Cute little place with great people and food. We went a couple times because everyone in our party liked it so I got to try the O.G. and the Secret Single as well as the fries and a beer. Beer choices are a nice variety, I like trying local beers and this gave me choices. Both burgers were outstanding, a little thicker than what you expect from a "smash" burger but this means they are giving you a good amount of food for a very fair price. (I did double the patties both times because I'm not really a sides person.) Just know that if you do this you may not want fries too, it's a lot of burger. The burgers have great flavor and the people working there are great. It's on our list of "go there at least once per trip places" for Missoula. When I went to order I felt rushed as the manager or owner wouldn't stop staring at me. The menu was small, like on a wall on a 9x12 inch paper small. I ordered a an OG cheeseburger with cheese, onions, ketchup and mustard. The guy got mad at me, I could litter see the frustration on his face and I had to apologize and tell him it was my first time there. He picked something else off the menu for me and said it was a better choice. I payed $15.00 for a burger and fries. The burger was small. Maybe 3 inches across and the fries were stale and hard like they had been sitting under a heat lamp forever. The atmosphere presented as a luxury well put together restaurant but they provided fast food service and takeout. Didn't know whether I was at Macdonald's or a fine dining restaurant. Also I could probably get a burger quarter pounder and fries from Macdonald's and have more for then what I got at this place. Also the burger was so greasy it was dripping in it. It wasn't even five minutes after eating before I was rushing home feeling sick from the food. I will never recommend this place to anyone ever. If you go there bring something for your stomach cause you will need it afterwards. read more

I drove from Spokane to Missoula to visit my 49th state. Being a diners drive ins and dives guy I chose Wally and Buck as my Missoula destination. The place is small, absolutely tiny but it's sleek modern and clean inside. The gentleman behind the counter was very cool and super helpful. I had the Wally burger and it was a greasy juicy drippy mess BURGER BLISS!!! It comes wrapped in paper and you open it like a kid at Christmas. Inside was this big tasty sloppy delicious burger. Juice and toppings everywhere. I dove in and enjoyed every morsel. The bacon jam was jammin, the beef was outstanding and the bun make a gallant effort to hold it all together. Traveling through Missoula and asked my hotel where to eat for dinner and she said I had to go here for a great burger. And she was not wrong. I got the Wally Burger and scarfed it down. So freaking good. Located in 'downtown', wasn't too busy. But it's near the college campus so I'm sure it can get busy during the day. Workers were nice and I also had to order the peanut butter ice cream sandwich for dessert. The salt & pepa fries were great and got the sauces to try. In my opinion this place is over hyped for what it is. Parking is great for starters I had to park a block away. If you have anyone in your party with limited mobility this is a hard pass unless you have a wheel chair for them. I was not impressed with the staff here at all. I was the only person in line and they were very annoyed at me being a first timer asking questions about the beer. I read the menu prior to coming in and opted for the Wally burger and fries. I figured maybe there having a bad day continue to kill with kindness and the entire visit all I got was very short irritated responses. I had very high expectations for what this was going to be based on reviews. If you want a burger bath from the juiciness of the burger look no further. For a smash burger this lacked any type of crust/sear on the patty you would expect. I was really surprised by the lack of flavor in the burger. I took two bites and opted to trash the rest. The fries here are definitely worth getting. I wish they put some more of that seasoning they use on them and they would be perfect. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe it's they hate out of towners. Makes me wish I would have just eaten at the fair at least they were friendly there. I'd be willing to give this place another shot if they were friendly. If I wanted to be treated like this I'd just ask my ex wife if I could come to dinner at her house. At least the Haybag draft beer and fries were good and only reason for 3 stars. Meh....many other places that have burgers for less money and more food. The help and owner are dismissive, and it's expensive. Two burgers and fries cost us almost 40 bucks. Also I was in a hurry and called it in trying to save time and they won't take a phone order unless you pay in advance. Just make the food I'm on my way with cash. The burgers are decent and you won't be upset at the taste but you'll be frustrated while you eat by the cost and rude help. read more

When we went in, and were waiting in line to order, an overweight worker (I presume the owner), came up to me. He told me in a snarky tone, with all his double chins showing, that we could have outside food in the store and we need to throw it away. The food at Wally & Buck is awesome. We split the OG burger and Buck Buck chicken sandwich- you can't go wrong with either. I had the Wally Burger with Salt 'n' Pepper fries. It was superb!! I enjoy the burgers here as they have the crust of a smash burger but thick enough meat to be able to enjoy it. The friehave a great seasoning to enhance the shoestring fries texture. One of my coworkers had the same as me and couldn't comment on how it tasted as she couldn't stop eating to comment. My other coworker got the OG burger with Salt 'n' Pepper fries. Her comment about the burger was, "How can you go wrong with an OG?" The staff here was fantastic!! To be honest, we could not try the food due to the restaurants location and having no Handicapped parking. This restaurant sits along a one way street with no parking on the same side of the road as the restaurant, and no parking lot. There are parking lots on the street down from this location but they are pay to park lots. On a cold rainy day with one in a wheelchair and a baby in tow, this is not ideal. read more
