I was impressed for a Super 8. This is the first time I stayed on this side of town, which isn't very far from my regular side of town. It's just on the other side of the river. If you have a raft, it's not very far at all. I liked the snacks and drinks in the lobby, the cleanliness of the lobby and rooms, the bed, the value, and the spider hanging out in the top corner of the shower (eats other bugs). The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because only one of the two front desk people I saw did a good job. The other one sat way back in his chair at the corner of the desk and stared at a screen. I could tell I was interrupting him. When I asked him questions, he replied very curtly. This happened was twice. Sorry to bother you, bro! The late shift manager was cooler. Overall, recommended.

Nice room at a fair price. Clean and in a good location. Comfy bed...but breakfast consisted of a measly brown bag containing an oatmeal bar, mini fruit cup and a 6 oz water. We understand why a regular breakfast wasn't served (COVID-19) but c'mon. It was more like a snack for a 5 year old than an adult breakfast. Edit: After a stay at another Wyndham motel during the pandemic, I dropped the score from 3 stars to 2. A delicious, variety continental breakfast was served. No excuse for the horrible bag breakfast in Cherokee.

Overnight trip for a little fun. The hotel public areas are…read morebeautifully decorated to match the mountainous and woodsy surroundings. My King view room was in the mountain tower. The room was clean, nice shower and bathroom layout with a separate water closet. Bed was comfortable but bigger pillows would have made it perfect. The casino is large with an enclosed smoking room if you like to indulge. Nice variety of slots even the newer Buffalo Cash and Journey to the PlanetMoolah are not on offer. The casino waitress/waiters were in short supply but there is a self service drink dispenser and a couple of bars. There are a variety of places to eat but the only meal we enjoyed was at Noodles. No luck this time around, but I'm sure we will visit to try again.

The hotel staff I encountered from the front desk to the valet exuded the feeling that I was there to serve them not vice versa. I asked for housekeeping to clean bathroom and let fresh towels and the front desk clerk told me to phone them from my room. I returned to my room (which was 700 steps away) and picked up the receiver on the 1980's style desk phone and punched the housekeeping button. I remained tethered to that 24" cord (no base speaker) for 30' and was then disconnected. I went back down and talked to a very nice young lady at the valet desk. She listened and then went to get me a housekeeping manager. Five minutes later the manager arrived and after hearing my requests, advised that the phone does not connect the dialer to housekeeping...it just rings and rings until it times out. This is not how I managed my business over my 50 year career. Now...the rest of the grounds including the casino were WONDERFUL and a treat to be there. We loved it. Just unfortunate for the one item described above. If you are going there, and, you need Housekeeping, ask to talk to them while standing at the front desk. Remember to tell them your needs and for how many days you want these needs to be addressed. You must not assume.

I was provided a welcome bag with a water, Doritos and a Hershey bar. So that was nice. The AC in the hallways were working this visit and the AC in the room was working. So I am glad those issues were fixed. The hotel seemed much different than my prior stay. A problem still not addressed is with the outlets as there was not anywhere to plug in my laptop at the desk. The only outlets I could find were in the bathroom and on the bedstand. I did find a power strip behind the desk later but those were all being used. The tv turned on by itself at 2:52am and woke me up. So if I ever stay here again, I will unplug the tv before going to sleep. Breakfast was mostly good but some of the items like the fruit compote, seemed rancid. After one bite I decided it wasn't worth getting sick. The items weren't stored properly or replaced with fresh from the day before. I was happy to move on. If someone hadn't set the timer on the tv to turn on in the middle of the night, this would have been a great stay. So I would return here again but unplug the tv the next time.

It was also conveniently located across from the casino, so we could get late night food, as we arrived late in the evening. They also had a great spread for breakfast, which was included in our cost. There was also a small gym, which allowed me to squeeze in a quick run in the morning. The staff were incredibly kind as well. We would definitely come back for stop through to the Smokies.

You also get free breakfast, quiet rooms, and a seasonal pool. If I were really searching for any negatives, booking this place is somewhat of a gamble because they don't do refunds. That's based on my experiences anyway. But you will get incredible value! The only other negative is that you have to take the scenic route around the river one way or the other to get to the property. If it's late at night anf you're a female, you might want to walk with a friend or ask security to escort you. I have never heard of any problems like that in Cherokee. This is probably because the tribe wants people coming back. If you interfere, it ain't gonna be good! This is their land. I highly recommend you respect it. The clink on an Indian reservation is probably one of the last places you want to be. We went off the reservation on the review though, didn't we? My bad! This is an awesome place to stay. Not my #1 in the area but my top three due to convenience and the ability to walk to the hotel (I drink red wine sometimes). I will be staying here for one night very soon. Looking forward to it. And I will not tell you my #1 property in the area. I want to keep that secret to myself. But this place is pretty awesome!

It looks like one of those older motels where all rooms are ground level and you park right outside your door. The main office is very small with a window to talk to the clerk. We had made reservations over the phone and everything was in order. We got our key and parked right outside our room door. The room is a bit small but better described as cozy rather than cramped. Walking in you find the bed and a small sitting area with the bathroom at the rear of the room. Everything was in good working order and smelled fresh. This was everything we wanted in a room and nothing we did not need. It was also very quiet, and you could sit out in front of your room if you wanted to enjoy the cooler evening. We did not try the breakfast as we had planned to meet at a local restaurant, but the omelets certainly looked good. We absolutely would stay here again when in the area, and next time we will try their breakfast.
