55 years old and this is most definitely the worst room I have ever stayed in. Extremely dirty! I have several pictures of how unclean and unsanitary this place is. Sheets and pillowcases were dirty and did not appear to be washed. There were stains on the linens and even requested new linens they had stained as well. Also appeared to be prostitution outside of the Hotel. Please do not stay at this hotel. An extra few dollars to go elsewhere. We also killed a couple of bugs during our stay. Spoke with Motel employee to try and get a refund so we can go to a different hotel but they said it was my problem and I should've looked at the room before I purchased. Good: price, felt safe, lobby floors and windows shone spotlessly. New floor in our bedroom, very clean. Bad: It may well have been "Wyndham" or Super 8 policy, but when we requested 2 new "kitchen towels", which in reality were baby bath towels, we were told we needed to bring the dirty ones to them first. I have never heard of that before and we have travelled a lot during our retirement. We typically stay in nicer places but I wanted to use my "Time share"/RCI points. That's another story. Neither front desk clerks were congenial at all. But perhaps they had had a long day. read more

This was the nastiest hotel I have ever been in. We checked in and left within the hour. There were spider webs, dirty walls, the sink bowl was cracked and we found bugs in between the sheets of the bed. The manager would just say they weren't bed bugs. It doesn't matter what kind of bugs they were, they were in the bed. My husband was shown a second room and when the pillows and sheets were moved, with the owner(or GM) present there were bugs in that bed also. Again he says they are not bed bugs, REALLY! That being said I must say that the man who checked us in was so so nice, I was willing to try and stay there until I found the bug in the bed. He wasn't the one that kept telling me they weren't bed bugs. read more

DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER OPTION! I will give -1000 rate for this hotel this is pretty bad! The only reason my family and I stay here tonight is for rest for a few hours and go back in the road. After drive for more than 8 hours we got this place because was the only place available, now I know why! The pictures will speak for it self. The bathroom is gross. Thankfully I'm moving and I have cleaning supplies in my truck, so I had to clean before any of my family member use the restroom and shower. I went to ask for another bathroom mat and the manager in charge offered me another one dry but full of mold. He did not apologized and wasn't even ashamed of the conditions. Ive been staying at this motel for the last 3 days and the housekeeping people have not replaced any of the linen in my room. They have not cleaned in any way shape or form either. They also have a washer/dryer in the downstairs hallway for customers to use but the dryer doesn't dry and I ended up having to take my wet clothes to the laundromat due to their lack of maintence on the machine. On top of that it's expensive and they didn't give my money back. The manager can barely speak English and is a complete dick as well. I was helping my friend with a locked up brake caliper so he and his gf could safely get home and he walked out telling me he was going to call the cops and had given me absolutely zero notice that I couldn't do that here. I will not be staying at this hotel ever again and this is the worst stay I have ever had in my entire life. Maybe they should think about closing the doors because they don't know how to do their jobs or have regular courtesy/manners. This is no way to do business and I would rather stay at the trap motel Olivia Inn than at Super 8 on Old Spanish Trail. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE OR GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY BUSINESS!!! This location could be good but the owners DO NOT make any effort in making their property attractive, clean or welcoming. They charge full price even when the phone is not working, the mold, scratches, holes in walls and holes in lampshade is blatantly visible. The toilet paper dispenser was even broken and they are so cheap they will not replace it. The door to room is covered in large scraps and dings and looks like the entry way to a drug Dealors room. I arrived late about 1:30am, tired and worn out. I was offered to leave for a full refund, as they were sold out. The rest of Slidell was sold out in all the town due to a weekend event so I stayed one night, I did not take a shower as I was afraid to catch something. I slept on top of the covers as the sheets had stains and I didn't know if there were bed bugs. The next morning I asked for a discount of any kind. The manager yelled, swore, shouted profanities angrily and called the police, but would not discuss my concerns logically with any care or consideration for my experience. He yelled that he did not care if I wrote a negative review about his property...so here it is!!! I will never stay at a Super 8 again. Not in this town...!!! read more

Well, we just pulled in. Here on business in NO, stopped here to avoid trucks in the city until morning. So far, everyone on staff is very nice, knowledgeable and friendly. The room is non-smoking, very cool (it's hot out, so this is good), and pretty clean to the naked eye..... Until you get to the back of the bathroom door. They have some serious cleaning to do in this room. The wall behind the door has got some sort of something nasty on it on the lower third of the wall area. Also, in the shower, we found three (in different places on the shower wall) long hairs. Neither of us has long hair. At breakfast, my roommate decided to get some apple juice. When dispensing the juice, it spit something out that wasn't "apple", and he decided to go to Waffle House. Sounds like keeping the place clean isn't the first priority. Terrible.-rm109 My husband booked this room based on the location and price. Well you definitely get what you pay for in this instance. Besides the fact that is is in need of some cosmetic repairs there was - Cobwebs above one of the beds, a cricket in the A/C that chirped all night(kids slept through it), we had trouble with the key lock on our door, hair dryer didn't work, and you had to hold the handle down on the toilet until you saw the water go down. Told the manager about these issues and his response was "yeah I don't know why that side of the building keeps having these things happen." So why put people there when you have empty rooms on the other side. Luckily it was a very short stay. I would have asked for a different room but it was late and kids were asleep. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else. read more

