Came here for the first time and it was great. The process of sorting and weighing was super quick! I'd do it again.

This place is terrible! Tons of homeless and sketchy characters lurking around the area using drugs in plain sight. The ground is all dirty and sticky. The guys operating this recycle shack are extremely rude. The one guy who took our recycling and weighed it was on the phone the entire time on a personal call. He was not paying attention to anything going on and then he started grabbing another customer's recycling and adding it to my order. We (the other customer and I) had to tell him about the mix up and he seemed irritated, yet it was his mistake. He just handed over some cash. No receipt, no documentation at all of what was turned in. Who knows if the amount of cash was correct. Meanwhile another guy working here was walking back and forth through the entire area moving bags of bottles and cans around while smoking a cigarette! Absolutely gross. read more

They give you cash for your recycling at this facility. It can be crowded at times, but the lines move very quickly. UNFORTUNATELY you don't get the same amount of money back, compared to the amount you are originally forced to pay in the grocery store. read more

This was a second option to my usual recycle place, express recycling down the street. I came and it was very dirty here, recycling juices all on the sticky floor, trash everywhere, then I feel like the guy shorted my return. Whole transaction was off, and the guy didn't say much the whole time just handed some cash over and that's it, be sure to verify the scale weight. read more

BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES! There's a sign that says "NO SMOKING" on the building and yet there was the man with the ponytail who works there lighting a cigarette!!! He's done this twice from what I've witnessed when I go...I have very sensitive lungs and it's a nightmare standing in line trying to hold my breath as much as I could, never coming here again....the pricing is horrible by the way read more

Sticky floors and they cheat you out of your money! I took a similar load here and got $7, went down the street to express recycling and got back $20. It's much cleaner and nicer over there, and just 3 more minutes down. read more

This place is an eye sore, dirty and brings in transients from Lakewood, Long Beach and Bellflower. Why would you put this type of business so close to homes? Transients come here and then nap, hang out and loiter just behind it... mere feet away from homes! I'm surprised more people don't push to have it moved to a more commercial area. read more

I have been visiting this place over years and satisfied with services they provide. It is always fast and easy to drop items.

Took 8 large bags of Costco water bottles and a large bag of crushed cans. And got just under $50. Wasn't sure what to expect; I haven't taken Recycling in for years. I thought it would be more but others say that's pretty good. read more

This place is fast and usually rounds up, they take caps of bottles which not all places do. They also take wine bottles ! Highly recommend .. I drive form signal hill to recycle anything to help save our planet! read more

I only come here to do my recycling, the location is in a safe zone in Lakewood. Very convenient hours and times. The Employee that's always there is always kind, patient & helpful. They don't make you remove the tops like other places do. It's fast and very reliable and convenient. read more

I wanted to leave a review for Sunset Recycling. I have been going to this location for over a year and a half. There has been a change in it since the new gentleman , Edilcer, has taken over the morning times I go there. It is so clean and organized, always bins available to sort your recycling. There is hardly ever a line because he moves so efficiently, and gets all the people out of there in a timely manner. I love the fact that everything moves along so smoothly. I have been to other places, and there's always a long, long line and never available bins. This place is absolutely awesome!! He always has bins available and I haven't stood in line for over three months. As we move into the hot summer days, this is a good reflection of this place, caring about the comfort of people using their service. They definitely deserve "5" stars‼ read more

It's a convenient location and easy weigh-in for CRV redemption. The baskets are smaller and more manageable... no squirrelly wheels! I still took the caps off everything. I always go on yelp and read reviews, but never reviewed anything myself. That is now ending as I can't even emphasize how amazing the service here is. I always recycle with my dad and even he says the guy that runs the place is extraordinary. We go every 1-2 months and every single time I witness this man working his a** off! If I could leave zero stars, I would. This used to be run by a company that's no longer in business, and if this one location is any indication of how the new company runs things, they won't be in business very long. Arrived here at 12:50 pm today. Location closed, 2 other people waiting to recycle already here when I got here. We all assumed (yes, I know what happens when you assume) that the employee was at lunch and would return soon. The female employee rolls up at 1:11, in her car, to let us know that she has to take her 30 minute break and go to the bank and will open up when she gets back. I ask her where she's been for almost 30 minutes, she claims that A. She went to the bathroom, and B. She's only been gone since 1:02. Or 12:58. Story is BS, because she's in the same parking lot as a grocery store with a bathroom, and she's been gone at least 21 minutes. (When I arrived, I took a minute to set the clock in my car because we had just changed the battery so I know EXACTLY what time I got there). Who needs to drive to a bathroom when you're next to a grocery store? She couldn't say how long she'd be gone either. I looked up the address of other centers for one of the people also waiting and he & I went to Bellflower Recycling, and the other person went to the competitor behind Ross at South st. I will never come back. Tried to call corporate # and voice mail was full. read more
