My husband & I worked with Sunshine Flowers for our wedding in July and were very happy with them! We started by reviewing photos on the website based on a coworker's recommendation, and decided to meet with Constance in person. She had even more photos when we met in person and we had plenty of examples to discuss. She taught us a lot about flower types & flower designs. She is definitely passionate about her profession. I found it very helpful to bring in photos of flowers that I liked from Pinterest, The Knot, etc. Between that and her suggestions to provide color swatches and photos of the dresses, I felt pretty confident in her ability to create the right look for our wedding. On the wedding day, I was absolutely amazed by how beautiful my bouquet was! It had succulents and hints of bright orange among the white, just as I wanted. The bridesmaid flowers were a mix of orange and yellow, and matched with the bridesmaid dresses beautifully. They was a little more yellow than I'd prefer, but I guess that's what I get for requesting NO PINK. The boutonnieres were small succulents and looked nice. She even did small hair pieces for me. In general, Constance is talented, and has a great selection of flowers that allowed me to get the flowers that I wanted. It was a bit more expensive than I expected, but she was very flexible and suggested reusing the ceremony flowers for the centerpieces and cocktail hour flowers for dancing in the barn. Since people were only at one of those places at a time, no one would notice that they were being reused. it worked out well! I'd definitely recommend working with Sunshine Flowers. read more

I don't take exception to Conni describing my review as a rant. I think I would say it's a humorous rant, but just rant will suffice. But I do take exception to Conni calling it inaccurate. Every problem I describe in my review is the absolute truth. I'm a librarian. I keep notes. It's in my blood. I can't help it. Plus, I have the pictures that show me without flowers before the wedding. AND I have the paperwork I filled out for her with all the instructions written out (that ultimately weren't followed). Yes, I still have the paperwork (see librarian note above). Multiple copies. Because she kept losing them. For real. * Conni NEVER called to finalize anything with me. I had to call her. * She did lose our paperwork. She did tell me her computer crashed. * She did tell us she would be out of town the week before the date. * She did NOT deliver the flowers to where I was getting ready. * The flowers were NOT the colors I specified. * She did not deliver all the boutonnieres. * She did charge us without sending a final invoice (so, like, I could see if she charged us for the missing boutonnieres, maybe?) * And she did reply to my email with "did you send me an email?" I still have the email. Really. Having said all that, the flowers were lovely. Truly. I think Conni's probably an excellent florist. She even uses a picture from my wedding on her website. She should. It's a good picture. But doing "business" with her was stressful. My words of caution go to the bride who is super particular and wants her vendors to follow her instructions to the letter. That was not MY experience with Sunshine Flowers in 2006. As a little side rant ('cause I'm good at that) I have to say, I'm a little pissed she would even try to respond to this review since I'm pretty sure she doesn't even remember who I am. So how would she know if it was inaccurate or not? But, I'd be more than happy to go over it all in detail if Conni wants to discuss it with me personally (since we never did get a chance to do that at the time due to, let's say, technical difficulties). There were "glitches" on our wedding day and I never let them bother me. We were so happy to be getting married and start our lives together we did not allow mishaps to spoil the day. The one thing that still bothers me, 5.5 years later, were the flowers. I made no less than 4 trips to meet with Constance. From the beginning, I emphasized I wanted hydrangeas. I even made sure they were in season for our date. I am very easy to please. My bouquet was made of orchids! It did not look anything like our discussions! I truly believe she used what she had on hand. I overlooked it then. Even now, when I look at our photos, my bouquet is so wrong. Way too fragile. No presence. Not pretty! Why did we discuss things in such detail if she was going to ignore my hydrangea theme and do what she wanted? Brides be ware! read more

My wedding was this past weekend, I found Constance after searching through so many florist, she was even nice enough to meet me half way to see her work and talk about what I had in mind. My first impression of her was "wow this lady knows what she's doing" and I knew from that day I wanted to have her make my dream into a reality! We were married in Calistoga, CA on May 23rd and since we live in Chicago, we were not able to meet or have any appointments before flying out for the wedding 3 days before. We were so pleased with how helpful Constance made it for us to be long distance and just show up with the assurance that us and our guests would be wowed. And we all were. Next to make-up, flowers were probably the most difficult thing for me to settle on during my wedding planning process. Constance at Sunshine Flowers was listed as one of the preferred vendors for my wedding site, so I met with her with a million questions on hand. Needless to say, she was awesome to work with! The first thing Constance asked me to do was send her a list of images and/or my Pinterest of flowers/color scheme ideas I had in mind. She LOVED what I was sending over and right away we were both on the same page. My mother and I met up