so an over night at an unfamiliar place, i thought was going to be traumatic. Not the case. Everyone was happy and healthy. I definitely feel comfortable leaving my 3 babies with them and know they will be loved and cared for. Reasonably priced. They are very quick to respond to emails as well. Comforting. I needed to find boarding for my two cats while I was away for a family vacation, and I didn't want to just put them into a kennel. I saw they were close by and had good ratings so requested a quote a couple weeks before the date. Patti (the owner) responded promptly the next day, so I thought "great start!" My older cat has medicine and she said it would be administered per instructions at no charge. They normally feed twice a day, but you can also supply your own food (recommended) and specify any amounts of course. Two days before the vacation one of my cats went missing, so when I informed them it would probably end up being only one cat booked one of the employees (Maggie) immediately offered to help post the cat's info to help search. While the brat managed to find her way back a few hours before I had to leave, that sort of offer is greatly appreciated and shows how much their employees care about all animals, not just the ones they're boarding. Pics on website can be misleading. We have a special needs dog and we though this would be the "very best" we could offer him while we visited Las Vegas.(very expensive = very nice line of thought) We got him an executive suite, a private room so he wouldn't be hassled by other dogs. We picked him up after two days, his blanket and toys were covered in urine and they missed a day of meds. I was informed pets will pee on their stuff when upset. Did it ever dawn on them to clean it up or maybe take him out for "potty breaks". Very disappointing. This place is best for active dogs who are very social and used to laying in thier own waste, I would not advise to friends or family. As for the " no cage" claim the only differance is a fancy gate in place of chain link. read more

UPDATE: So today, two days later I go to pick up my dog and Joyce claims I owe her more money for the stay. I already purchased a groupon, in which they accepted when I dropped my dog off. When I arrived to pick up my dog, the owner Joyce, told me I owed money and that I wouldn't get my dog until they were paid. Long story short, I called for a peace officer. The owners also called and claimed I was being a "crazy lady" and that I didn't pay my bill which was again, paid for with the groupon. I also have a video of this and per the officer the only thing they can do is take me to small claims court. She was mad because my friend took his dog there with a groupon as well, however the groupon does not have any restrictions for this. The groupon states 1 groupon per person. I did get my dog without paying the additional money she was trying to collect but it's important to heed this review. While the concept of place is a great idea, the business doesn't keep their word and the owners are very unprofessional. Even after agreeing to keep the dogs per the groupon, they tried to force me to pay more money when I picked up my dog causing a very unprofessional scene. I would suggest leaving your animals with a loved one or somewhere other than here. read more

This is a very cute place for both cats and dogs. We boarded our shih tzu Teddy there for 4 evenings. This is only the 2nd time Teddy has ever been boarded and I was a nervous wreck. Maggie sent me pictures of Teddy playing. He is very picky about drinking from a water bowl and didn't drink there but I think he did his whole thing where he didn't eat or drink enough because he came home and downed a bowl and a half of water. He appeared to have so much fun, as he didn't want to come home Definitely will bring Teddy here again in the future. read more

I am so glad I found this place!!! The staff was extremely friendly and sweet, the place was clean and organized and soooo reasonable!!! They were very understanding of the fact that my husband and I are doggie parents, not pet owners. They showed us around and let us take our girls to their room, where we were able to say good bye properly. I called everyday to see how they were doing and they gave me real updates, not generic ones. I also arranged for their groomer to give them a bath before I picked them up and they were perfectly groomed! After spending the whole weekend there, they were happy and relaxed, not anxious at all!!!! Also, when I was checking out, 2 different dogs arrived for day care and they were pulling to go in!!! (that's a great sign!!!) What a relief to have found this place!!! Next time my husband and I go to Vegas, we are driving with our girls and will leave them there again. I have my doubts about America Dog and Cat Hotel. When I picked up my puppy after a recent stay, I noticed his rear end was wet. I asked why he was wet and I was told they had to wash his 'bottom'. It wasn't until I got home that I saw the there was still fecal matter on his butt where they attempted to wash him. So I proceeded to wash him again. My dog is over three years old and well house broken, and I wonder where he got the fecal matter. Was he left to potty in his suite, or did he pick it up from other dogs? Either way, it is totally unacceptable. The question remains. Shortly after we were home, he proceeded to urinate on the carpet. The daily fee for staying at this place exceeds $80 per day, and you have to pay for the day you drop off you pet, AND the day you pick him up. In other words, if your pet just spends the night, you are charged for 2 days lodging. What a rip off. Although I have two days remaining on my pre-purchased package, which they refuse to acknowledge (pre-purchased package of 13 days, minus a 5 day stay and a 6 day stay), I will not lodge my dog there again. I care more about the care and welfare of my dog, than him having a TV in his suite. Before I had a chance to complete this review, I had to rush my dog to the Vet with what amounted to a severe eye infection, and a $139. Vet bill. This was the second day he was back from boarding. read more

I have 2 pugs that I guard with my life and I feel that the staff here does the same. Whether I'm away for 9 days in Maui and calling everyday to check in or just dropping them off for a day of doggy daycare fun and excersize, the staff is always welcoming and happy to oblige my every need. They smile and dote over my babies, what could be better! And of course, the most telling sign that this is a GREAT place is the reaction I get from my pugs when we pull in and they can't get out of the car and inside the door fast enough! :) Super highly recommended by this pug owner! read more

