The plastic broke off the top of the handle.

The first night of our 2-night stay was just awful, the worst! The (non-smoking) room smelled of cigarettes and the A/C like mold. The bathroom like mold and cat-urine. The lamps by the beds were broken. When I tried the wash my hands the handle on the faucet came apart in my hands. The smoke alarm falling out of the wall. But the attendant was nice though and really tried to help --changed light bulbs and troubleshooting the lamp, until we determined it was just broken, and tried to find glue to temporarily fix the sink. She finally offered another room but it was so late we stayed put. The next day the manager put us in a new room and must have made sure it was clean and all was working. But I couldn't help but overhear in other guests in the hallway frustrated, complaining to the management: one of them about a broken AC unit, and the other one about a broken TV. So the people working there are nice but the place is very badly maintained.

Cigarette burns in our nonsmoking room

So if you're just looking for a place to lay your head because there's nowhere else to go...... keep going to another town or sleep in your car, save the 100 bucks. I'm not even sure this place is a hotel. It's more like an apartment building, bunch of people hanging around outside drinking in the parking lot playing loud Mexican music. Cars parked taking up two spots and some of them don't look like they even run. The room is acceptable, sheets are clean and we didn't find or see any bugs. The beds aren't bad and pillows are super soft. You get a decent size fridge and microwave. Our room did smell like straight cigarette smoke even though it says it's no smoking. Clearly people smoke in here there are marks on the sink and toilet where people have set their cigarettes and it burned it. There are also cigarette holes/burns in the comforter, could of been in a different room. Our room was super hot when we got here but thankfully our AC cooled it down quick once we turned it on. There's a stick in the window holding it shut because apparently the lock is broke and it looks like some one tried to bust the screen out. Decor is out dated if you care about that. The pool is broke as of right now they claim to have the part but have some story of why it's not being fixed. Breakfast is awful!! You can make toast and that's it, the bread just sits in a container in the counter for days, you can make waffles or have Frosted Flakes or raisin brand. For drinks there is coffee and sunny D which sits in a bowl of ice to keep the bottle cold. The food area stinks like an outhouse! Staff is really nice so two stars in this review one for the staff and one for the decent bed. Oh they do except dogs 10 dollars a night per dog so that's part of a star too since we are traveling with our fur babies.

    Mattress stain

Would give zero stars if we could. Staying at this Super 8 while traveling for work with a group. Upon check-in at 3pm we were told not all our rooms were ready yet. The lobby area and main hallways reeked of cigarette smoke and felt musty. Of the rooms that were ready, one had HUGE red/black stains on each of the mattresses and was also freezing cold [pictured]. We were told that room hadn't been occupied for months, and yet still had trash in it. They did switch us to another room after that. Another room had a pillowcase with red stains that looked like blood splatter, top blankets with burn holes in them, and one fitted sheet with big yellow stains on it; as well as a chair in the corner with nasty white stains all over it [pictured]. Sheets and pillowcase were replaced when we complained, we were told that there "was a brawl last night with like 10 guys that got out of control" and that they "were finding blood splatter." 2 of our rooms smelled like cigarette smoke. One room the key card had to be used multiple times to get a green access light and we were told by housekeeping "that's just the way they are, it takes us 6-8 times to get into the rooms too." There was also splatter of some sort on the walls outside two of our rooms [pictured]. Tub in one room had mildew, toilet was rusty, and there was an earwig in the toilet bowl. We didn't use the pool, but the water looked murky. If you can stay anywhere else, do so. We wish we had somewhere else we could stay in the immediate area.

When I first saw this experience on someone's Instagram page, I was instantly intrigued. My husband…read moreand I decided to try the Hillsboro location, and were really excited to be some of the first people who experienced the new Treasure Island suite. The location isn't hard to find, but remember you're looking for a house, not a traditional hotel. Check-in was a breeze and from the moment you enter the suite, you are plunged into what I can only describe as a romantic escape room. I don't want to give away too many things, because half of the fun is discovering all that your suite has to offer. However, I will say that you will not be disappointed if you love mysteries and grew up on choose your own adventure books and Scooby Doo. In addition to all of the fun things, the room has to offer, details have been meticulously, thought of, from plush robes to snacks. You never really have to leave the room if you don't want to. We did decide to take a break about halfway through to enjoy a restaurant in the area, which was another bit of nostalgia, because I had not seen a Ponderosa buffet since I was a kid. Two things to note to make your stay better. First, take advantage of the full-time you have the room. This is one place that you want to arrive as soon as check-in is available at 5PM and check out at the very last minute 11AM so you can really enjoy everything. Next, even if you are really moving quickly the experience takes 3 to 4 hours, so be prepared for that. You can definitely move at your own pace, but just know there's a lot to uncover. Overall, this place is a gem. I would absolutely return and try a different adventure, but honestly Treasure Island was so much fun I would do it again.

Amazing experience. We will be back several times to try all of the different rooms. We were quite…read moreimpressed with the roo. As soon as we walked in. There was music playing and it was uniquely decorated, like we were stepping into a whole different world. The clues were more difficult than we expected which was great! Behind each hidden door is a new experience. This is better than any escape room you've ever done. While the house is shared with other couples each suite is completely private. When entering our room it felt like we were the only ones in the whole place. The only reason we knew other people were there is because we saw cars out front and could hear people talking from the shared staircase. Book a room. You will not be disappointed.
