Stopped in to get gas on a road trip. I noticed the place in the back of the gas station. Wife and I went in and the lady (owner) was super nice. Place was clean and most Important food was really good. We did the basics. Hot and sour soup (really good). Pork fried rice and chicken chow mein. Really good food for such an out of the way place. Also had pot stickers. They are more crispy type. I prefer soft potstickers with a crunchy bottom crust but they were still good. Would love to have tried other dishes but it's just the two of us. It's very surprising, but this is some of the best Chinese/Thai I've had. I travel 100% for my job and it took me to Deer Lodge this week. There aren't many choices here in DL and this place looks scary. It's connected to a gas station, right off of I-90. This was called Chinese Garden, now it is Sesame Wok. The inside isn't much to look at and you'll usually see dirty dishes piled up. The only two people I've seen working in the three times I've been here are the husband and wife who are from Thailand. You can tell they work hard. The atmosphere seems shady, but the food is fantastic. Huge portions and decent prices. Some of the best spring rolls I've had (veggie). The sweet and sour pork isn't the generic type everyone has (that stuff is usually purchased frozen). This is hand cut and breaded. The veggies are fresh and plentiful. I do feel they use way too much sauce and gravy but you can drain it. Singapore rice noodles are a favorite, thin angel hair sautéed with onions and eggs with a spicy curry flavor. I added broccoli and it was delish. The real stars of this menu are the Thai dishes that are hidden in a tiny box under the combo plates. The Thai curry meatballs guys! The meatballs are two gigantic, hand made meatballs with curry sauce drizzled. Also, the pad Thai! Decent food but crazy server lady. She went insane when I tried to talk to her about the BBQ pork appetizer being SPOILED.. . Everything else was great. Good Pad Thai- good spring rolls, good special dish (can't remember name.). But her behavior was already odd in the times we have eaten there before- she's quirky and awkward- but it didn't bother us. But when she grabbed the bill from my hand, violently, I sat in awe. She couldn't handle being told that the pork was off- I eat a lot of Asian sliced pork with hot mustard sauce and sesame seeds...and I know when meat has turned on you. She was immediately super rude and defensive, as though I was offending her. I wasn't even upset. I just told her, "The pork is very odd- very sour and off." BOOM! Insanity hit the ceiling. She stormed all around. She yelled! She stomped to her register area and rewrote the amount due then told us to leave. We paid out bill with a tiny tip, but we will never be back. I've been I. Walked in and noticed many of the tables were dirty with dishes and a few tables that had customer's sitting at them. I decided to take my food to go and looked at a menu. Being truck drivers, we have to park across the street, in the back parking lot of the fuel station and walk to pick up this order. I get back to the truck and discover an appetizer was missing. I call and she refused to believe me. She kept insisting it was in the bag. I offered to send her a picture because she was calling me a LIAR. . She wouldn't quit talking! She refused to compromise - replace this order, credit the card and she absolutely refused to deliver it to me. (Remember I had to walk a ways to get there). So rude and her behavior was ridiculous. This was probably the best restaurant I have been to in Montana. When we walked in, we were greeted and given the choice of a seating spot and sat down. We ordered quickly and then asked the lady if she could turn off the sound system because it had a glitched and fuzzy feeling to it and we all had headaches. She responded with "No music?" and turned it off without a problem and then came over and took our orders. We ordered 3 different dishes and they were all amazing. She talked to us about Yellowstone and what her experiences were and said "I like to go. My husband doesn't like to though. He stays in the car while I go look." We laughed and finished eating and then her husband came out to greet us while we paid the bill and asked us about the past few days we had been in Montana and asked how much we liked Yellowstone. We told him we were impressed by the food and he thanked us and watched us walk to the door. I liked this restaurant and will definitely be coming back to see him and his wife if we ever come back to Montana for any reason. The place was EMPTY. Right on I 90 but very unassuming, looks like it's part of the convenience store. Got a lunch combo number 7 and it was just delicious! The vegetables were fresh, the shrimp was tasty and the sauce was light/unbelievable. Fried roll was also very good and the pork fried rice was very light and had very tender small it's of pork Overall tremendously delicious. Not an amazing amount of food but very high quality and left me wanting more. Still a little hungry so I ordered an order of their pot stickers, six pieces. Absolutely stunning food. We ordered the pad kee mao, pad Thai, and the seafood curry. Since we are from Malaysia, Thai flavors are very close to us and this restaurant did not disappoint. The portions were surprisingly large for a relatively cheap price. The flavors though were truly authentic.The curry especially was very flavorful and we fell in love with it.