with her a couple of times at her studio and she was so warm, open, and friendly. We were able to thoroughly sit and discuss my vision for the wedding, which helped my uncertainties. The three of us were able to draw plans and share ideas - it was such a creative process! We ultimately used these beautiful white box stands she had previously made for another wedding. It was so unique and beautiful - unlike anything we've see before! On the day of the wedding, Constance came to my room and personally delivered all of my bouquets (1 bride and 3 bridesmaids).... every single piece was absolutely GORGEOUS - my bridesmaids and I LOVED them. Even the boutonnieres were so thoughtfully made and fit into the whole vision I had for the wedding. I didn't get to see the set up of the flowers for the ceremony and reception until moments before I walked down the aisle. When I finally did get to see it, it absolutely took my breath away. I loved every single part of the set up and how they were so efficient with their time. Everything looked so clean, romantic, beautiful, and lush (just what I envisioned). The centerpieces for the reception was exceptionally lovely and my guests couldn't wait to take them hope! The tops popped off of the vases quite easily and half of them were claimed by my guests even before the wedding was over! If my husband and I didn't have to go out of the country for our 2 week honeymoon, I would have taken every single piece home. They were just so gorgeous and I can't wait to see how my pictures came out! I highly recommend Constance and her team at Sunshine Flowers for any of your floral needs! Wow! Where can I start? I hadn't even been looking for a florist at the time, but from the moment I saw one of Constance's bouquets at the Brazil Room wedding fair, it was love at first sight! What drew me in the most was a soft, fragrant, and romantic bridal bouquet she had on display, but as one of my bridesmaid's and I flipped through her portfolio, we oohed and aahed over all the different styles from vibrant and exotic, to whimsical, to traditional, to romantic... everything was there! Constance took down my name and information that evening and contacted me shortly thereafter; before I knew it, we were on our way. From the very beginning, I let Constance know that flowers were one of the most important things to me concerning my wedding, but that my husband and I had a limited budget; throughout the process, she was extremely cooperative and reasonable when working with us and even bent over backwards to get us the most for our money and make our dream wedding happen. We exchanged several e-mails and, when the wedding day was approaching, we met in person at her charming home studio. I brought a few photos as examples and explained what I liked; she was attentive the whole time and knew within the first few moments exactly what I liked, even when I couldn't put it into words. Though I am an artist and often a perfectionist (the type who would rather just do something myself to ensure that it's done the way I like it), I left Constance's studio telling her that I trusted in her and taste completely and I am so glad I did! My flowers turned out better than I could have ever imagined! Even my bridesmaids were ecstatic when they saw their bouquets. Most important, my husband loved them too! Constance is an absolute professional, extremely warm and friendly, caring and quite simply, TALENTED!!! In a panic, we contacted Constance when the venue for my son's wedding was suddenly no longer available a couple of months before the date. We now had to turn a cattle ranch - which, no matter what I did still looked and smelled like a cattle ranch -into a wedding venue. Constance was AMAZING! She turned a little deck near the pond into a ceremony site covered in garlands and flowers...she had potted flowers (that the kids can plant in their yard) everywhere, taking the "golden hills of California" (dried grass) and blending them with such an array of blue and yellow flowers that they looked like the background that perfectly enhanced the images for the kids pictures! Then, because we were faced with that unexpected rain forecast, Constance turned the inside of the rented tent into a fantasy wonder-world of color and unexpected beauty!! Her imagination in designing the "over-the-top" flowers that our Bride & Groom wanted was perfection! We have had so many compliments on the flowers I can't possibly describe them here....the comment that has become the thread amongst the neighbors (many of whom have kids of wedding age) is that we have set the bar for ALL future parties and WOW! how high we set it...... They didn't answer their phone, which is okay-it was Mother's Day and they were probably busy. But I gave them an entire day to call me back, and I was very clear about my return phone number, repeating it twice. This order was for a funeral arrangement for a local woman who was very well known in town. Constance recently did the wedding flowers for our daughter's wedding. They were absolutely beautiful!! The grooms parents had wanted to provide the flowers and were very appreciative of the beautiful arrangements that Constance and team provided! Constance met with all parties to get an idea of likes and dislikes -- she also had the bride complete a couple of questionnaires in order to get everything identified. We found Constance accommodating, friendly, and willing to make adjustments even up to a couple of days prior. Her use of color and style makes her arrangements really beautiful!! I can not recommend Constance and Sunshine Flowers highly enough! I interviewed several florists for my wedding and of all of them Constance was able to listen to my thoughts about flowers and figure out