We were walking around downtown and decided to stop into Supernova for a couple of drinks and a few arcade games. It seemed like a fun place, and we were looking forward to checking it out. Unfortunately, that never happened. We stood at the bar for about 10 minutes waiting to get change for the arcade games and to start a tab. There were several other customers already in the bar who had been served, but despite waiting patiently, no one ever acknowledged or even greeted us. After waiting without any interaction, we decided to leave. We never got the chance to try the drinks or play any games because the lack of service sent us elsewhere. Maybe it was just an off night, but first impressions matter, and unfortunately, this one missed the mark. read more

So this is a cool little bar. The walls are lined with old vintage video games. The people are super friendly and not in the ooh let me be a nice guy way. The burgers was one of the best I have had in a long time. Now I went with my girls and it's one of those places where we ended up because of someone putting wrong info down we had just finished the ghost tour and wanted pizza...they don't do pizza. So we're like ok the bars clean they just finished trivia (8:30 Wednesday nights) it looks cool. I laughed because they even carded me (makes an old lady feel good). So we're sitting at the bar and one of the regulars comes over and starts to talk to my youngest daughter about her cat ears. Gave us the food recommendations. And we got a good laugh out of the pizza/no pizza thing. Well my oldest daughter had a migraine going (not surprising when she worked 6 doubles prior to coming here. So not exactly a big fan of the noise level of a bar) she and I took a seat at the bar while my youngest went to see the drink menu so we could order. And a guy starts chatting her up. She's like yeah I am with my family sorry he's like oh can I meet them. So great sure we will talk to people no big deal. So he comes up and starts talking. Oh boy nice guy and a little bit toasty. He is being super polite until he starts to try and touch all of us and won't back off. Now this is where I get to praise the staff and regulars. They were trying to run interference from the guy. Who in "nice guy" fashion wanted to know what he did to get us to leave (we had finished our food and drinks and were waiting for the ride back to the hotel on the the patio) so the bartender comes out and runs him back inside. Then he comes out again and the cook comes out to run interference. He actually stayed out until our car arrived. 200% respect for the regulars and the team there who saw a guy being an ass and stepped in worried that he was making us uncomfortable. Who was a bit but more as an annoyance than a leaving offense. While I could use some more drink options for what I prefer to drink. We will have to come back on our next trip. read more

Came here last night with my husband and good friends visiting in town. When you first get there, they have their bouncers tell you about their covid procedures and ensure everyone's compliant and they have gloves to play arcade games so it limits exposure! Wednesday is wing night and at 60¢ a wing, you can't beat that!! A bunch of great flavors too, we had teriyaki, dragon, mild, hot, and buffalo. We also got some drinks, a lager on tap, Coronas, and a Moscow mule! Overall, pretty good! The only bummer was the music was so loud you practically have to scream to keep a conversation going. read more

Definitely had mixed feelings coming here last night because of the bad reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. This bar is cool af along with it's employees. It was PACKED and the 2 female bartenders were working their tails off like a boss to keep up with everyone's orders. It's a shame a few snowflakes and their reviews have to spoil what this place has to offer. Take it from me, it's a great place to hang out, the beer is great, the food is decent (we had the fried pickles) and the staff are phenomenal. I will DEFINITELY be coming back again. Oh Hell Yes!!! Supernova is certainly my Jam!!! I LOVE PINBALL!!! Had heard there were a couple of places around C.S. that had arcade games including Pinball machines. Supernova had some solid reviews, and I definitely wanted a place that had some grub. My mom happen to be in town, so we finally made our way over to Supernova. Ordered some appetizers, got some drinks, and loaded up on quarters. I think we stayed a lot longer than we anticipated, but only because we had such a great time. Our bartender was awesome, I did ask his name but to be honest I had a bit to drink and do not recall what it was. We were able to watch the football game as well, so we were in like Flynn. Overall the food was pretty good, it is bar food but it ain't half bad. The service was awesome, and also on the plus side their alcohol prices were pretty decent. We had an awesome time, and we are certainly looking forward to coming back... especially because I need to beat my mom's high score, lol. read more

