I stayed here for one night in Denver at this Super 8. There was one major reason why this stay stood out to me. I booked a hotel room through Hotels.com and the hotel did not receive my reservation. I had a confirmed reservation from Hotels.com, but the hotel didn't I thought I was all set to go but when I arrived here on a Thursday afternoon, ready to check in, they told me that I did not have a reservation by then I was in full panic mode and asked him again why was there not a reservation because I made a reservation already through Hotels.com. After searching again, the trucks inform me that there was no reservation and he advised me to call Hotels.com to sort everything out. I ended up going on the app and chatted with a Hotels.com person and eventually they talk to the hotel and they fixed it, and I was allowed a room with what I wanted, which was a room king size bed. This was the first time that happened to me and it was quite unnerving to hear that I did not have a reservation but I knew I had one. Truth be told that it was good that it was resolved within 20 minutes although I could have use that 20 minutes around The room while watching TV, that's another story. That said, I was here for one night at the end of September 2023. I booked this room at Hotels.com, because I have loyalty points there and they had a swimming pool. I did not use the swimming pool at this location because it was, not ready. Subway is known for its budget, friendly combinations and a nice branding that one and everyone can come to. Rates are normally between $79 and $129 per night depending on location. I found that this hotel was genuinely pretty good without that dramas had at check-in. Needless to say that, while I am still with Hotels.com loyalty program, I will not be staying at this hotel for a future stays, at least not for a while. The situation is annoying but it's the first time that I can remember happening with my hotel reservations. Super 8 is a good hotel brand but it happens to the best of us. The rest of the hotel experience was nice, and the room was pretty comfortable and clean while being esthetically pleasing and appealing. The bed was comfortable in itself and had a decent night sleep on a king sized bed. Everything was working in the room as it should be. The overall experience here at this Super 8 hotel in the Stapleton district of Denver, Colorado was decidedly different than what it should be, but after the check in drama, it was okay thereafter. This Super 8 is basically a no frills hotel with the basic amenities that gives you a comfortable, clean, and basic room to rest your head. There is no elevator but stairs to get access to the 2nd floor. It's almost like a refurbished apartment complex that made a transition into a small hotel. The common areas of the hotel including the lobby is clean. There's an outlet to charge your device while waiting for your Uber or friend to come get you. As far as breakfast goes, Super 8 has a continental breakfast, but doesn't have much. Basic cereal, bread, and juice / coffee. Really dislike these kind of set ups, but it is what it is. Maybe I should consider better hotel brands with hot breakfast that also includes cereal instead of just cereal. And so, Super 8 is decent enough to call home away from home. Prices are on the cheap end but you do get what you pay for. If you are in the area and looking for a cheaper place to rest your head for business or pleasure, consider this Super 8 in Denver, Colorado. Close to the airport. This Super 8 hotel is located in Denver, Colorado. They do not have an airport shuttle, which kind of sucks. It's physically located at 1234 Main Street in the Stapleton district of Denver. There is a Chik-fil-a restaurant across the street as well as a 7-Eleven convenience store in walking distance. Super 8 accepts major credit cards, like many in the industry. Many bookings occur online to third-party websites and directly to the hotel. As far as parking goes, there is limited, but plenty of parking for guests. If you love public transportation, consider the metro Denver bus routes that apply to you to get here to this Super 8 hotel in Stapleton. For the most part though, I wish that the reservation dramas didn't happen but it did. Hopefully it won't happen again. It is what it is. Still, a good night's rest in a comfortable and safe environment is why I am giving this place a 4* review. While the reservation thing could have been really preventable, it was a good stay. Just an annoying 15-20 minutes to get it all straightened out during check in. 4.0 stars for the overall experience, post check in fiasco. 4.0 stars for the service and his patience. 3.0 stars for the prices but 5.0 stars for the location. Stay anywhere else! I'm no stranger to budget hotels/motels, I could care less about luxury and fancy amenities but WOW. By far the worst I've ever been to. Everything was filthy, visible dirt and mess all over the floors, makes me wonder if the floors have been swept or cleaned at all. The floor was broken and sinking in, soft spots all over. The bathroom ceiling was cheap drop ceiling totally water damaged and looked like it was rotting. I don't scare easily and am familiar with the kind of crowd at these places, but I felt very unsafe walking to my car. read more

