Everyone who works at Sunspot is super helpful from initial consult to system design to installation and even with follow-up to make sure necessary documents were submitted for state and federal tax rebates. On top of being incredibly professional, Sunspot Solar is also heavily involved with the Las Cruces community at large. They clearly take that rare extra step to make sure customers are satisfied with their personalized system as well as giving back to our community in a very big way. As far as my own solar system.....I couldn't be happier. We receive a check from the electric company every single month instead of having to pay a bill, we can check system output at any time from any computer, and we receive monthly production reports so we know each panel is working at maximum efficiency. Another selling point for me was that Sunspot does not use solar panels made in China like some of their competitors. I know there are several companies out there, but I cannot imagine another which offers the same degree of excellent customer service, as well as giving back to our community in such a big way. My Solar Installation was a component of a much larger project. I added insulation, replaced my roof and coated it with elastomeric paint and replaced my heat pumps before Sunspot could install my 8.6Kw System. The whole project required the services and cooperation of 6 different entities. The people at Sunspot were professional, courteous and punctual. I was amazed that the entire project was completed in only 2 weeks total. There were no hidden surprises and I got exactly what I paid for. Sunspot exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them!! While it does add value to my home and the tax credits are a nice incentive, that was not my motivation to put solar on my home. I did it to lower my living expenses later in life. My home is ALL Electric, so once my mortgage is paid off, my only overhead short of maintenance will be City Water,Sewer & Garbage, Property Tax and Insurance. The bottom line for me when assessing any contractor is simply "Would I hire them again?" In the case of Sunspot, my answer is an unqualified YES. They exceeded my expectations with respect to their easy-to-do business with manner, their consistent success in doing what they said they'd do, when they said they'd do it, and in the way they said they'd do it. Of course, it is also very satisfying to not have paid a penny to the local electric company in the 13 months since my solar panel system went operational. And the 40% tax credit we were able to use in our latest tax return sets us up to have the system pay for itself in about 6-7 years.
