Heavenly! From the moment I walked in everyone very friendly and informative. The spa was clean and I had an hour and a half reservation. I first started in Garden of the Gods mineral water hot tub , then went to the sauna which you could toss water and causing it to steam and then the cold plunge which it took me about 20 times to actually get all the way in, but I did it and it was so invigorating. Now for the most important part of this review. When I arrived I was limping and my back was killing me! Fast forward 2 hours ALL BETTER! NO JOKE! I am 68 yrs old and prior gymnast marathon runner and now pickleball player with lots of old injuries and now osteoarthritis. Thanks to this spa I feel GREAT! I enjoyed my soak, but I felt like it was kind of a bare bones spa experience. I've been to other spas that allow people to use the amenities before a booked service, that's not the case here. You'll need to take advantage of the space within the 90 minutes you're allotted. In addition to my soak, I took advantage of the hot tub and the pools on the lower levels. Best kept secret in manitou! I had no idea there was a spring water spa like this so close to the Springs. It was busy when I went but it was also Labor Day weekend. It felt very peaceful and the selection and amount of tubs is decent... not too expensive and the customer service is good. I wish the tubs would get a couple degrees hotter... the supposed hotter saline pool didn't feel warmer than the personal pool we had that was 103 degrees. My biggest gripe with this place is the lack of a better changing room. On the top floor by the check-in counter is the "changing room" but all it is is a one person bathroom that felt gross changing/showering in... there are additional changing spots/ bathrooms on the bottom floor but I don't know if the situation is any better. Asked the front desk how to get to the pool/sauna etc after I was done with the tub and I was told my reservation time was finished, so I couldn't go in (7:30 pm finish time). You are expected to use the other amenities DURING your booked tub time, not before, not after. I never seen that verbiage on the booking. MISLEADING and CHEAP. read more

This was the perfect start to our vacation. We booked a tub on 3rd floor. The facility was clean and the staff were very friendly. We loved the cold plunge pool and the convince of the clock showing the time. The saline pools were great and it was nice to have the different temps. The pools were a bit close together so great if you have a larger group and want to socialize. Book the private tun for a bit more money if you want privacy. However people were respectful overall and voices were kept low. The only downside was the lack of bathroom facilities. On our floor there were 12 people using 2- 2 shower bathrooms. We only did the soak and I would do other services in the future. The parking situation is on the street and I'm off times it's free for 2 hours. The price was very reasonable. I had never been to such a place, my friend an I came here and she picked the 2nd level. Check-in was very easy, and we signed our waivers. The restrooms here are very nice, and they offer shampoo and body wash in the showers. If you forget your bathing suit, they have all sizes (for men) and the trunks are $30. They also have complimentary sandals (to borrow) if you forget yours. I was hoping to do more people watching, but it was a Friday afternoon. The scenic views are nice from the 2nd level. The water was very hot (104 degrees). They have a cold plunge on the 1st floor and a cool and warm soaking area as well on the 1st floor. The experience was definitely different. Took some friends there that were visiting and they loved it. We reserved one of the tubs to have some R&R and it was lovely. The vibe was super chill (as usual). The staff was very nice. And my friends enjoyed every single amenity that the spa offers. After being a while in the hot water they felt like cooling off so they jumped in the cold plunge. What a perfect get away, minutes from the city. Sun water spa has done a fantastic job of giving you the feeling of being on vacation without having to head to the mountains, despite being in the city they still accomplish relaxing views and minimal city noise. My group loved the additions of having a cold plunge and sauna available- and two hours was the perfect amount of time in the water! This is such an accessible way to get the hot springs/ spa experience for anyone. I recommend bringing your own snacks, water, and sunscreen if you're prone to burning. We booked a tub a couple of months ahead of our girls weekend in Colorado Springs. We had an easy check in and made use of the lounge and showers/changing areas before we were taken to our tub. Our tub was the most secluded but we could se the rest of the spa from our spot. Being a 10-11:30 timeframe, it was sunny and gorgeous and we wished we had thought to bring our sunglasses! We soaked for a bit, then went to the first floor for the cold plunge and the other pools followed by a relaxing swing in the hammock chairs. We repeated this cycle twice and didn't feel rushed. The staff was great and everything was pretty dang magical. We didn't book any massages or extra fancy stuff, but our experience was so good I almost talked my girls into going again the next day. The massage service was ABSOLUTELY amazing!! I had booked a soak and massage for me and my really good friend of over two decades and it did not disappoint. The soak was absolutely fantastic with a beautiful view of pikes Peak behind us. We were in there for 90 minutes and it was really nice. But the icing on the cake was the couple massage for both me and my friend. We had the two masseuse, Michael and Alix, and they both really showed us such incredible service. My friend had never really gotten a massage before and she is a little sensitive to touch from other people so Alix make sure to keep communication and talk to her through the entire time. Michael kept asking me if the pressure was right and when I would point out where it really felt great, he would stay and focus on that area for a bit. After the massage was over, I asked my friend what she thought, and she said it was an absolutely fantastic experience, I didn't expect her to like it that much so this was all good. My only complaint that I have is the absolute crazy noise of the restoration that they're doing. Thank goodness you can't hear it in the private soaks and the massages but in the main lobby area, it's ridiculously annoying. We try to be in the hot tubs in the general area, but it was so incredibly annoying all the jackhammers and stuff. I hope they finish up with this restoration soon. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful visit overall--this spa offers some truly unique services that I'd recommend trying at least once. I received the Healing Waters treatment from a very talented massage therapist, and we enjoyed it so much that I immediately booked another massage for the following day. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication about whether my partner could join me in the pools afterward. I was told over the phone that, although soaking is included with treatment, my partner could purchase a $20 day pass to join me in the first-floor pools. However, when we arrived, the front desk staff informed us that such a pass has never been available. They explained that the person who answers the phones works remotely and wasn't present that day. I asked if they could make an exception given the information we were given, and while they did explore options, their tone felt transactional short and put out--like trying to return something at Target--rather than warm or accommodating. Some additional training on how to create a soothing, welcoming tone at check-in would make a big difference in setting the stage for a relaxing experience. That awkward exchange really impacted my ability to relax, and I no longer felt comfortable proceeding with my treatment. When I asked to cancel, I was told about the 24-hour cancellation policy. Thankfully, the manager stepped in and graciously made an exception. Her energy was warm and calming, and I truly appreciated that. Despite the hiccup, I do plan to return. The services are excellent, and the therapists are gifted. I just hope the front desk experience better matches the spa's otherwise serene atmosphere next time. read more