I have to say the staff was nice and friendly but honestly that was the only nice thing about this place. When we got there they added a $60 per person fee. Someone that wasn't brought up until we got there. We got to our room and saw how gross it was. Broken coffee pot. The didn't clean the room and it for sure showed. The bathroom. Was gross. Shower had brown streaks in it. The didn't change the empty toilet paper roll. They didn't change the empty bottle of hotel body wash. No shower curtain. The beds were dirty and had dirt and sand it in. And the floors where very very gross. Just from walking around barefoot for a day my feet ever covered it dirt and pet hair. We didn't have a pet. It was gross when we left the first thing we did was take a shower, just from staying in this place. Noisy all night Extremely old & worn fabrics in room which made it feel unclean. TV remote didn't always work. They say "you get what you pay for" but this was MUCH worse than what we payed for. Spent around $100 and I have stayed at other motel 6 and super 8 type places and this WAS THE WORST. I've stayed in $30 places better than this. As soon as we get there everything smells like cigarette smoke, no comforter, just a thin blanket, and no hot water. Then we started seeing cockroaches in the bathroom! Only got a video of a small one, but there were others. Then because it was dark we didn't see it until morning, but there was period blood on the sheets that we slept on all night. HUMAN BLOOD. When we asked for %50 off or a full refund, they came and saw the blood and showed them the videos and they were only willing to offer %10 off and then after a while finally %20. The pictures your hotel has posted are blatantly misleading. They show a clean, modern, well-maintained facility. In reality, what we walked into was a run-down, unsafe property that felt more like a condemned building than a hotel. Immediately upon arrival, we felt unsafe. Prostitutes were coming and going freely, walking around in thongs and high heels, in full view of guests. There are signs on the windows stating "Must Be Fully Dressed," so it's clear the hotel is fully aware of the problem -- yet it continues. This is not just unprofessional, it creates a deeply uncomfortable and unsafe environment for paying guests. Despite advertising the property as non-smoking, the overwhelming stench of smoke and weed permeated the entire hotel, including our room. This wasn't a faint smell -- it was embedded in the furniture, hallways, and HVAC system. We also found: Cockroaches in the room. An inch of dust along the baseboards and under the bed. Burn holes in the sheets and chair. A bathroom ceiling that appeared to be caving in, and a floor that felt weak and unsafe to walk on. Only five towels were given for a full week's stay, with no follow-up from staff despite requests. Loud pool parties every night until 4 a.m. -- right next to our room. There was no staff intervention, no enforcement of quiet hours, and no security presence whatsoever. Neighborhood individuals (who were clearly not guests) helping themselves to the complimentary breakfast, leaving little to nothing for paying guests. Terrible parking, which made it difficult to come and go safely. Filthy overall conditions, including disgusting blinds, neglected maintenance, and evidence of long-term neglect. We did not request a room change because it was obvious that this was not a one-room issue -- the entire facility was in poor condition. This super 8 was terrible. From the get go the experience was atrocious. The Indian guy at the front desk was rude. We asked to get additional towels and pillows and he said "you should already have them in the room". I let him know we needed pillows and he said "come back at 9am" that when house keeping can help you. The whole time he was on his personal phone having a separate conversation via Bluetooth. His inability to get anything done was as shocking as our room. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere. We literally walked into our rooms which reeked of smoke and walked out. Now, this porcelain throne isn't just for any soul and person of heart & mind, this palace is a space specifically for people who they can handle spicy food and convinced themselves in their 1999 Honda Civic that no pepper, heat, or dark matter would destroy their insides. So this place has probably seen submissions from the human body that science has yet discovered. I must admit unholy things have taken place here. Moving along to the furniture. When you set a gaze upon the area you are to rest your bones, the seat cushion that someone was kind enough to trace the country of Australia with their mud butt. Yes, sweat ass and hey, they might given you poop mixed in so of course. Finally, parking. Now you can pick from a select spaces where you can be lucky enough to find someone hanging out in their car or even better, someone sleeping in the backseat with their windows down! I booked a room here for 2 nights while I went to Denver for a personal matter because of the location & the price was decent. I stayed there for only one night and checked out early the next morning and asked for the $60 deposit fee back that they charge you at check-in. The room is dark/dank, barely any lighting. My tub got clogged when I tried to take a shower, there was a huge stain on my bathroom door with a terrible paint job. I was in a non-smoking room and my bed sheets had multiple cigarette burn holes. Spiderwebs in corners of the room and a couple of moths got into my room somehow and my window was completely shut. Walls were dirty & stained as well as the lamp shades. The room's telephone didn't work. I didn't bother using the fridge or microwave. I stayed on the second floor far away from the front desk and I heard doors slamming all night, I went solo and didn't really feel safe to come out of my room until morning. If I were you don't make the mistake of booking here to save some money and just get a better hotel room somewhere else for a few more dollars. read more

