Our first visit to this office. Great customer service from the front desk to being greeted once we arrived. Dr Shiva has a calming and great interaction with our daughter. The overall office cleanliness was very clean. Would prefer the children's toy area to have more attention especially when we are to bring our toddler who puts everything in his mouth. Dr. Shiva is absolutely incredible and so so gentle with my kiddos. Especially my super sensitive 9 year old who is absolutely terrified of the dentist. The care and patience both her and the amazing staff have is so over the top that I feel so fortunate to have found them. My daughter has had too many cavities to count (unfortunate genes and bad flossing habits), but we always leave in good spirits and with overflowing goodie bags. From the Receptionist to the Assistants to the Dentist and Orthodontists across the hallway, everyone is very nice, friendly and very professional. They all work together in perfect harmony. They demonstrated a true sense of being a team. I was very stressed and anxious before bringing my daughter here, she has a complex dental situation and after multiple consultations with different dentists and orthodontists I couldn't get any concrete plan for her care. I spent hours on Yelp searching for the right pediatric dentistry and so glad I found this office. Not only I was listened to but I felt understood and respected. The Dentist and the Orthodontist both worked together and gave me what I've been searching for, A PLAN, to care and resolve my daughter's dental issues. Dr Lily and her team are amazing. We have been coming here since our first dentist wanted to take my son to the OR and put him under general anesthesia to pull a broken tooth out after a bad trip and fall. Too aggressive for me. Dr Lily did it with laughing gas and some numbing. He didn't even cry! Her staff is wonderful and we plan on being patients for a long time. She also understands that red heads need more anesthetic! I was so anxious to take my toddler in his terrible twos to the dentist for the first time. I was afraid he would even bite Dr. Shiva's arm off. When I mentioned that to her she laughed and reassured me not to worry. Of course when we walked in to the office my son hesitated to come in but once he saw the warm and fun environment he ran in. Dr. Shiva came up to him and gave him a hug and high five and really engaged him. When she saw he did not want to come in further she told us not to worry or push him and came in the play area herself. It was so sweet to see how patient she and her staff are with children. I was losing patience and told the hygienist Stephanie I can hold his mouth open for her and she told me they don't push children like that and wait for them to be ready. Before I knew it he was opening his mouth and allowing them to examine and clean his teeth. I was shocked and impressed. Dr. Shiva is very knowledgeable and made us have such an amazing experience. Autism Spectrum Disorder. Yes, I know that is a strange way to start a review but, I honestly don't think this amazing office needs another 'review' because of their outstanding peer referrals and word of mouth reputation. I wanted to address Dr. Lily Ghafouri and her gift for working with all children. I have a 3 1/2 year old son who has Autism. Because of his sensory processing disorders it is IMPOSSIBLE to put a toothbrush in his mouth. Of course this is a huge source of concern for me... If I can't brush his teeth, he has to have cavities! How are we ever going to go to the dentist?? Dr. Lily has such a calming and serene way. My son who is very sensitive to the nervous or negative energy of others... Is completely calm around her. This is a great help getting him into the office. I have brought him in while napping so she could check to see if there was decay. He didn't even flinch. Outstanding!! He has been there twice now and under the care of Dr. Lily, her amazing staff and Dr. Naftalin ( anaesthesiologist ) he has had the least possible discomfort for X-rays, cleaning, sealant, 8 cavities and a very nasty root canal. My poor child... Seeing him relieved of pain and smiling again is joyous. If you are the parent of a child with special needs... Dr. Lily H. Ghafouri is THE dentist. I have to warm everybody about a very dangerous children's dentist. The Dr. Lily and Dr. Smith's Children's Dental office at 9201 Sunset Blvd in Beverly Hills. The office manager Cindy is a belligerent, angry woman who screams (scaring the children) and rudely hangs up on people when speaking on the telephone. I have personal knowledge she hung up on one mother 3 times, rather than explaining a situation to this woman in a patient and professional manner. They also do not follow up on insurance, then billing the patients for the full amount a year later when the insurance time limit is over. I have two children and always try to book their appointments together, this is always a problem and their staff always seems annoyed and bothered when having to do a little extra work. I am a resident in Beverly Hills and am amazed at the poor client services, and rude staff. No child should have to listen to the angry rantings of an unprofessional office manager especially when a child's nerves are already on end being in a dentist's office.
