I've been to my fair share of concert venues and I can say in comparison Sunshine Studios is a fabulous locale. The sound quality is clear and very well balanced (sound mix guy is excellent at what he does) and the staff exceptionally courteous. We had a table for two at the Trixter/Pretty Boy Floyd Show and Christina was so nice to permit us to stay after sound check (we had tixs as part of the meet and greet) and she even allowed us our choice of table. Tixs for a table included a complimentary water (Monster water runs $6/can) and wait service. Sunshine Studios does not have a kitchen but a food truck is available for the hangry (Gyro Doner was in hand and the food was delish!) As for bevvies, the bar is stocked with the basics so the typical two ingredient drink items or beer can be ordered. Also note that Sunshine Studios will assess a 3% service fee at the bar for when paying by credit card. Tables run along the west wall and in front of the speakers so take note if you have sensitive ears. The rest of the venue is GA and ADA accessible. Sunshine Studios has merch as well. Tees run $25, patches and stickers around $5-$10, ear plugs $5. Some cool smoking paraphernalia is also available. read more

We went to see dad rock this last Saturday at sunshine studios and being a 100% disabled vet. I asked if they could accommodate me with a chair, so I could sit, they refused, saying that every single fold-out chair in the whole building was taken and they couldn't help me regardless of my handicap situation. But I could sit out back on the benches and listen to the music, not seeing, I paid for a ticket, but they wanted me just to listen to it like I was going to go home and listen to the stereo. They refused and then they came to me and said, oh, we got a special seat for you right up front a foot and a 1/2 away from 6 amps, so I would go deaf the last band to play their lead guitarist, the ones from Oklahoma heard the whole conversation and said, hell no, you take my chair He said, because I know it's against the law for them not to accommodate a handicapped person. Then they came to me and said, well, if you want a chair, you can bring in any chair you want, if you got a chair in your car, go get it, but as soon as you leave, there's no reentry, so as soon as you leave to get your chair, you're not welcome to come back in, I would not recommend sunshine studios. They broke state law by declining to help a disabled veteran, a disabled person, but also by trying to stick them up front right, a foot and a 1/2 away from the amps, there was nobody sitting there. They did that on purpose because I bitched and complained, so now it's time to file A complaint with the state so they can go down and investigate. I think it's time to get ahold of everybody. Maybe the fire department to go check them out. The health department, whoever else I can think of they violated state law and they need to be shut down or investigated plain and simple. read more

If you looking to get into fights this is the place for you. I've been to three shows there and every time there was multiple fights. And the drink selection sucked and were like paying for drinks at a stadium- way overpriced, which made the offer of illicit substances seem appealing. My first time coming was for a cabaret show. Actually it was a competition. I had such an amazing time! I've lived so close to sunshine studios and never stopped by because I'm not a concert goer. But! I never even thought to check to see if there are other events. I definitely will start to now. All of the staff I encountered were so friendly. The place was set up to easily navigate. Great venue with an incredible sound system and some of the nicest, most friendly staff I've encountered in my years of going to shows!

I went there three weeks ago and saw several bands. I think it was $20 to get in which is not bad but the drinks were simply outrageous. I got a Tito's and 7-Up and it was $17.31 so I think that's out of my price range. It was interesting. they made me walk back to the car with a crossbody bag because it was "too big" even when there were real baclpacks there...the bartender cut me off after two drinks even tho I wasn't drunk...and security walked up to me and stole my weed even though people were taking acid and coke in front of hi. It is an ok venue. Smaller but that's not a bad thing. You can get up close to see your fave bands. Only thing we didn't like was they closed the smoking area down before the end of the show which didn't make much sense. But all in all, still a good time seeing a show. Beers weren't outrageously priced either. $8 for draft or can/bottle. Definitely could be better but have certainly seen worse. read more