Supernova is a very fun place to stop by for good tasting drinks and old school arcade games. It is a very fun atmosphere that is unique to the Colorado Springs area. It is not the fanciest bar in the Downtown area, but it also doesn't try to be. Our group of friends walked in, ordered drinks, were [very] quickly served, and spent the next hour / hour and a half playing the arcade games around the bar. Pinball was by far my favorite, with around 6 different pinball machines. The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive to every customer. It was very clean throughout the entire bar, even with it being very full. We did not order food, since we had already eaten, but all the meals that came out looked very appetizing. Me and the wife ended up at this wonderful place of joy for adults that grew up in the 80s.. As you walk in you get slapped with a nostalgic feeling. And the major bonus is they serve food, beer, and hours of fun playing all the oldies. Yup its not the new stuff its bunch of squares moving around, but that was fun for us back in our childhood. Im glad we found this place, its awesome, beer and video games, two of the greatest inventions right next to the wheel and pizza... :D They have most of the best arcades and reasonable price. I loved this bar. I went all the time despite the fact that it gets overcrowded, there's nowhere to sit, and the drinks are subpar. I didn't care. Above all that there was one game that mattered. The game that really made the difference from a bad day to being cheered on by your closest friends and a beer at your side. Space Invaders. This game was THE ONLY game I played at Super Nova. I spent BILLS on this game. It never ate my quarters and always provided the support I needed and love I deserved. However, Supernova has removed Space Invaders from their lobby. I'm not sure what they have to offer anymore. I feel alone in a crowded room. The music, numb to my ears without the sounds of Space Invaders being destroyed. There's nowhere to sit. Nothing to do. I've been looking forward to supernova for the happy hour special which starts at 3pm and ends at 6pm! They have fried Mac and cheese so I had to try some! I also ordered cheese curds and mini corn dogs! All of it was pretty good and the portions were HUGE ! The Happy Hour special is such a baller move and the menu has lots to offer at a reasonable price. The inside of the bar was cool and it had great photo ops! I went with my toddler and even though it has an arcade it's not as family friendly It might be better for older children. After a certain hour it turns into a 21+ an over! I rated it a 3 star because the service was a bit slow. There was only one waitress and it took us a while to get and pay for our food. Also, the women's bathroom was not the prettiest! One of the toilet seat was stained and really needed to be replaced. Other than that, I would def go here for the happy hour special ! read more

This place is a hidden gem of fun in Colorado Springs! We visited for after dinner drinks and had a great time. We had the Busta Lime which was absolutely tart, sweet, and just delectable. My fiancé had the tequila dun it and thought it too was excellent. We played games-all the ones we loved most from the 80's, to include Tetris, Ms. Pac Man and Mortal Kombat. Went there for a date night with my husband who is a total nerd so we thought it would be a fun spot to get food, drinks and play some retro video games. The food is way overpriced for the quality, which was pretty disappointing, even for bar food. The cocktails were pretty good though. The vibe is super laid back but no one greets you at all and you basically have to walk up to the bar and wait until the bartender even looks in your direction to be acknowledged. No one who works there looks happy to be there lol. None of that was a deal breaker until we went to cash out our tab and didn't realize until after we left and went to three other bars/stores that they gave us SOMEONE ELSE'S debit card!!! Now we take responsibility for not checking the name on the debit card when it was handed back but we handed them a USAA debit card and got a USAA debit card back. Trust me, from now on, we will be checking our cards every single time after handing them over to pay a bar/restaurant bill. BUT, as a business, you should take extra care when handling a customer's credit card and make absolutely sure you're giving back to the correct person. What's strange is that our last name, which starts with an A, sounds nothing even remotely close to the name of the guy, whose last name started with an F. So when my husband told the guy our last name to get our card back and pay the tab, he cashes out on the wrong card and gives us the wrong card.....not cool at all. So after going to several other places downtown and making purchases on someone else's card, we don't realize it's the wrong card until we cash out another bar tab. At the last bar we go to, my husband gives his name and the bartender tells him that he gave him a card with this other guy's name. So like 3 hours later, we go back to Supernova to straighten everything out and pay our bill and we want to find the guy to pay him back EVERY cent of what we unknowingly bought on his card but the Supernova employees tell us, he just left moments before we got there and basically said he would just cancel his card. They didn't even try to take his contact info down just in case they found his card so now we have no idea how we are going to find this guy and make this situation right by paying him back. This was an honest mistake on our part and want to make it right. I'm sure it's an honest mistake on the employee at Supernova but it's a HUGE mistake that screwed up two different customers' evenings and this is why, I won't ever go back. read more