Took our precious little guy here for a "trial night". We were worried because he's a rescue and he can be a little dog aggressive. But Joyce was wonderful and patient (with us because he didn't need it). But she understood that we are nervous pet-parents. This is a family owned and operated business, which I like. And, it was truly immaculate which really impressed me. The dog's hang it in "size appropriate yards" during the day and they all seem to enjoy it. We did a lot of research and called about 12 places in the Las Vegas area before choosing America Dog and Cat Hotel to board our cat for two weeks. They have the best value for the space and the care that the cats receive. Patti was great and really made us feel at ease as we were apprehensive about leaving our cat for such a long time. She even sent a couple emails updates while we were away to let us know he was doing ok. You can tell that she really loves the pets she takes care of. It is my understanding that she is a newer owner of the facility and she is making some updates to the interior of the building as well. I have been bringing my 2 dogs to America Dog and Cat Hotel for years and one of the reasons, a very important reason, was that there was someone on staff 24 hours. I have recently discovered that now the animals are left alone for many hours in the night and this is not only unacceptable but dangerous. A few years ago, Paradise Pet Hospital caught on fire during the night due to electrical problems and every animal boarding at the hospital died. It is not safe at all to leave animals locked in their rooms unattended during the night. The staff at America Dog Hotel still claim that there is someone there overnight, but a slip up from their receptionist revealed the truth and I have confirmed this to be correct and will never again bring my dogs there. While I'm sure they do some good, my personal experience there was terrible. We found a stray dog along a busy road and after posting ads for her on Craigslist and Facebook, we finally found the owner. They had no interest in having the dog returned so we set out on a mission to re-home her. Since we didn't want to take her to the shelter, we decided to contact the Hotel for Dogs and Cats. Keep in mind, my mother has adopted animals from here in the past and we have donated goods and food to them as well. I called and left messages on three separate occasions and not once did they return my call. Finally, my wife got through to them and the lady she spoke with was extremely rude. She essentially told us that they didn't want the dog because they were afraid the original owner would try to claim her. As a rescue operation, they should know the law which states that after five days, dogs are considered abandoned property and therefore, able to be kept or re-homed. Regardless, we even offered to not only donate $100 to the operation but also to cover the cost of her vet checkup including heart worm and anything else she potentially needed. Again, after giving us the runaround and again failing to return a fourth call, my wife asked them what exactly they suggest we do with the dog. Their advice? Take her to the Escambia County Animal Shelter... where she would be euthanized. Are you kidding me? A so-called rescue group that prides itself on being a no-kill safe haven is recommending that I take a dog to the shelter? Yup. Long story short, I'm not leaving this review based on the fact that they couldn't or wouldn't take the dog. Had they simply said they had no room, I would have moved on and tried elsewhere. No problem. But between the blatant lack of courtesy of returning calls, the rude demeanor of the individual, their lack of knowledge of laws pertaining to their specific business, and the suggestion of essentially killing the dog, I have no choice but to leave a rating that appropriately reflects my personal experience with this entity. read more

I also used a groupon - $29 for 2 nights, and paid the regular rate for a small dog, $45 for the last night we boarded our little Marie Antoinette...as far as our experience went, everything was as promised, the owner Joyce was warm and friendly, and she took the time to ask for our feeding patterns and snack decisions from the options I brought for my dog - when I returned to pick her up, her snacks had been eaten and her food, as well. Additionally, my dog enjoyed playing in the separated play areas - more so for the socializing than the toy offerings - but that is just my girl :) One day we stopped by out 'of the blue' for a visit and gave Marie a walk - Joyce warned us it might confuse Marie, making her think she was going home, but she did okay and we had a nice visit and took her back by dinner and bedtime - so, we got to kiss her goodnight...There was no problem with a drop in and I noticed that every dog's area was clean. When we picked up our dog to go home, I told Joyce, "Thanks so much for taking such good care of my baby girl!" and hugged her - and she warmly hugged me back. I found the service to be everything I hoped for, the owner to be kind and friendly, would go back when in Las Vegas, and would refer people to this business. read more

4/18/10. My dog has been a customer of this place for 2 yrs, was never sick and loved it. When new owners, John & Joyce Siebert, took over last summer, things changed badly. I was a good customer & my dog went 3 days/wk. From Dec 2009 - April 2010 my dog has been sick 4 times. I have vet records to prove that he got Papillomatosis, Giardia, & Kennel Cough, all communicable diseases. My dog does not go to dog parks & he is not in contact w/ any other dogs EVER except at daycare. After the 4th time he got sick-- throwing up & diarrhea all night-- 2 days after being at daycare I decided it was time to pull him out. Each time my dog was sick & had to stay home, when I took him back she never once asked how he was doing. These vet visits have cost a lot of money. Joyce said she would refund my boarding package & when I went to p/u my check it was gone. She had "changed her mind" & didn't even have the decency to call me & blew me off for 2 days; she has gone back on her word & now will not give me the refund. I have asked for the doc that I signed that says I don't get a refund & we'll see if I get it. I had 5 daycare days left that I bought b/4 they owned it & she refused to refund those b/c I didn't buy them from her. They have fired the good employees & it's a revolving door of different people. The owners CLEARLY don't like or care about dogs. I dropped my dog off 1 day & while watching him he peed on the playpark floor. I asked the guy up front to have s/1 clean it up & he said they will in a minute. I was there 5 more minutes & they still hadn't cleaned up the pee, tho I mentioned it 2 more times. I can't verify it but I've heard that others' dogs have gotten sick, I've also heard that dogs vomit & have diarrhea up there & the 'ees are not allowed to tell their parents. They built out a new wing & it doesn't seem to be temp controlled; my dog was in it 1 evening when I picked him up & it was freezing. I also did not see sprinklers in there. The comment posted about the hurt dog is true & they do NOT play w/ the dogs b/c they don't even have enough 'ees to do that. They are running what used to be a wonderful place into the ground.
