Monica was awesome! She was pleasant and very patient with helping us. They delivered what we ordered all the way to Stafford Memorial.

We worked with Lori arranging everything and Ernie on the day of the wake and funeral. They helped make this whole process so much easier for us and gave my mother a lovely send off. A few key notes: 1. My mother had ALS and had fallen causing massive a brain hemorrhage, so her head had been shaved for surgery, and she had swelled up in the days after. We brought them a wig and gave them a few pictures, and they worked wonders bringing my mom back to looking like herself. This really makes a huge difference helping her friends and family (and especially her grandchildren who were too young to see her in the hospital) say goodbye. 2. We really had no idea about how many people may show up to her wake and funeral, and they were so accommodating, assuring us they would handle it if more than expected showed up (which is exactly what happened). 3. They were so caring and kind, helping us through every decision. I never realized how much work this all could be. They took us through step by step and alleviated so much stress. Lori was on top of every detail, gave me a checklist, and would email with updates. She also was very cognizant of costs and would remind us of costs as we were making decisions. 4. Since my mother passed over the holidays, we were met with additional obstacles as some businesses were closed. Lori helped us navigate these additional obstacles to make sure we were able to get everything we needed on time. 5. The day of the wake and funeral, I felt at ease to just grieve and not have to think about anything else. Ernie was wonderful, as were all the others who helped on those two days. I am so grateful. Of course, I hope not to have to use Pierce Funeral Home anytime soon because that would mean we've suffered another loss, but I highly recommend them to anyone who has lost a loved one. You and your loved ones will be cared for well.

The minute we walked inside this well kept and tastefully decorated place, we felt a sense of peace and home. We need to give a special shout out to Mike who handled every detail with warmth, understanding, compassion, and unending patience. From that first meeting to the final one we were treated as family, not as clients. We were actually on the way to several different funeral homes when our GPS guided us here by mistake. We believe God and the spirit of our beautiful child must have led us here. Peace and Blessings to Baker-Post for helping us navigate through one of the most heart-wrenching and difficult times any parent could ever imagine.

Ames Funeral Home is a family owned business and you are treated as family when you walk through the door. Ames Funeral Home is a "One Stop Funeral Home" where Mr. Ames & his family calmly, gently, & patiently guide you through the entire funeral process, intrinsically comfort you, & truly share in your sorrow & grief. They speak with you in laymen's terms and they gently guide you through their decades of wisdom, experience that is woven into their souls. The beautiful way they handled providing the necessary instructions & actions to us that we needed to take was beyond anything I had ever encountered in my entire life. Our dad lived a lifetime of service (attending church and helping everyone). When we attended the 1st viewing, we were all astonished! He actually looked his very best & his happiest - dressed as an usher in his church with white gloves, holding his Bible! It was as if the Ames Family personally knew him very well! Our father was also a veteran and Ames Funeral Home was able to quickly arrange an absolutely impeccable military funeral at Quantico National Cemetery. They have handled every aspect of all types of funeral services for several decades. Therefore, all processes are streamlined, which makes you & your family feel supported throughout, without adding additional distress to you when you are grieving. In all honesty, in your darkest journey from the beginning to end, you really feel that they treat you as they would want to be treated in the same situation. Even their website offers comfort & acknowledgement - that they really "see you" in your grief and pain. I have attended several funerals in the past, that were good, but Mr. Ames and his family are light years above the rest. If there comes a time in your life where you need funeral services for a loved one, please don't hesitate to call Ames Funeral Home. It will be one of the very best decisions you or your loved ones will ever make in life. As for me & my family, choosing Ames Funeral Home made all of the difference in the world. They are "Top Notched"'and always go above and beyond the rest.

We met with Susan later that same morning to discuss the details and she was very respectful, accommodating, and professional throughout. Our brother, who was out-of-state but dialed in by phone, was included by Susan in every aspect of the discussion. Our Dad was a USMC Veteran and was to be buried at the Memorial National Cemetary at Quantico with Military Honors. The date of this honor was scheduled after meeting with Susan, so we called Miller's to see if everything would be ready by this date. We spoke to Cathy who did what was needed to ensure that everything would go as planned, which it did. Additionally, as his family, we were supposed to bring the burial flag, but we were having trouble getting one. When this was expressed to Miller's, they provided one. And when Dad was ready, family that Susan had not previously met went to pick him up, but before releasing him, she called me to confirm that they were family and that it was ok to release him. From the very start to the conclusion, Miller Funeral Home and Crematory was absolutely the best in absolutely the worst circumstance. Sadly, our family has had experience with other local funeral homes and there is just no comparison.