We showed up in the evening after we had made reservations in our car before arrival. The guy behind the counter said our reservation wasn't showing up . We waited about an hour and no reservation ever showed up and we had just paid the internet rate. We asked the guy behind the counter what was the rate to just book a night because we were tired from driving all day. He said $189 but had a handicap rate of $151...... seriously... we just booked on the internet $85. We found a different hotel for the night, then in the morning we would dispute the original booking because we never stayed at the Super 8 Wyndham in Slidell. So here we are in the morning calling to dispute. The property manger said we were never there, we didn't show and was lying because we needed the money. What..... ok buddy it's game on now. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The customer Service is HORRIBLE! Don't insult your customers like that! I would never recommend this location EVER! If you end up at this property, don't do it!! read more

Super 8 Slidell, LA Rm 117 + Room is clean, with tile flooring. + Three lamps have USB chargers (2/lamp) and an AC plug for your laptop. + TV is flat screen but not true HD + Door has no bolt on it. + There is no internet that is usable; slow and unresponsive to all requests. + Bathroom has "cracks" in floor junctions with walls + Terry cloth (towels, wash clothes) are few and the cheapest available. Overall, I give this a C rating. It's biggest down vote is the unusable Internet service. Bring your own tethering if you expect to be on the Internet. read more

My brother and I stayed at this motel for 3 nights during Mardi Gras 2020. The price was too high at $160/ night including taxes. I usually pay less than $95 at Super8s. But the hotel is good. The room was better than expected. It was large and had nice furnishings, sturdy and attractive chairs, nice huge pictures on the walls. It had microwave, refrigerator and in-room coffee. The free breakfast was average. The breakfast room was not large but it was pleasant, bright and adequate. A helpful staffer was keeping things clean and supplied in the breakfast room. The hotel lobby looks pretty good. The outdoor pool looks nice and clean but we did not use it. The hotel is adjacent to a Waffle House restaurant and a gas station/convenience store. Other nice stores are within an easy walk. My biggest complaint about this motel is the housekeeping staff. A female housekeeping staffer who could barely speak English approached us at 8:45am and asked if we were leaving the room, so she could clean the room. We said we were leaving an hour later and asked her to come back later, but she said no, we needed to vacate the room now, and let her clean it, or we would not get our room serviced. We chose not to get the room serviced. It was a bad experience, especially since we could hardly understand what the person was saying to us. I travel frequently and this has not happened before. If the housekeeping staff had treated us better, and if the price of the hotel was a bit lower, I would give this place a 5 stars rating. read more

Super 8 is Super cheap and a good safe place to sleep. They did have a small continental breakfast that was a little above par. Needless to say I only gave it three stars because all Super 8 are basically the same but I will be back. read more

Stayed here for a weekend. Rooms have been updated and look nice. But the beds aren't very soft and the walls are thin. Had party animals next to me the whole time I was there . Would get a second floor room at the back. Also there were various bugs in the bathroom. They weren't bed bugs though. read more

Beds were good and the room was very clean. We had issues with bed lamps not working, remote not working, and the phone alarm started ringing at 4:20 and would not stop. The irony was if you play Pokemon Go we woke up with a virtual crab in the room. read more

Super 8 motels frequently get a bum rap! I like to stay at them when I am on road trips because I have mobility issues and prefer exterior corridors so that I can park my car where it is easily accessible and I don't have to tote bags inside a lobby and up an elevator. Super 8 is my choice because they are inexpensive and usually located right off of the interstate. Most are a little dated and need some sprucing up but I find them clean and with comfortable beds. I have stayed at this Slidell Super 8 before but this time I was pleasantly surprised. It is obvious that it was recently updated inside and out. The exterior was freshly painted and my room was wonderful... also freshly painted with nice artwork, matching bedspreads and curtains, great beds and a very clean vinyl floor. You could tell all exterior and interior doors had been recently replaced. When we walked in, the room smelled clean and the temperature was cool on a very hot day. There was a cold refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. The A/C was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 nights. I saw maintenance people cleaning outside each day and housekeeping was amazing. We didn't try the breakfast so I can't comment on that. The only minor complaint was that the water pressure in the shower was not that great but everything else was wonderful. It is in a safe location right off of I-10 and conveniently shares a parking lot with a Waffle House. Based upon this experience I would highly recommend this motel to anyone needing low cost accommodations in the Slidell/New Orleans area. read more