Staying at this hotel was an experience! Right next to the Chick-fil-A (I am vegan - ha). Etta was very nice and allowed me to have access to my room early. She was very kind to my chihuahua; put me in a room that was close to an exit. My room was clean, had everything I needed, perfect for me and a dog. This hotel seems to attract some marijuana users, maybe drug dealers. I was a bit worried about my car in the parking lot and there were some people acting "high" in this hotel. The old Stapleton area is no longer an airport, but all the old airport-related businesses are still around. Super 8 qualifies, especially on the "old" part. I don't see how you avoid this. Once you move past all of those things, it's a hotel. One light didn't work, the others did. I slept very well except for the train - which is gonna affect every hotel near the tracks, and this one is a block farther than the others so it's that much quieter. It has a usable pool that I see guests using. I mean, it's not big, but it's a pool, and not everything at this price point has a pool. Did I mention price point? For this area, downright cheap. Things Super 8 is NOT: Nasty. Filthy. Buggy. Luxe. Things Super 8 is: Dated. "Can't you smell that smell." Decently equipped. I'm not giving one star just because of that! Or even two stars. When I was in the process of leaving the room about 11:15 am and a hotel employee said I had to leave immediately or I would be charged. In my rush to leave, I left an expensive bicycle pump in the room. About 3pm, I checked with the front desk and housekeeping (still cleaning the room) and they rudely said they found NO pump. During the 5 night stay, I had to demand housekeeping and that only occurred once. The halls were always in need of vacuuming and it was very difficult to get the room entry card to work. read more

I cannot describe how disgusting this hotel was. On hotels.com it had decent reviews, and I used to live by the Stapleton area, I figured this hotel wouldn't be so bad, but I was horribly wrong. The minute I walked in I was appalled. The pictures on the website DO NOT accurately represent the hotel. The carpet was littered with stains, and as a nurse I couldn't help but wonder what they were. The bed looked sketchy, so I pulled off the cover because I knew it hadn't been washed. I checked for bed bugs because I felt the sight warranted it, but did not find any. I still left my suitcase on top of the table. I had to wipe down every surface with a hospital grade disinfectant because it was apparent it hadn't been cleaned. The shower was so disgusting I put a towel on the stained floor so I wouldn't have to touch it. For what I paid, this place was a total ripoff. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else. read more

