We told her the vague vision we had and loved the inspiration photos she sent us back. We specified what colors and general feel we wanted ("fall" but without pumpkins or maple leaves) and went back and forth a bit on the ceremony centerpiece, but beyond that we left a lot in her hands. I'm so glad we did because she got to do what she does best, which is create incredible floral art. I think Gina is also a bit magical because she did something pretty special and extraordinary with our flowers... A few weeks before the wedding she texted and asked me what jewelry I was going to wear on the big day. I sent back a picture of the earrings I planned to wear, red coral drops that my now-spouse had gotten me on a special vacation to Italy. He bought them for me in Napoli, a city that is very dear to my heart, and I chose them because they remind me of the "cornicello" a Neapolitan good-luck symbol that looks a bit like a red chili pepper. I didn't tell Gina any of that -- but on our wedding day she had red chili peppers scattered throughout our floral arrangements, including in bouquet. It absolutely blew me away! It felt like I was surrounded by little bursts of good luck everywhere I looked that day, and just meant the world to me. It also struck me as incredibly creative -- I'd never thought about including peppers in floral arrangements, and so many guests asked us about them. Finally, not only is Gina deeply creative but she's also a true professional. We had to move our entire ceremony from a redwood forest to our indoor reception venue on short notice due to rain. Gina pivoted on a dime without complaint, and really busted her butt to bring inside the forest feel we'd spent a year dreaming about. Furthermore, she and her team, with the help of our caterer and coordinator, flipped the ceremony space from an altar, aisle, and chairs, to a sit-down dinner for 140 in about 90 minutes. It took my breath away to see how she transformed the space and to experience how different it felt, and it was not lost on us how incredibly hard she and her team worked on our wedding day. And in one final very thoughtful surprise, she had purchased beautiful wooden cutouts of our and our wedding party's names for our plates at the head table. We had no idea she'd done that and were so touched by the gesture. To top it off, Gina was incredibly easy to work with, start to finish. She was a clear communicator, had easy online booking and payment, and was willing to work with our firm budget. I can also vouch for her special occasion arrangements; I hired her to send a bouquet to a friend for her birthday, and the arrangement was gorgeous. I'll be coming back to her for all my flower needs, whether everyday or special occasion, from here on out, and recommend her to everyone!

Inspirations by Gina insisted that she deliver ANOTHER bouquet to me a month later when I would finally be back home! They truly went above and beyond by offering this, and worked with me to make sure the delivery date and time worked with my schedule. I adore the beautiful arrangement and am so impressed with the level of customer service offered. They also included care instructions with a packet of nutrients to ensure that the bouquet stays looking gorgeous for as long as possible. She had even more photos when we met in person and we had plenty of examples to discuss. She taught us a lot about flower types & flower designs. She is definitely passionate about her profession. I found it very helpful to bring in photos of flowers that I liked from Pinterest, The Knot, etc. Between that and her suggestions to provide color swatches and photos of the dresses, I felt pretty confident in her ability to create the right look for our wedding. On the wedding day, I was absolutely amazed by how beautiful my bouquet was! It had succulents and hints of bright orange among the white, just as I wanted. The bridesmaid flowers were a mix of orange and yellow, and matched with the bridesmaid dresses beautifully. They was a little more yellow than I'd prefer, but I guess that's what I get for requesting NO PINK. The boutonnieres were small succulents and looked nice. She even did small hair pieces for me. In general, Constance is talented, and has a great selection of flowers that allowed me to get the flowers that I wanted. It was a bit more expensive than I expected, but she was very flexible and suggested reusing the ceremony flowers for the centerpieces and cocktail hour flowers for dancing in the barn. Since people were only at one of those places at a time, no one would notice that they were being reused. it worked out well! I'd definitely recommend working with Sunshine Flowers.

I don't take exception to Conni describing my review as a rant. I think I would say it's a humorous…read morerant, but just rant will suffice. But I do take exception to Conni calling it inaccurate. Every problem I describe in my review is the absolute truth. I'm a librarian. I keep notes. It's in my blood. I can't help it. Plus, I have the pictures that show me without flowers before the wedding. AND I have the paperwork I filled out for her with all the instructions written out (that ultimately weren't followed). Yes, I still have the paperwork (see librarian note above). Multiple copies. Because she kept losing them. For real. * Conni NEVER called to finalize anything with me. I had to call her. * She did lose our paperwork. She did tell me her computer crashed. * She did tell us she would be out of town the week before the date. * She did NOT deliver the flowers to where I was getting ready. * The flowers were NOT the colors I specified. * She did not deliver all the boutonnieres. * She did charge us without sending a final invoice (so, like, I could see if she charged us for the missing boutonnieres, maybe?) * And she did reply to my email with "did you send me an email?" I still have the email. Really. Having said all that, the flowers were lovely. Truly. I think Conni's probably an excellent florist. She even uses a picture from my wedding on her website. She should. It's a good picture. But doing "business" with her was stressful. My words of caution go to the bride who is super particular and wants her vendors to follow her instructions to the letter. That was not MY experience with Sunshine Flowers in 2006. As a little side rant ('cause I'm good at that) I have to say, I'm a little pissed she would even try to respond to this review since I'm pretty sure she doesn't even remember who I am. So how would she know if it was inaccurate or not? But, I'd be more than happy to go over it all in detail if Conni wants to discuss it with me personally (since we never did get a chance to do that at the time due to, let's say, technical difficulties). I'm sure she has all my contact information on file, as she remembers so clearly what actually took place. :-)

We wanted big and bold and wow did she deliver!! Everything was absolutely gorgeous. We could not recommend her enough - We have photos displayed in our house and people still compliment how beautiful the flowers are!! Her team was promptly on time and efficient setting everything up, even in the San Francisco wind! She also suggested that the centerpieces for the dinner table be used outside to line the aisle which worked perfectly! The doorway to the venue wasn't quite big enough to bring the arch through but that was no problem for her and her team, it's almost as if it magically appeared inside which I know means her team worked hard and deconstructed and reconstructed the complete arch after the ceremony inside right on time for dinner - amazing professionals!!

It was just the getting to that stage that I found a little unsettling. The first consultations went well and I went over the type of flowers that I was interested in. She made it sound to me that they might be more difficult to get, due to the season, but that there were ways to get them if need be. In the end she couldn't give me the flowers I had really wanted because she didn't deal with international shippers. After finding this out she asked what other flowers I wanted without giving me any reference to other flowers that match the look I wanted. Since I'm not well versed at what flowers are available during that time I found that frustrating. She also didn't make contact with me for over 3 weeks and after numerous emails and phone calls. It was very unnerving because that was 1 month out and I didn't have time to find another florist. BTW, if you're getting married in September don't try to get Peonies or Ranunculus because they aren't available unless shipped in internationally from somewhere. But she made a beautiful bouquet from white garden roses, freesias, chocolate cosmos & lisianthus.
