Very nice staff, although they weren't able to redeem my free night because they were new and weren't sure how, or even how to add this stay to my rewards account. Comforters were new because Quality Inn just bought it from Comfort Inn. I slept great on the beds, but my dad (who had another room) thought the beds were uncomfortable. Pool area looked good (I didn't use it). I will say the coffee was TERRIBLE. Worst coffee of any hotel I've stayed at, and that's saying something. They offered a nice hot breakfast though. After this experience this will be my last time staying at the Madelia Hotel. So I was coming up this past week to get together with friends and had an extremely bad experience at the Madelia Hotel. From the front door being locked when I arrived to check-in, to no lock in the side security door at all, to the filthy tub in the bathroom and the icing on the cake...discovered bugs in the bed on my last night. I stayed two nights and the last night I was there I slept in a chair. . Also note that they attempted to charge $30/night more for their ADA accessible room during the booking process. I filed a complaint with the health department on the issues noted here. If you experience issues call the Madelia Fire Chief. Do not stay here.

The amount of bites that caused pain, itching, and swelling was unbelievable and disgusting! We reached out to both Hilton corporate and to the hotel franchise owner and received zero response after sending them both emails with pictures and making multiple phone calls. We are Hilton Honors Gold members and due to the lack of response, care and compassion regarding this matter, we will no longer give Hilton our business. Do not patronize this business/hotel. It is not an upstanding, clean business. Take your business elsewhere where they actually care about their customers.
