There are also waivers on line that must be filled out. Staff was nice and helpful. They drive you and the tubes to a spot a little down river and off you go. Tubing is always good fun, but our experience suffered a bit due to 1). The heat, and 2). The sloooow moving current. We're talkin' almost stagnant in a few spots. We did beach ourselves a few times and took a cooling swim, which was nice. Neither of the two negatives were the fault of Broken Paddles, obviously. Speaking of which, they do give you a paddle which was a must for us. We'd probably still be out on the river. We didn't go for it (we should have), but they have coolers and cooler tubes for rent for "beverages." You text or call them when you reach the "first bridge." They pick you up at their get out spot a little farther down, after the "second bridge." We ended up getting out of the tubes and wading the last 1/4 mile. They have waterproof pelican boxes you can rent or phone bags for sale. You can leave your car keys with them. Pretty sure we'd go with the kayaks next time.

Foggy Bottoms is a super cute spot with tons of charm and very friendly staff. We arrived to check in (no reservation) at 10:30am and the staff gave us a very honest warning that water levels were SUPER low. They explained the pain points of canoeing in such low water levels very thoroughly, but despite the warnings, we decided to give a go and I'm so glad we did! Because of the staffs transparency, we knew what to expect and we were prepared to encounter a few spots along the way that gave us a little trouble. All in all, it wasn't bad at all! We spent 6 hours on this 3 hour ride making tons of stops along the way to float in the inter tubes we brought along with us. Had such a great time and can't wait to come back!

I've camped with them and kayaked and it's a great experience all around! Plenty of parking, then they shuttle you to the starting point of the river. Once they get your boat into the water you make your way back and it's just such a gorgeous way to spend a summer or fall day! Pack a lunch and paddle away! Staff is kind. Fellow canoe-ers and kayak-ers are fun to talk to along the way. I think my only complaint would be that many large groups go and sometimes just sit in the middle of the river in a clump and it can be difficult to get around them. That however, is not Foggy Bottoms fault. If you are looking to get outside and do something active I highly recommend you use FB. They are convenient and a great way to spend your day. We visited the Red River with Run-A-Muck on a Saturday at 8:00 AM. We met at the rental place, got…read morea safety speech and life vests, then took a (somewhat old but functional) bus to the launch point. Lots of shade, but we stayed on the water quite a while and ended up out in the heat and sun of midday. We did not all prepare for this and are paying for that. Overall, it was a lovely float with some areas with added challenge (rocks, submerged trees, shallows) to navigate. There are quite a few rocky shore areas where you can pull up the kayaks for a break or snack. Speaking of, we brought water, but failed to bring any food. It would have been nice to have something even though we planned to eat after. The exit from the river is a bit rough, but the young men helping were wonderful. We got 3 single kayaks, and 3 upgraded single kayaks. We definitely felt the upgrade was worth it for stability, more room for heavy people, adjustable footrests, and adjustable back rest. We had a great time and definitely intend to go back again.

They texted us in the morning to confirm our reservation then promptly met us at the Jefferson Springs boat ramp. We were quickly outfitted an off to explore. We found lots of wildlife and pristine river banks that we were free to explore as all the land on both sides of the river is public. We spent about 3.5 hours on the water and had quick lunch break in the middle at the great park where the ramp is located that is set up with picnic tables, public restrooms and grills! The Stones River company kept in touch with us and were ready at the end of our rental to promptly collect the kayaks. We would highly recommend this company for your kayak rental needs!

Upon arrival our shuttle driver helped take our food and drinks over to the pontoon where we met our driver for the pontoon for the few hours we were out. We drove to a side of the lake where it was extremely quiet and peaceful as we anchored down for a little bit and took out our donuts and other water devices. Our pontoon driver was awesome and interactive, taking professional photos for us and engaging in great conversation. People in TN sure are way more friendly than in other places! We got back to shore safely and overall had an incredible experience. Ain't nothing like a day on a lake! Would definitely recommend if you're in the area!

He had the baby back ribs "sticky style" and he said they were the best ribs he has ever had. I had a grilled chicken salad and an order of sweet potato fries. The fries were as good as any I have had. The salad was a salad. I think it was iceberg lettuce. Everything was fresh. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was friendly and attentive. They do allow you to bring your own alcohol, but they do not sell any at the restaurant, so make sure you bring it, if you want it.

This was my first experience on the Duck River, and it was a great one! Higher Pursuits made…read morebooking online really easy, the pricing was fair, many different options as to what type of boat you wanted for the day, and offered updates on Facebook in regards to weather/closings for the day. The location was really easy to find, once we arrived we checked in and were offered some general information about what to do and the location of changing rooms/restrooms. We were also given instructions about the route we would be floating, the vast collection of mussels we may see, and information about other wildlife we may come across, and safteg information. The launch is a quick drive from the base location. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. They got us all set up and sent us on our way. The water was shallow, but still had some nice current in places. The Duck River was extremely peaceful, and not over crowded (the spacing out between groups from Higher Pursuits helped with that greatly). Getting picked up at the end, and knowing where to stop was also made to be a breeze. Higher Pursuits runs things like a well oiled machine and really has a great system going! Between the ease of everything, the peaceful kayaking location, and the friendly customer service I could not have asked for a better experience!
