My check-in instructions initially didn't go through to my phone because I was using a VoIP (Google Voice) number, but I was able to get that sorted out using my other phone number. Some key points that were valuable to me: My room (king bed) "Mojito room" includes: -mini fridge, some complimentary snacks and beverages -free and fast Wi-Fi -alarm clock doubles as wireless charging dock -multiple large windows bringing in plenty of natural lighting -strong air conditioning -quick and hot bath water under adequate pressure -overall clean, no bugs, no major stains/leftover hairs, etc -beach bag with 2 beach towels -overall responsive staff via text and phone call Areas for improvement: -no working elevator which might be a concern for some -bathroom sink had super slow drainage -toilet paper dispenser installed in a suboptimal location on the wall -would be nice to have a shared microwave Considering location, price, amenities, and overall experience, Peninsula Bed and Cocktail provides great value and I would recommend this place to others.

Our Usual place is closed due to the storm damage, so we booked here as they are one of the only places open with full Kitchenettes. Most of the Restaurants are still closed, Publix is open. CVS is open, Walgreens is open. Enough places to get essentials. Sir Hubbers & I drove around the whole hotel, the side streets surrounding this hotel are apocalyptic. I have never seen anything like it. Everyone has been flooded. All the gorgeous St Pete beach homes have been gutted & the entire contents of everyone's homes are on the street. It looks like a war zone. However, when you come into this property it looks immaculate. This place was somehow untouched. The two pools are gorgeous, the rooms spotless & our King Suite was super comfortable. Perfect in every way. Our King Suite has a full kitchen with a full size stove, full size refrigerator & a full size pull out couch with separate AC & fan. The separate King Bedroom & bath were divided by a sliding barn door with its on walk in closet, walk in Marble tiled Shower, it's own AC & fan! Our King bed & bath were super comfy & gorgeous in every way. We even had all brand new towels. Honestly, we can't find one thing to criticize about this place. They even have a wall of "Beach stuff" to use to take to the beach. WOW. This place is just perfect for us. Covered all our needs. We also met the lovely Amanda, she is super friendly, service was excellent. We LOVED our stay at "St Pete Beach suites" & can't wait to return. We have finally found our home away from home OuiOui. This would have been a five star review if it weren't for the hidden charges. Hotel.com and…read morebookings.com both had the price at $143 per night. All taxes and fees included. Crystal Bay's website sent me to their booking "partner" that added $101 in fees and taxes. If you stay here, book your room anywhere EXCEPT their website and save money. Built in 1915. Fully renovated 100 years later in 2015. Crystal Bay Hotel is a class act. Booked online for Friday & Saturday because my condo's mold remediation forced me to vacate. Check in is at 4:00pm. But I arrived early at 1:00pm and was not only cheerfully checked in by Cassandra, she upgraded my room and gave me a spot near the entrance on the first floor, just down the hall from the outdoor pool. My immaculately clean room is approximately 18 X 18, and all the furniture is classy cherrywood (Or a good imitation). Large enough for a wall mounted fairly large screen TV, King size bed, 2 nightstands, dresser, table, 2 chairs, full bath, and kitchenette (Microwave, sink, and fridge). Free WIFI plus The all-in-one wall unit cranks A/C! There is also a hair blow drier and tiny ironing board with iron. The room literature tells the story of the hotel over its 100 plus years in service, and has a news sheet talking up the celebrities that stayed here back when Crystal Bay Hotel was new, including Babe Ruth. The free all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is fantastic! 100% juices, coffees, teas, and almond milk plus other healthy favorites. Scrambled eggs, cheese omelettes, sausage, bacon, hash brown patties, fresh fruit, cereal, dried fruit, waffles, toast, etc. the dining room is decorated with nostalgic memorabilia from various dates in the last 100 years.

The views are beautiful, and the location is right on the beach. There are plenty of spaces in the lobby for working, plenty of meeting rooms (or ball rooms if you're there for a formal event), and areas to just relax or work. The resort provides live music various days of the week as well. I will say that I was surprised about the lack of dining options. There is a lobby bar (which doesn't open until 3pm), and just two restaurant options. Maritana is only open a few days a week and not open until 5:30pm, although the lobby bar does serve a few small plates. The Society Table has a bar within their restaurant (Rowe Bar I believe), and I experienced both as they both have different menus. The lobby bar menu is small but great; the Wagyu Sliders and charcuterie board were both delicious. The wine list is fairly extensive as well. I dined at the society table for lunch on the day that I left and I got the Gumbo with jalapeño cornbread. This was very delicious; I do feel there should've been more than a few pieces of chopped up shrimp. My waitress was wonderful though and very kind as well as the hostess. For the days we were provided food by the resort for the work conference, I was very impressed! All of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options were incredibly extensive, fresh, and delicious. The servers were very attentive and helpful. The room service menu although overpriced and included a $5 "delivery charge," is very extensive and tasty. For example, an omelet with toast (small salad included with the omelette), was almost $60 including tip. That being said, it was the best omelette I've ever had. The guest services for room service and the cleaners were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Evan! Do note that this is a cashless resort. There are a few shops on the first floor for souvenirs, basic necessities for traveling, and then an adorable little shop/café with ice cream, coffee, wine, snacks, and drinks. On to the room! I really enjoyed my room. I feel like for one person or even two, it's a pretty spacious room. The bed was very comfortable as well as pillows. They cleaned my room each day, and provided new towels. The bathroom was clean and a decent size for one person. All of the events that the hotel put on for our conference were outstanding. We had a welcome party and a beach party, and I was incredibly impressed. The food was delicious, the staff incredibly attentive and kind, and the music wonderful! The Don CeSar was the perfect place for our conference and I would highly recommend a company conference there. Between the delicious food, impeccable service, beautiful resort, and location right on the beach, I would recommend this spot for an event, quick getaway, or staycation.

The service in this hotel is very good overall. The pools and the beach are superb. We chose this resort as a special anniversary vacation, and this is part of the lower review. We ultimately felt the hotel discount promotion and phone sales was misleading. Ambiguous communication led us to believe we would receive a free night, however we later realized and were told that the discount was already built in to our price, although no sign of discount was found anywhere on our invoice. I'm self employed and I've managed business for 35 years, and I've not seen discounts that don't show on an invoice. Se beware of promotional discount offers as it may not be what you expect, and you'll be left with no way to disprove the phantom discount because it's not on your invoice, apparently is just spoken. Overall service was very good. We had a minor blip in the maritana, which was the wrong dessert brought to us, and presented as "happy anniversary" with a chocolate that said that, but was strangely charged to us. The waitress handled it like a pro. I would advise the chef to either ignore birthdays and anniversaries and that sort of thing, or offer a small free dessert. But definitely don't bring out a "happy anniversary" dessert then charge for it. Also had overcooked hard poached eggs at the society table - no big deal just no runny yolk. If not for the price, who cares? But with such a great menu and fantastic chef, they should get eggs right. No discount offered. But I ate it so... All of our food was great, and really well developed and complete dishes as if it were Michelin rated. Cheers to the chef. Just two very minor fails. Overall it was a nice stay but we won't go back mainly because ultimately they didn't step up over a $600ish discrepancy over a 5 night stay. Look at my reviews. It's very rare I don't write 5 stars. I'm not one of those people that gives a bunch of bad reviews. The highlight of this resort is the beach, the pools, and the menu. Service is good overall. So definitely some good.
