Long story short, our a/c stopped working in August and we needed help ASAP. Sunshine was able to send someone within three hours of calling. Bob inspected the unit and diagnosed an electrical problem at the fuse box. Sure enough, after turning the breakers off and on, the unit started up right away. I felt sheepish but relieved. It was a short visit and probably wasted his considerable expertise, but I was glad that it was an easily fixable problem. We just had our furnace and air conditioner serviced by Bob and he did a top-notch job. Watching him work and asking him questions and there are always questions from me learning how to maintain my equipment. I had some questions about my hot water tank which was pretty old, and we decided to get a new one. He installed a top-of-the-line commercial hot water tank, and it works great. He is such a great guy and so neat with his work. He noticed we had a gas generator and he told me he went to school for 3 days getting his certificate to service our Generac generator, so we will be using him for that also. Very disappointed. Service tech arrived and after a few minutes turned around and left. We have no heat, a 91 year old man in the House, and are probably in need of a new furnace and air conditioner. I had hired Sunshine to perform a check up and cleaning of our gas powered boiler. Bob from the company showed up on time and did a very nice job of cleaning the heating system, oiling the motors, and ensuring pressure levels were correct. Though he did not perform bleeding of the radiators he did show us how to do this on our own and we were able to handle it ourselves. He also gave us a lot of other good tips and suggestions. Here comes the hot weather and of course I find I have no air conditioning. I've had Sunshine Heating before and was very pleased with the same day service and quick response to my request. My favorite man, Bob, came with his tools and in a matter of an hour, fixed the problem. I live in a condo that has all sorts of rules, but this company is licensed, bonded and insured, so we have no problem. I also feel I can trust that I won't get ripped off with the price or diagnosis of the problem. Bob has worked 13 years for this company and really knows what he's doing. Great service. They know everything about our boiler/radiator system. Had tons of air in the lines and we first called another local company. Their quote was ridiculous and later on found out it would not have solved the problem long term. Unhappy with the knowledge of the other guys I called Sunshine for a second quote. For less money, Sunshine put in a bleeder valve that continuously takes air out--solving the problem in less time and less money. For a separate issue, called on a Sunday for a non-emergency, they were here at 9:30am on Monday morning. Best service company I have come across in Park Ridge. read more

He was on time, efficient, personable and clearly knew what he was doing. The solution was simple, but his service fee was still very reasonable. We're in the middle of the worst heatwave Chicago has seen in years, and we're 2 days out from closing on a new house, and the AC goes out in our apartment. It's 104 out, we're both crazy from going through the mortgage process, and no AC in a second floor apartment would cause havoc. Our landlord sends Sunshine over. They show up and fix the AC same day. My husband is really impressed that they showed so fast at a time when tons of people are probably having AC issues. The following day we close on our house, the day after that (Saturday), it's 100 out and the AC goes out in the new house!! No AC in a house you just signed you life away to get when it's 100 out, and you're there to rip out hideous carpeting would cause havoc. So we called Sunshine, they came out within 2 hours of the call- on a Saturday - fixed our AC within an hour or so, the guy they sent, Bob, was totally nice, and the bill did not make me want to fall over whatsoever. I have been a customer for more than 20 years, and have always found that there prices are reasonable and fair, and the service they render is efficient and timely. Usually I get service the same day, and sometimes in a matter of an hour or two. I needed an exhaust fan connected to an overhead light to be disconnected. Evidently the very old switch had broken and would not shut off. Our system went caput - the heating and AC. The board needed to be replaced as well as the AC coil. Bob came out to take a look and let me know he would not be able to do it for a couple of days. Fine with me - didn't need the AC or the heat during that time. He had a big job on the day he promised to come by and still came to my home late on a Friday. He was there until about 7:30. He said he did it because he had promised me he would do it on Friday. The whole team there is courteous and friendly. This review is a bit overdue, but I felt I had to throw in my two cents. Had problems with my old furnace not kicking in last month and started calling around to places to have it fixed. A warm snap in the weather made me procrastinate a bit in having someone come out, but a few days of cold weather had me calling place after place one weekday afternoon. My list was exhausted and I cam across the number for Sunshine. I looked at their reviews and they seemed pretty average. It was about 5:15 in the afternoon and every shop I had called after 4:00 was closed. I was surprised when Someone actually answered. Said he could come out by 7:30 so I agreed to have him come out to take a look. Honestly I was only expecting him to come out, take a look and give me an estimate because he would need to get parts. To my surprise he said he could do the work, gave me a more than fair price considering the quick response and the work being done in the evening and the icing on the cake was that he had parts on the truck to fix it that night. An hour later with a new gas valve, thermocoupler and all the adjustments made I was back in business. I was more than pleased with the work and professional service. Will definitely use again and would recommend them to anyone I know with any heating or cooling problems. read more