Hands down one of the greatest places to come watch a concert for a great price. Most of the time the musicians that play interact with the crowd which make the value you get with the tickets a much greater 1experience. There merchandise is reasonably priced. They just launched a new online store from their Facebook page. The owner Christina Corbitt is hands down 1 of the nicest people you could ever emagine. They bring in national acts for people to enjoy and it's genuinely a packed house every time you go. On top of it, this is a veteran friendly location. They tend to host veteran events frequently. I actually don't like this venue. I've been to at least a dozen in Colorado. I think it's just that they try too hard. There's screens everywhere, the bar doesn't seem that diverse to me. The merch table area is cramped. Trying to go to the bathroom is a little uncomfortable being that the stall doors rise so high. I only go to this venue when there's a show I MUST go to. read more

Went for the first time a couple weeks ago to see Radkey. After the show I kicked myself for living 5 minutes away and never using this facility. What a cool little venue, fit 400 comfortably, super nice staff (i.e. Bartender and security dude). What put this over the Black Sheep for me was the cleanliness and sound. The digital sound system in this place makes even the loudest music comfortable. Words were still easy to make out while the rest of the band just jammed the shit out of their instruments. read more

I think the name of this place is meant to be ironic. We came here on a night when a friend was performing. The building is decent enough, but its your standard grunge band stage. Go through the side door, to a temporary cashier stand. Walk by a temporary bar and snack stand, into the venue. It's "family friendly" so there are children everywhere. Black t-shirts abound. Fog is pumped into the room for ambiance, so be aware if you have breathing issues. Back porch open for smokers. Sketchy parking lot for your car. read more

Very negative experience with security staff. My son was performing so he sold me tickets to the show. Showed up at 6 to find out he would be playing closer to 10. The tickets did not state this but they have a no reentry rule. Even though the security staff knew the specifics of the situation, they did not allow reentry unless tickets were repurchased. When asked, the very unsatisfactory explanation was that minors could go out and drink at the parking lot, reenter, and cause a liquor license issue. We were not minors, they knew our situation, and how does purchasing a ticket alleviate the issue? Basically they just use it to charge you twice. One security guard was willing to do the "for future reference" deal, but her superior stepped in and squashed that. She also threatened to kick us out for questioning the unreasonableness of the rule and her actions. Since I wanted to be there for my son I complied, but her treatment of the customers, and arrogance left a very bad taste in my mouth. read more

Sunshine Studios Live is one of the best kept secrets in Colorado Springs for live music. They have a great stage, nice sound system and lighting system. They have something going on all the time in the venue and if you check their calendar you'll see national acts coming through on a regular basis as well as some of the better local bands. If you like metal you definitely need to check this place out. The cover is reasonable and all in all it's a great place to see a show. It's a little off the beaten path but worth the trip. I highly recommend it. They also do special events and host private functions so you can do your own party or event there. Plus they have a recording studio if you're in a band and want to do some recording. Two thumbs way up! read more

I've attended a few shows at Sunshine Studios Live and had a great time at all of them! It's a fun place to hang out, see local acts, discover new talent, and meet the bands! If you're a local band, don't play here. It's not worth your time. It's way out of the way, the pay is shit, and they try to get you to purchase your performance (they record every one, and the quality is crap). We had to do a pay to play when I played here back a few years ago. The Flux, Triple Nickel, and the Black Sheep are the venues to play here in the Springs. I could see this being a good venue for a dance off or DJ set or something. read more

Let me start out by congratulating Sunshine Studios for bringing a really cool live music venue to S. Colorado Springs. My g.f and I have been several times. I have a suggestion that hopefully keep customers satisfied. The admission scene at the entrance was disorganized. There were 4 guys trying to check people in and sell tickets at the same time. We paid the additional $100.00 for the VIP section. We did receive our complementary beverage but were not issued the "Blue" drink tickets upon entry. I went back to retrieve them from the door guy whom appeared not to know which tickets to issue. I love the venue and the raw, live bands that play there but the ticketing area is a complete CLUSTER- "F". If your patrons are willing to shell out extra dough for a reserved table, you might think about a designated cocktail runner to and from that area. You guys are doing a good job with the music and I have seen vast improvement but to ratchet up a higher degree of professionalism with the ticket exchange and stepping up your game to accommodate those of us who paid extra for the v.i.p reserved tickets. read more
