This place was the only place open in town for breakfast so I decided to give it a try. It is definitely a local spot with greasy food and gives an old town feel. We had 10 people in our party. We were seated quickly and the server brought us water. We quickly placed our order on two tickets. Then we waited over an hour for our food. I noticed that a man who entered the same time as us sat at the bar was served his lunch, ate and left before we were served any of our food. There was nothing special or unusual that we ordered. The first chef salad was amazing, well worth the $15 I paid for it. .I was so excited to get another one.. it sucks!!! There was only two people working one waitress and one cook. It was the only place open in town. So there were fifteen customers. We ordered an appetizer cheese sticks which came out thirty minutes after ordering. And then less than fifteen minutes later our food came out. They did give us extra cheese sticks. Stopped here on the way back from mining and was pleasantly surprised. Not a ton of options but the food was great! Got the cheeseburger which was cooked just right with great flavor. The fries were also cooked just right and slightly crispy. Plenty of seating and bar area too with TVs to watch the game or whatever. Worst Customer service and excuse of a human is manager Anni@ The Sunshine Station Restaurant. The folks at the Gas station AMAZING! Our family of 12 come here twice a day, very regulars. After waiting for over an hour, in a slow restaurant we politely asked the waitress the status, by the way waitress was great!! Good job handling your self Sarah, your Manager was out of line!!!!! Poor gal was so embarrassed. Our food was wrong the waitress noticed it before we did, and she took it back, with out us even asking. Then she brought it back again, and it was still wrong. It was simple, no cheese, no bell peppers. It went back again, to which Anni the manager tried to hand pick the peppers out yet missed several instead of making it correctly. We still said nothing the little waitress was so embarrassed, and said the order has been voided I'm so sorry. Anni flew out of the kitchen at my husband after he mentioned that maybe next time to spend a little more time and attention to a request. My husband is super laid back and not aggressive, that's my job, and the nicest guy you will ever meet. She starts in with we can't give you the customer service you need, don't ever come back in here again!!!! GET OUT!! This rocked us both back on or heels, you just lost a local family of 12 that comes at least 2 times a week, in a community of maybe 800, Business owner, and I don't keep things to myself as you can tell from this novel. I will reroute tourist and traffic because of this customer service to other deserving restaurants. I came here while on vacation to get a couple burgers. I waited several minutes longer than they had said it would take as they were busy, which was fine. I listened to the server complain about another customer not tipping her to the other customers at the bar. She was saying wait until she sees him in town and really lets him have a piece of her mind. (Professional..) Finally I saw my food come into the window and waited. She wasn't coming over to get it because her friend from the convenient store side had come over to say hello and she was telling her the story about the mean customer that didn't tip her. (After my experience I can see why.) I made eye contact with the cook several times and finally she told me to come get the to go containers out of the window because clearly the other gal wasn't going to. She actually told me twice. I finally stepped over the two steps behind the bar to grab them and the server came flying over to rudely tell me to NEVER do that again. (In front of other customers.) I told her I was told to and she said nothing. Just went to the cook and told her how frustrating it was and the cook told her she had told me to as well. She told her please don't do that again and came back over to me with a bag. She didn't say "I'm sorry, I didn't realize she had told you to. I shouldn't have over reacted." Nothing. Just asked if I wanted ketchup and that was it. No "have a nice day. Thanks for coming in." If you're going to complain on the job, at least be paying attention and definitely don't embarrass your customers. I will never spend another dollar here. Very disappointing especially when the convenient store lady had made such a good impression which is why I decided to have dinner there. read more

Remodeled restuarant, but crappy food. My chicken strips were freezer burnt. Service is slow , we where the only ones in there and found one clean table to sit at. Very confusing as you walk in there's no sign whether to seat yourself or wait to be seated. We're from out of town walked in with my family of 4 we went to go sit down and got yelled out to wait. Then a local couple came in and sat down and didn't get yelled at. Waitresses came off as very rude my brother got yelled at to get out the way as we waited at the front desk to be seated. Then two ladies came in and asked if a table was free and she rudely said "probably not can't you see we're busy right now." Finally I get to write a review for this place! I went there yrs ago with a boyfriend. He just got off work (summertime and hot). We sat ourselves...never got waited on. Had to go ask for menus...then had to ask them to take our orders. When we ordered soft drinks...we got them in a can...(everyone else had glasses). An hour later...still no food. We left our money on the counter for the pop and walked out. A b***h came running out after us telling us to never come back and commented on our old car. Why the hell would we ever come back? I've only had the pleasure of one meal there, but it was quite good! On a recent visit to the Inn at Philipsburg, I strolled down the hill to the Sunshine Station for one of the better breakfasts I have enjoyed recently. My waitress was welcoming and cheerful - a real accomplishment for that hour - and I felt right at home. I ordered the Mother Lode breakfast combination and enjoyed every bite! Breakfast is not the easiest meal to prepare, and usually one or more components fail. In this case, everything was perfect, from the omelette to the hash browns to the Texas Toast! To top things off, I could not even finish the meal - rare for me - so I had a later meal from the same breakfast. The decor and ambiance are very "Montana," meaning country-like and homey. So anytime you're cruising down Montana Hiway 1, the loop off I-90, make a point of visiting the Sunshine Station...preferably with a large appetite! read more