Motel 8 Stapleton is an urban motel. Many of the previous reviewers clearly live a predominantly sterile existence. Checking in was fine. My room was cleanish but not sterile. It's easy enough to wipe stuff down. The prices are low for being so close to the city. If you go into a situation with reasonable expectations, in most cases, one will have them met. The decor is late 90's, there is a giant image of a Rocky Mountain over the bed. This is a, nice(?), touch. Standard micro, working fridge, 30" TV with basic cable, plenty of outlets. It is clearly 420-friendly, assumably within the confines of a smoking room. In other Colorado Super 8s, this reviewer had been proffered a contract stating that establishment's lack of tolerance for any marijuana consumption on the premises.There was no mention of marijuana here, the second floor did have a detectable odour of burning cannabis. SAFETY: Were I to rate Super 8 Stapleton with regards to safety I would give a 1/2 star. The parking lot is not well lit. None of the back/side doors lock at night. There was a detectable odour of cannabis in the region of the smoking rooms. If I were paranoid, easily offend-able, or had children I may consider another hotel. The complex resides on the very cusp of gentrified Denver. Here, there is ample room for digression and projection into this aspect of the modern American experience. Stapleton will one day soon be another portion of the metro-Denver complex. When it is, it will be plush and prolly kinda awful. McMansions, wasteful golf-courses for white people, suburbia. I doubt that this place will exist in 10 years...so I did, I digressed), The breakfast was the same as other Super 8's. The staff is busy, but helpful. If you park in the lot just outside the office and remain confident, this is a totally reasonable spot to stay. Do make a reservation. Tell someone where you're at too. I thought this place looked OK at first glance. When I went to check in I saw the bedbug comments and immediately pulled the sheets up but I did NOT see any bedbugs. But still. It's reasonably clean but this hotel is falling apart. There were huge chunks of the wall and ceiling missing in the bathroom. There are signs all over saying there's a $100 charge for smoking in non-smoking rooms, but the whole hallway smells like cigarettes (the rooms smell fine). I stashed all my food and ice packs in the fridge freezer, but didn't notice until hours later that the fridge wasn't plugged in. More to the point, the heater didn't work. The first night, my husband was already asleep when I discovered this; it was just blowing cold air into the room. The next night he went and complained to the desk and they sent someone to look at it, but looking was obviously all he was capable of doing. My husband clearly knew way more about heater repair than this guy. Eventually they gave us another room. The first night there was also a screaming kid in the hall for like TWO HOURS. I went out to see about the noise and get another blanket because I was freezing. It turned out the front desk already knew about the screaming kid; the guy was arguing with the kid's father, loudly. They were just screaming at each other for quite some time. It was a real mess. I decided not to get involved and just tried to get a blanket, which they didn't have. They brought us one the next day. And that kid was screaming in the hall for another hour. Towels in the bathroom: tiny and thin. Hot water is good. Wifi is adequate to stream video. Stay here with the knowledge that it's definitely a budget hotel in a very expensive city. read more

Maybe I had my expectations set a little high because the last Super 8 I stayed in was really nice, but I really don't see how this place is still in business. Our non smoking room reeked of cigarettes and we even found a few shoved in our heater. There were hairs all over the shower....dark, curly hairs and I could tell from the hard water build up that it hadn't been cleaned in a while. I tried putting some things in the dresser and the front piece of wood fell onto my feet, it wasn't even attached. Not to mention the free breakfast is a joke..... The staff was friendly at night when we checked in, but in the morning when I let the desk attendant know how crusty our room was he responded with "oh I'm sorry, it must've been a bedroom you know people live here sometimes and maybe they smoked in the room." I just politely mentioned that it could use a good cleaning before another guest gets stuck with it, and left so I can go pay for another hotel where I can actually take a clean shower....wish I could leave 0 stars. read more