Until one of my Colorado Springs friends recommended this place to me recently, I had no clue such a place existed. I'm kind of a self-declared "all over the place " person but apparently I had to admit that I don't know everything (lol!) Well, Manitou Springs/Colorado Springs has things to brag about that the Denver Metro cannot offer: the close proximity mountain views and access, the incline, cog rail, artsy downtown to name a few. And this one of a kind unique spa should be included in the list. Per my friend, COVID changed the way it operates a little bit. Now you have to reserve a tub for a 90-min soak (at the price of $40.) This may not be super cheap but once reserved, you won't have to share the tub with any other strangers so you'll have it to yourself. For that reason, if you go alone, you'll have a quiet moment of uninterrupted soak for 90-min. The water (in all tubs) is set at 104 degrees during winter months (including early October when this review was written.) During the summer months, it's set at 99 degrees. There are two saltwater pools (upstairs and downstairs.) Shower rooms are plenty and all of them are equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body soap. I used the body soap which has some grapefruit scent. It smelled so good (you can also buy it at the reception desk.) I'm thinking of bringing my daughter for her 22nd bday next month. So yes, if you want to buy someone a nice experience then this might be a great place for it. There are great hot springs in Colorado but many of them are far in the mountains (at least several hours of driving) so if you are looking for something close in the city, you should come to SunWater Spa because the kind of healing you'll get by the water in the tub is pretty much the same as the healing you'll get in the natural hot springs (in my opinion.) I'm pretty sure they put chlorine in it but I really didn't smell much of it. I know they don't dump the water after each use but we were lucky enough to get this tub with clean water. read more

Vibe here is pretty chill and relaxing. Keep in mind most of the tubs are next to other tubs so no privacy, not a big deal if your social, we made friends with the other people. My friends and I booked a hot tub soak on a Thursday evening. The spa was easy to find. They offer regular spa services but they also have approx 8 hot tubs that can be reserved for a 1.5 hour soak. We book a hot tub that overlooked the mountains. It was a snowy December day, so the views were incredible! The hot tubs can comfortably fit 4 people, max. The staff were great and the space itself was cozy. The only reason I knocked off a star is because there are only two restrooms, instead of locker rooms. If you want to change or use the bathroom before or after your soak, you have a wait a while because of the limited changing spaces/bathrooms. Other than than, we had a great experience at Sunwater Spa overall. Make sure to bring your own towel and water bottle if you do a hot tub soak. read more

Came here on a cold day and it was very relaxing to soak in the mineral tub! We did the yoga class first, it was nice to get some movement in before the soak. Then check in was very easy - we had the Raspberry Mountain tub and it had a great view of the mountains. We even saw some deer across the park! The tub gets HOT so we went to the cooling pool downstairs. Not as cold as I thought, but it's ok. We also used the sauna which was nice. The only drawback was that the showers are small and only a few of them, so with everyone's session ending at the same time, we had to end up waiting a while before being able to change. What an awesome relaxation spot! I went here for the first time last summer and again this past week. The first time I went, we had the Sheep Mountain tub. In the summer heat, you definitely have to be dedicated to stick it out because that one does not have a sun cover . This last week we were at Eagle Mountain. The temps that day were a lot colder that day than we expected when I originally booked. The staff kept the cover on the tub until we got there to keep it hot and even offered to move us to a different tub when the tub temp dropped a little.
