I found here on yelp and I am very glad I did. I changed my cat's vet because previously vet has moved to other place. At my previous vet, I had to wait at least 30 minutes even with the appointment and had to wait again for vet when in the room for another 20 minutes. Here, I never had a wait time. Staff are so nice and Dr. An is very kind, always taking good care of my cat. The rooms are very clean because they clean the room every time furry patient leaves. Reasonable price and they never force or make me feel obligated. I've been to a vet where they force me and make it sound like I am a bad mom for not "buying" what they put on the receipt. read more

I am late to the party but wanted to add my review of Sunset Veterinary Center which I took our dog Toby to a couple of months ago. First of all I used to take him to another local vet near me since we first brought home our "pound puppy" and was never unhappy with them, although I thought they were really expensive compared with other vets. I read about this place through the Diamond Bar Buzz and- after 10+ years- made the switch here! Dr An is amazing at calming Toby and very thorough at giving me his diagnosis and treatment plan. I can tell that he and his staff REALLY love animals. Prices are fair and since Toby will need a bladder surgery I appreciate Dr An's approach at making this work for my budget. Went recently for my kitty, we are new in the area so had to try a new vet and super glad we found here!! Super convenient and close location and the care from the nurses and doctors were amazing! He is also certified in Fear Free handling techniques that make visits to the vet less stressful for both cats and dogs. I took my alpha cat Yanni, who has a history of trauma, to see Dr An and I was very impressed. My cat gets very stressed if he is scruffed. Dr. An has been our vet for almost 9 years and based on the reviews, we are not the only ones who followed him to his new clinic! Dr. An takes the time to have a thorough conversation about your pet's care and has excellent clinical skills. I have always appreciated the kindness to his approach and the way he clearly loves caring for animals. I first came to Dr. An with a senior cat with diabetes and he helped us manage her care, which required insulin injections and regular check-ups. At the end of her life, she was diagnosed with bone cancer and I will never forget Dr. An's compassionate approach in helping her stay pain free to the end. I now have a cat who has issues with chronic regurgitation and Dr. An has been great with answering questions, suggesting behavioral changes, and follow up diagnostics. When our lovely dog, Lucky, first showed signs of illness (bloody nose), Dr. An referred us to a specialist because he suspected that my dog might have a tumor in her nose. We hoped it was a minor ailment, but the specialist later diagnosed it as cancer. Despite the sadness that accompanied us for the next four months, we were able to spend happy moments together. If we hadn't met Dr. An, it gives me chills to think about how we would have left my dog's pain unattended, not even knowing where it hurt. When our dog crossed the rainbow bridge, everyone from Sunset Vet was extremely kind and comforting, providing warmth. Tears welled up as we read the handwritten messages from Sunset Vet team members on the card when we received our dog's ashes. Thanks to the heartfelt comfort from Dr. An and all the staff members from Sunset Vet, we were able to send off our dog peacefully. read more

Best veterinary clinic I've experienced. The staff was super friendly and made my baby feel welcomed even though she's normally scared of going the doctor's. We went in for an examination for assumptions of possible breast cancer and left with a relieved feeling that my baby is healthy. I have been debating on posting this review for a while but today was the last straw with this alleged Doctor. I had previously taken my pup to this doctor because of its stellar reviews. Almost a year in I started noticing discrepancies with some of the diagnosis for my pup. When I would ask staff questions or even the doctor regarding treatment or follow up questions they would freeze and not know what to say. At first I took it as they are still new and perhaps they are a little nervous and want confirmation on their response. However when it started occurring every time I would have an appointment and asked my questions I started questioning if they knew what they were doing and if perhaps I should look for a new doctor. Not to mention that they would give me this ridiculous treatment plan and include services that I had thought of doing in the future and notified me that it was important that I did them now. They really wouldn't take into consideration my concerns and why I brought my dog to his specific appointment. Rather than sell me a collar or some spray that would help my dog's nerves how about you help me understand why my dog would continue to get ear infections. Thank god I did and I am now getting my pup the adequate and appropriate treatment as well as food for him. I am reassured that my dog's new vet and vet technicians have the knowledge and training to leave my dogs well being in their hands. Now, there was an incident that took place with this Sunset Veterinary Center. I won't get into the details but it left a negative impression and made me realize that they treat people of color differently. What I will say is that if you aren't dressed to the nines or if you are a hard working individual that does not have a white collar job but rather do construction or gardening these people will look at you differently and make you feel insecure. That is exactly how the two ladies in the front made my father feel. Those ladies need to do better and respect everyone. Not once did my father give them an attitude and said something inappropriate. He just asked where I was because he need my car keys. This is 2024 and people as well as business like this need to be called out. I did bring up my concerns to Dr. A but I'll be completely honest, I felt that he didn't really care and was just talking and making excuses to save his place of business. If you really felt embarrassed or sorry or as you stated "didn't tolerate this behavior" you and those ladies should have properly apologized to my father. Not me. It has now been two going on three months that we have not had contact with this veterinary and tell me why they call me reminding me of an appointment for my dog? I specifically stated that I would NOT be returning after the events that transpired. I left them a voicemail and Dr. An returned my call stating that my "grandmother" had made an appointment and that it was a miscommunication and that I should have a better day. First of all, both of my grandmothers passed away when I was 5 years old so there is not way my "grandmother" would make an appointment. Since this place doesn't not take the hint maybe this review will make them understand that I want nothing to do with this veterinary and I do not want to be contacted by them. I am happy with my dogs new doctor and have no plans of ever coming back here. Dr. An I continue to have "better" days especially more so since I am now taking my dog with adequate and respectful veterinarians. I do not like being harassed by you and you need to realize how you speak is out of line. DO BETTER. Take a hint of this review to leave us alone and do better with how you communicate with pet parents. Take this as a life lesson and work on have proper respect for pet parents before you start losing more clients. I hope you actually keep your word and tell your staff to NOT contact me. I was debating on taking my Rottweiler Joy to a local vet because we have a mobile vet , who we adore , Joy is our families 5th Rott , the vets in the area diamond bar and chino hills always want enormous fee's (the reason for my mobile vet) . Joy is about 8 years old and is showing signs of old age (too soon) She needed to see a Vet right away . My vet was not available until the weekend and it was only Monday , we came to Sunset Vet because of the Yelp reviews , we love this place , Dr/Staff had patience with both joy & I because we were both nervous, he examined Joy and gently recommended we give her a few meds for 7 days without having to do x-rays and blood work (near future) Joy got better . We have followed Dr. An from when he was West Main Animal Hospital to VCA and now to Sunset Veterinary Center. We are so happy he decided to open up his own private practice and even though the drive is 1 hour for us, it is completely worth it. Our dog loves Dr. An and every treatment plan he has given us has worked. We have a French Bulldog that it a little more high maintenance and Dr. An really knows how to work with this breed. The office is very clean and all the staff members are very professional and friendly! Everything is state of the art but there's also a personal touch. Not sure what to think... I read glowing reviews on FB, so tried here when looking for a new vet. First visit was to euthanize my suffering cat who I'd been trying to save for months with a previous vet and a specialist, and spent thousands of dollars. We wanted to be with her to comfort her. First shock was the price of nearly $700. After I complained some things were taken off, including the doctor's exam fee (thanks), to make it just over $400. Besides that, it took 1 1/2 hours! They took my cat into the back for a long time when we wanted to be with her to comfort her. I still don't understand why the whole thing took so long, and why my cat was not with us. Seems like a nice enough doctor and staff, but I'm not sure this is the place for me and my 5 other cats. read more