Let me start by saying my boyfriend and I are usually traveling for Phish shows and therefore don't have crazy high expectations as we spend so little time in the hotel. All we really expect is clean and safe. This has been the first time I have really been unsatisfied with our cheap accommodations. At first glance the room was big and appeared to be clean so we figured things were fine. Well, when we got home my boyfriend got these weird red bumps all over his arm and other areas of his body. We later determined it was actually bed bugs. I honestly never took "bed bug" comments seriously in reviews cause they are usually along with rants and general scathing (i.e. BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!) that make me question the validity of the actually review.... anyways, I now see this crap actually happens. Also, there was a bunch of little kids (I think families were actually living in this hotel) running around and I'm pretty sure they were removing all the "do not disturb" signs because every night we were sure to put it in our door and every morning housekeeping woke us up. Overall, the hotel itself was pretty sketch. Last year we stayed at the Best Western just next door and that was pretty cool (awesome pool party). We ended up walking over there to hangout at that pool again since things were so sketchy at the super 8. I couldn't help but check my car to ensure I still had all windows intact each time we returned to the hotel. Do not stay here (definitely do not stay here if you are a family with kids!). We stayed for four nights when we came to Denver for the International dog agility show where my bitches competed. They offered no pet fee and 10% discount so it was only $50/night with no pet fee, but I think their normal rate is $55- $60/night and $10/ pet/night which makes it very expensive. Their room is big. We had lots of room to roam and roll/romp around. It also had a large couch so often my bitches and I napped on it. The walls are really thin so we had to wake up super early when people walked around laughing like crazy. Breakfast bar...it really is just continental breakfast with only cereal, bread, waffle and drinks. No eggs or bacon like some other motels offer under same "continental breakfast." Laundry machine was broken, and when we were here the ceiling was leaking so it was raining inside the laundry room. Ice machine and the toaster were also broken while we stayed here. The room had a fridge and a microwave, and the motel is within walking distance to a gigantic mall. My parents got some food from Walmart in that nearby mall and ate in the room with us, so that was cool. read more

In the $30- $60 hotel range, we have usually been able to find great accommodations. When we got to this hotel, which we had pre-booked on Expedia, we found no shortage of unsavory characters. Obvious drug dealers standing outside of our building, lots of permanent residents, thin walls with screaming children and loud TVs on the other side and a poorly lit parking lot all warned us away when we checked in. I did not feel safe AT ALL. We decided to forfeit our money and leave. The manager was very nice and understanding. No! Just No. I was surprised this place didn't have a hourly charge. Let's get into it. Check in was nice. But was a little sketchy by the front windows being covered up with cardboard and tape. The pictures of this that are on the website and everything else are way outdated. First thing noticeable was the signs everywhere that said "no visitors". I thought that would be a good thing. Obviously not enforced. So after checking in I find they do not have a elevator, when your caring luggage and work supplies up stairs I guess it substitutes for a gym? There was garbage all over the floor and vending are was dirty. I checked in at 3pm but you could tell the dust and garbage had been there quite awhile. So I make my way to my room. Heavy smell of marijuana in the air. Not an issue most of the time but when you request a non smoking room...... yeah. Opened the door and it smelled like someone just smoke a joint in the room. The room was good sized but way outdated and poorly painted and maintained. Looking around I noticed the smoke alarm was missing, there was a hole in the wall, the little kitchen area was filthy. Went to take a nap and their was burn marks in the sheets. Took a nap tried to take a shower but couldn't get the water to turn on. Well at this point I was already late to a meeting so I left. When I came back I called and asked about the fire alarm the guys said if they leave them in the rooms they go off from marijuana smoke. I didn't know what to say. Had the displeasure of stay 3 night. Housekeeping did not changed the burned sheets even when requested. Their was burn marks on the bathtub and the bathroom was disgusting. Finally got the water to turn on for a shower by putting my feet on the wall and pulling as hard as I could. Heater didn't work and blasted out hot air at top speed and full heat even when set to 68. Now this was the good part of the experience. The walls are so thin you can hear everything going on. The second night I came back to a thick layer of marijuana smoke in the hallway. And yes it comes right through the not sealed door. My room smelled horribly bad. Bad enough that the next day I got to participate in a drug test at work the. Told not to wear that cologne Again because I smelled so bad of weed. Good thing I passed. The third night which was a Thursday was the worst. I should be refunded especially for the last night. There fight I heard on this third night was way worse then the fight over the stripper the night before. You could hear people being thrown around and yelling over paying a prostitute. Then someone started yelling "put away that gun" and "call the cops". People were running down the stairs and kicking open the door. Screaming in the parking lot. I watch them get into cars and speed out. I went to complain and ended up talking to the police. Guy didn't seem to really care I was inconvenienced. Later that night people were up screaming again. Went to complain and the hall was full of smoke. The next morning the people that had the fight left at the same time I did. Along with the girl they paid to stay a full night. Couldn't believe they let them stay. This motel is worth $20 a night. Wyndham should get their name off of it. read more