I felt like a compressed neutron star as I said no mas to Supernova and floated out in search of less cough, less syrup, and more alcohol. You probably won't plan your night for Supernova, but at the edge of drunkenness, it will envelop you like a medicinal-flavored black hole. I will now be moving out of my house and living in the back of Supernova. I effing LOVE this place! came here on a whim last night and I can say that it's my favorite bar in Colorado Springs. This "Arcade" bar has some really great classics such as Mortal Combat, Pac Man and Galactica. But one of my favorite things about it is the Juke Box. It has online access to thousands of songs allowing you to listen to absolutely everything. And what's even cooler is you can pay just a little bit more for your song to be played next! The crowd in here is like one that I've never seen anywhere else. It seemed like it was mostly 30 and under, allowing me to feel at home. Now some may not understand, but I love any place where locals are and soldiers are not. I do not care for the testosterone and this place has none of it. I didn't have a chance to try the food but I had just eaten before coming in or else I would have for sure. The beer selection was great! they didn't have too much on tap but they have tons of local beers from Left Hand, Bristol, New Belgium and a few others that I was too intoxicated to remember. They also have JELLO SHOTS!!!! Now this may seem disgusting or immature for you snobs. But I could care less and you can go elsewhere. I ate more than I care to remember. But damn were they good. The service here is top notch, the bartenders are absolutely awesome and hilarious and this place will now become my go-to for as long as I'm in this city. read more

Supernova, what a rad place! Small bar and grill with a bountiful selection of 80's and 90's video games most of which are still just a quarter! The draft selection is very limited, but they know a thing or two about beer. They offer a selection of Colorado craft beers from greats such as Avery, Bristol, and Ska. Amber (the owner) was super sweet and hooked my friends and I up for my birthday. Amber (the bartender) was sassy, fun, and she was really quick which is always a plus. The only thing that was a bummer about Supernova = some of the games were not working, or working well (on Ms. Pacman couldn't go up. And getting it up is highly important). Area 51 was broken... This place is really fun! It's got a great crowd of regulars. Lots of retro games you can play, be prepared to lose your parking meter quarters for the next month here. Totally fun. Some of the bartenders are really cool, some aren't. Some pour drinks that taste like vodka and some pour drinks that taste like soda. I prefer vodka. The bathrooms are painted with chalkboard paint and you can write on them which is really, really fun. I've never had the food so I can't comment on that. Some nights they do last call at 1:30, but last Friday they were putting all the chairs up and turning the lights on and shutting down the patio at 1:15 which was a huge bummer. Tj was the worst bouncer I have ever seen he kicked my food and water across the street because he thought I was too drink when I was just trying to sober up he refused to let me sit on a bench and tried to wrestle me if I touched "his" fence I get protection of the property but there is a line and he crossed it screw this place for security and they have no bounds for helping people the service was fantastic inside though if they let you in Mandy is a great bartender the only thing is if they don't let you in they are complete pricks read more

My friends came from arizona to celebrate my birthday with me and we had 48 hours to show them an amazing time while also trying to have a great birthday! We also just moved here so we dont know many places, We picked this place because we thought it would be a great stop on a tour/getting to know the town. This place had no people who were excited to be working, no one was stoked about any of the beers or games, just not into the place and it really brought our energy level down. The servers actually were annoyed to come to us which made sense that we were there for 1.5 hiurs and got contacted....truth... 2 times. Super bummed since it was such a cool vibe but the people brought it down. Hopefully this was just our experience but 48 hours is valuable when thats all you have with your best friends! read more
