I couldn't resist a first for a cemetary!…read more It is beautifully situated on a hill in Front Royal, which was established in the late 1700's...you can tell that it has expanded over the years and many of the oldest headstones are in disrepair. It has lots of history and character...definitely not your tpical modern organized and manicured resting place! Let's film a horror movie here!

The staff here - primarily comprised of Joe - couldn't be better. Last summer, I found myself in need, for the first time, of making arrangements for a funeral & burial. Joe was just wonderful - walked me though all my questions regarding purchasing a plot, what kind of plot I wanted/needed, drove me around the cemetery grounds showing me which plots where available - in short, I liked Prospect Hill so much (both the location and the service here), that I've since purchased several more plots here - establishing a kind of a family plot to be near my deceased grandmother in this beautiful cemetery. And speaking to that point, they have a nice system where you can 'reserve' one or more plots you wish to purchase - you pay a small part of the price upfront, and then have a longer period of time to pay the remainder of the plot's price. If you change your mind and don't pay it, the only 'penalty' is you'll lose your down payment - but that's really just a reimbursement to Prospect Hill for taking your plot off the market while you're deciding. All in all, I really recommend Prospect Hill Cemetery - the location is beautiful, and the staff is respectful, kind, and great to work with. May God bless them for the wonderful service they provide to people during an especially trying time.

The accident occured nearby in WV while the deceased and his family reside in Northern VA. A tragic situation made worse by distance. Mr. Basagic was awesome. He worked under a time pressure to prepare the the body for viewing -- even purchasing new clothing -- so that we could say our good byes when we arrived from noVA. I've been to a lot of funerals and thought Mr. Basagic's work was very good and natural looking. Since our return to NoVA, Mr. Basagic's "can-do" attitude had made the long distance arrangements so much easier. Additionally, he has a very compassionate manner with those in mourning.
