You'll find them under a canopy by their launch area. The staff were friendly, and we were able to get same day rentals. We came on a Saturday morning around 10:30am, and it was a breeze. I do appreciate that they care about your safety. I originally wanted to try SUP, but the team recommended kayaking since the winds were really strong for first time SUP. Prices here were pretty good. We did a 1-hr rental each. There are bathrooms right in front of the rental area, and they have storage bags for you to store clothes, keys, etc. Kayaks were good quality, and life jackets felt secure.

Steve is inquisitive and he really assesses your needs. And (as I said) he talks, so be prepared for a detailed (and enjoyable) conversation about your needs and wants. Steve seems well connected in the surf community and is a great resource. In addition to covering every detail of my purchase, he gave me info on best beaches for SUP surfing as well as contact information for an instructor who sounds amazing. Against, Steve's recommendations of 1. Practicing in a calm area (like a harbor) and 2. Getting lessons, I've been doing this on my own. This board is not as stable as your typical SUP surf board, so took some time to train my balance muscles and learn this board. But after a couple of sessions, I got it down and with that was able to finally paddle over the breaks and make progression towards catching waves. I don't recommend for the average person take this path. I had a surf lesson about 10 years ago and come from kitesurfing. Definitely get lessons if you've never done anything like this. Been out early am every weekend I can, finally catching some of my first waves and sometimes playing kook of the day (and not cashing anything) on a board I LOVE! I would definitely buy another board from Steve just given his passion and commitment to deliver excellence to his customers. His passion is infectious. The kayak and paddleboard rentals are affordable, and signing the waiver online beforehand makes check-in quick and easy. The water route is beautiful and scenic. Just be mindful of the shallow grassy areas, as my paddleboard fin got stuck a couple of times. I'd also recommend bringing hand sanitizer or tissues, since the bathrooms were occasionally out of soap or toilet paper. If you can, use the restroom inside the Aquatic Center building instead. Overall, it's a fun, scenic spot that's open year-round, and I'd definitely recommend it!

We saw many happy folks paddling in their water craft though, and large groups who, I'm assuming, went out on tours. We saw plenty of teams coming and going who keep their equipment there. Their restrooms are located on the side of the building and are open to the public. The reason we came to NAC is that they offer a perfect launch spot for paddle sports. This area of Newport Back Bay is very calm and leads into the estuary. It's a beautiful place to paddle, with abundant bird life and waterfowl, as well as "flying" fish, and no doubt an abundance of marine life below the surface. Besides being a launch point, many families with young children also appreciate the calm water here. The area between beach and boundary can be swum in and is quite shallow. As a side note, once out on the water beyond this boundary, one cannot swim or exit their paddle craft. There is a parking lot for NAC but there's also a large dirt lot for visitors, for the amazing price of $0! Great access, beautiful wetlands, calm waters...this is a perfect place for all types of paddlers, nature enthusiasts, and families looking for a quieter alternative to the beach.

Missed my flight, got five hours of sleep, and drove the kids to Newport for their horseback ride. I was a little nervous reading a review where an adult was led on his ride, however, this was not my experience. We had two adults and two small children in our party. One of my children was led by the pony for half the ride and then all of us were able to ride at our own pace with the most beautiful view of the water and beachside. Stacy was great with my kids and the horses. I was never worried about safety and the ride was calming. I felt centered for the first time in weeks after the ride. It was beautiful. She spent a lot of time with us. I am grateful for a wonderful 3rd birthday, thank you! We were just a little cramped in the beginning with another birthday party there. My children learned to paint hooves though, and that was an excellent activity to space out the two separate parties.

They have a wide array of saddles (western and English) for little kids along with horses who are well trained with little kids. Clyde and Sonny are amazing horses and Ace is a wonderful Pony for first time riders. Love the 30 min loop around Back Bay!