what my vision was. I'm not that into flowers and didn't really know what I wanted until Constance created it! Once I saw the flowers they were exactly how I pictured them! Constance was incredibly professional and easy to work with, even helping us in the wedding planning phase by giving tips on things that weren't even related to flowers. I felt completely confident that she would make sure everything looked perfect for the wedding day, and it totally did! About money, Constance was not only clearly the best of all the florists I interviewed, but she was also completely willing to work within our fixed budget. She even recommended less flowers in certain areas so that we could stay within budget--everyone else I interviewed just said, "Well, it will cost you X much" and didn't help figure out to keep the costs down. She really didn't have any thoughts as to the kind of flowers or more details. After meeting with Constance, we came away with many ideas and saw samples of beautiful flowers. We decided to leave the decision on the kind of flowers up to Constance, and she did not disappoint us.She took lace from my wedding dress and wrapped the stems of the flowers in the lace for my daughter flowers. Constance made flowers for the church, and we were able to use them again at the reception which was a great savings. Constance worked with our photographer and made sure the flowers were delivered to the hotel and the church so they were available for pictures. Just looking at Constance's website made us feel sure - she is The One! And, that impression was confirmed when she came to meet us - she just embodies everything that one could imagine as to do with flowers! She is bright, cheerful and carries sunshine in her very self! ( a perfectly named company!) She listened to what my daughter and her fiance envisioned for their wedding - and understood immediately - lending her vast knowledge and experience to make the vision a reality. When the day dawned, she arrived with her assistant, and together they created - I can only describe it as - magic! The bridal bouquet was more beautiful and perfect then we could have ever imagined - and that held true also for the bouquets for the flower girls, mothers, and the boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen. She had beautiful rose petals to scatter on the aisle, and she wove delicate tendrils and flowers over the door, around the Chuppah, little bouquets on the chairs ...everywhere was transformed to an absolute dream of delicate colors and form - more then any of us could have even dreamed of. It is important to say too, that we had a limited budget - and she was completely at ease and happy to work within that budget - and still create a complete wonderment of flowers. Another thing - she was to take some flowers to the restaurant where we were to go after the ceremony. When she arrived - there were no restaurant staff on hand to help her, as had been promised. So she single-handedly arranged all the flowers there as well - so beautifully, that on entering the room, all the guests gasped (yet again!) at the beautiful arrangements - including a huge heart-shaped arrangement of the most beautiful flowers you could imagine. One more thing - the photographer had omitted to take some photos of the bride on her own - so four days later she returned, and had with her a bouquet that Constance had perfectly re-created in every detail - so that the photos were in every way a replica of how they would have been on the day (only better probably, as the bride was more relaxed!) Constance really is an amazing and above all - delightful - person. She was an absolute joy to work with. Every single detail of the flower arrangements was perfect- and perfectly beautiful. I honestly have never seen more beautiful flowers more skillfully, sensitively arranged. I cannot recommend her highly enough. read more

My daughter was married at the Lafayette Park Hotel and we selected Sunshine Flowers after attending a bridal faire there. She is a preferred vendor of the hotel, and it really makes a difference to work with someone who knows the venue and staff. She was there right on time to deliver the bouquets and boutonnieres for photos, and waited until the last minute to set up the flowers in the courtyard so they wouldn't wilt in the sun. We met with Constance about a year before the wedding to discuss all of the details and she provided us with a worksheet that was really helpful. Not being a florist, it was difficult for me to picture how everything would look by just a verbal description, but when I saw everything set up - from the centerpieces on the tables to the flowers in the courtyard - it was beyond what I could ever imagine! Constance provided many extra little touches that really made everything beautiful. Constance and Bruce did our wedding flowers, and they were totally gorgeous, a beautiful and surprisingly complex rendition of our chosen colors.. We spent about 50% more than we expected to, but we got our money's worth. They were entirely gay-friendly, too. As other reviews have noted, Constance helped us plan flowers for our ceremony that could be re-purposed for the reception, which was very helpful. Then on The Big Day Bruce made it all happen subtly and seamlessly, setting up arrangements, trekking them to a new location and setting them up again, then breaking them down as the reception concluded. Bruce was SO on top of the set-up, corsage-pinning, etc. He was busy, cheerful and completely competent throughout. The flowers were so So SO lovely, and did so much to make our wedding an extraordinarily beautiful event. We're glad we chose Sunshine Flowers and are grateful to them for delivering memorable, amazing arrangements. read more
