Still annoying. I got lucky and found a lot with one space left, but $20 for parking definitely deserves a mention because paying for parking is always a little painful. Even getting there an hour early, it was already extremely crowded. I was very glad I brought lawn chairs, a blanket, and snacks because while they do have food trucks, the food options felt pretty limited for the amount of people there. By the time I got settled, I was pretty far from the actual music. I could hear it just fine, but actually seeing the performers was another story. The vibe Now that part was absolutely worth it. Being outside on a summer night, listening to great music, surrounded by families, couples, friends, and beautifully dressed people just enjoying themselves... it really was such a vibe. Some people had full picnic setups with blankets, tables, food, wine, charcuterie, the whole thing. It was so cute seeing couples posted up, having their little summer night. And me? I was perfectly happy people-watching because I love an art crowd anyway, and adding jazz culture to it just made it even better. The style, the energy, the atmosphere... just a really lovely way to spend a night. Final thoughts If you go, come prepared. Bring chairs, bring snacks, and definitely expect a crowd. It may not be the best setup if your goal is actually seeing the performers up close, but if you're there for the music, the people, and the overall experience, it's absolutely worth it. First time definitely won't be my last. Such a good summer night.

A friend invited me to CineVita for Teen Beat Live and I honestly had no idea what I was getting…read moremyself into. We parked in PS3 garage just around the corner from CineVita. There's a lot of development still happening in the area so the area around CineVita looked kind of rough but there was a dirt path lined with some trees to get to the venue which literally faces SoFi Stadium. I can't imagine how congested it would be if you had tickets to a show and there was also something going on a SoFi. Picnic area/bar/food stations were outside the venue. Concession stand and bar was also inside the venue. The queuing to get scanned in didn't make sense to me and felt like it took way longer than it should and it was not even that busy yet. They have mobile ordering at the table so I ordered a slice of Pepperoni pizza. I've seen comments saying the food isn't good, but it's more or less the same quality food at a movie theater or at the stadium. It was expensive and fine for what it was, but I fully expected that. One thing I'll say is the wine selection was pretty good and so was the liquor selection. Clearly they could tell that the audience attending CineVita was not your typical sporting event beer drinking crowd. Show was supposed to start at 7:30pm supposedly but didn't really start until 8pm. There was a quick intro speech highlighting the venue itself which is a Spiegel tent. Thought it was a pretty well made temporary structure. Seating for the shared tables was very crammed. So much that even the servers had trouble passing by which seemed not great in case of an emergency. Given the larger size of Americans, don't think these small tables should have more than 4 max at a table for the most optimal experience. There were 8 of us crammed at my table and it was a pretty uncomfortable experience. Fortunately I was in an aisle so was able to spill over into the aisle a bit, but I felt bad for the couple that was at the front of our table and on the other side who was wedged between people from two other tables. Nobody wants to be that close to each other! Performances for Teen Beat Live definitely were nostalgic for me as someone born in the 80s. Lots of great classic 80s songs were performed throughout the show and seeing this is LA, the performers were excellent! I definitely was dancing in my seat the entire time! Restroom facilities are a fancy porta potty that are very tight inside. Knowing the venue was a portable tent, I thought they had the nicest quality of porta potties at least. Overall a great experience. I hope they take guest feedback about seating and the overall flow getting into the venue into account and work out the kinks as I definitely think the concept itself has potential.

The singers and dancers did an incredible job and deserved the standing ovation they received. The theme itself was fun but I think they can do more with a story. It felt very Vegas or cruise ship, instead of clever and quirky LA immersive plays. Drinks and food are pretty pricy but they sell off the pizzas for $10 at the end of the evening (which I appreciate).

The community of dancers here is composed of the most good-natured and considerate people. They span all dance levels and any advanced dancer is willing to dance with a beginner. The crowd is older, I'd say 50's and up and the dress is casual to dressy. Every seat in the house is good to great and the acoustics are perfect. My compa was playing trumpet for the band playing that night so we got in free but they charge around 40 bucks for a ticket. Worth it in my opinion. There may be a drink or entree minimum, but we were never pressured about it. We only had drinks and a pretzel so I can't speak for the food, but the service was quick and friendly. Drinks are on the expensive side, but it's Hollywood. The highlight might be 8 dollar parking in a garage in Hollywood. Unheard of. Even 20 years ago when I went to Hollywood more parking was at least 20 bucks. Btw, you would never find this place unless you were looking for it. It's on a small side street and only the garage is visible from the street. The entrance itself is on the first floor of an office building from a courtyard behind the garage. I would definitely return. If you enjoy live Jazz or just live music in general you should check it out.

I made it clear we're only coming for drinks and maybe dessert. It's now close to 9pm and still waiting like idiots for the show to start. Should have know better, right? Watching the other patrons shovel what looks like trash into their mouths is heartbreaking. They say the doors open at 7 for an 8:30 show. You definitely do not need to get here until 8:30 or probably even 9. You probably won't want to eat here, but, the drinks are pretty good. The food is probably better with music and no lights. Our server, Frank, is pleasant. People who actually value their time can show up at 9pm. 1 star for good service. 1 star for good drinks. 1 star for good music.

I'll review them separately. Brown Betties: When was the last time you saw an amazing burlesque show?? If you haven't seen the Brown Betties, you are in for a TREAT!! The writing, acting, singing, and dancing were spectacular! I loved the show because their talent held the audience's attention while capturing many of the experiences men and women have in relationships, and giving fair attention to both. My friend and I left raving about the show, and telling our friends not to miss out when they have another chance to attend! My only advice is that I would get the dinner/seat reservations in advance if they are available...the food was excellent, and the show is even more enjoyable with a seat!! I would definitely attend again in the future, and hope new shows are offered. These incredibly talented women provide entertainment with a twist in all the right places! BYOB (Be Your Own Betty): The Brown Betties hosted a wonderful private party for my birthday a few days after their show. Having seen their moves on stage, I knew I would not be disappointed! However, my expectations were exceeded! They were professional, reaching out to me before the event to answer questions, help with advertising, and asked for my preferences regarding refreshments (which were amazing!!). On the day of the event, they came early to set everything up, and did a beautiful job transforming our space. The women were very gracious, and my friends quickly felt comfortable with them. They did a spectacular job of leading us through exercises that had a profound impact on how we viewed ourselves as women--my friends are still talking about this experience to this day! They also taught us routines and moves that helped us find our "Inner Betties". Finally, they had a few tricks up their sleeves to make sure we would never forget this day, and that the lessons we learned would help make us better women to ourselves. At the end, I felt that the entire experience was entertaining and personally valuable...reflecting lessons and experiences I wanted to share with my friends...I didn't have to do any of the heavy lifting for my party, and was able to truly enjoy it as a guest! I recommend the BYOB experience for a special birthday, ladies night, bachelorette party, or whatever you have in mind. Gather your friends, then call Brown Betties...these women have it covered!!!

I also had the pleasure of seeing their full show, Harlem's Night and would recommend it to all my friends (adults only ;-)). I'd definitely book them for special events and parties as well!