It just absolutely stinks in the whole place and will it kill them to run the AC a little

I'm not even sure this hotel deserves 1 star rating. I'm writing this review after a one night stay (that is meant to be a 3 night stay) I will be moving hotels once my husband wakes up. When you first pull into the hotel you think oh ok, so it's not horrible but it's not the best (don't judge a book by its cover) we go inside and pay and have been welcomed with the most unkindly person i have ever met in my life. I would seriously bet someone $1,000.00 that he doesn't smile... ever. Soon we pay we get our keys all is well and good. Nope we need to find parking. Now thank God I borrowed my dads Mr. mcgee little rekidink car that can fit almost anywhere because other i wise I would be parking at a fast food joint and walking. We walk into the hallway of rooms to be greeted with that Colorado smell of "greens" we enter our room and my Nose is going off like a Million Miles an hour... but one smell I can't figure out what it is... this smell reminded me of when I did Home help care. Couldn't figure it out... until I got closer to the source of the smell.:: it was pee. Grown adult urine. Mind you while this is happening I just got out of a car packed full of adults and driving for 7/8'hours and it is almost 2am. So I'm tired. I look over at my husband and he's in the same boat as me as let's just sleep and figure it out. Well I slept... some... between the train in the back of our room going, hearing everyone walking up and down the hallway. Being able to hear the ice maker go on all night long. Im packed. I'm waiting for my husband tO be ready and we will possibly loose most of the money we spent if not all on this hotel and I will pay as much as I have to, to make sure this never happens again. Going cheap is all fun and games until cheap is just too cheap. Doing you all a solid. Do not come here. read more

This place is decent and affordable. I stayed here when I was visiting the university and needed a one night stay that was in my budget. I liked how the hotel was next door to a Denny's and a food plaza that included Chinese food, pho, a milk tea place and some Mexican food. They also offer som breakfast in the morning that was unremarkable though I did appreciate that they had breakfast at all. read more

I tried to write this review on Hotels.com whom I got the booking through. We stayed there 4 nights in September and it was one of the worst experiences in a hotel we have had for many reasons. But let me list just a couple major issues. After the first night there my husband had some bites on his hand which were in a vertical line so we were thinking bed bugs. We lifted up the mattress and found a smoke detector with a crack pipe next to it. Thankfully, there were no bed bugs though. First red flag. Took it to the front desk and they seemed to be more interested in a found smoke detector than the crack pipe. Our last night there, when we got back to the hotel, there was yellow tape surrounding the hotel and lots of police vehicles. Found out there had been an active shooter at the hotel. So we could not get into our room for 2 more hours. 2nd red flag. One more unusual thing about this hotel. When you check in you have to pay a separate deposit. I have had to do that to hold the booking but we had already paid in full. You have to go to the front desk with the deposit receipt to get it refunded when you check out. So I did that. The front desk person made me wait while she went to the room to check it out. Never have I experienced that but is another indicator about the type of clients they are used to renting their rooms out. 3rd red flag. The rooms are cheap but I felt unsafe the entire time we were there. Take heed and find another place to stay. read more
