The first floor rooms are about 6 steps down from the lobby though there is a ramp to get to these rooms. The second floor rooms are up a flight of about 12 steps and the third floor rooms are up two flights of about 12 steps each. First floor rooms are the only ones that are wheelchair/walker/stroller accessible. Also, finding the hotel can be a little tough as there are no signs on the building itself - only the one tall sign in the front corner of the parking lot that is nowhere near the building. GPS routed us to come in from behind the hotel so it was a guess as to if it were the correct hotel. It is a former Super 8 and they never put any signs or new name on the building. The lobby has a very tired couch and a table, with a small computer desk and a computer. Even the brochure rack was nearly empty. The front desk is low but it means that the front desk computers are on strangely homemade platforms and boxes to allow the front desk staff to use them. What would have been nice looks very cheap. The room I had was 2 full beds. These are full not queen. The beds are worn and the pillows are super soft and lumpy. The mos uncomfortable night 's sleep at a hotel that I have had.But the air conditioner worked well and the room was quiet and clean. There was a mini-fridge, a microwave, a mini-coffee maker, a hair dryer, a small flat screen TV, a desk and a short dresser. The bathroom had 3 sets of towels, When the maid restocked towels, it looked like she restocked with all bath towels and only after digging through the whole pile did we find hand towels and wash cloths on the bottom of the pile. By now you have probably guessed that the decor was severely dated. The bathrooms were dim and you could see old damage through the new paint. The "breakfast" was actually one of the worst of the free continental breakfasts that I have seen and there were only 3 small tables with mismatched banquet chairs. We used these tables to play at in the evening since there was no extra space in our room. The staff was great about it!

Rooms looks like they were renovated, and feel inviting with new appliances and furniture. Rooms where also clean. The beds in the other hand, feel a bit on the firmer side. Pillows could be better, but overall. Having the convenience of a garage "attached" and away from the elements. I'll take it any day. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that it was a bit confusing to find my room. Needed to ask the front desk, plus they did not have a remote to open the garage. So I needed to get off my car and open it from inside of my room. Just a small thing. Other then that, nice room and staff. Will stay here again.

Since there are not a lot of hotels in the area, we broaden our search to find a good hotel at a good price. Location - Redwood Lodge is right off the main highway running through Redwood Falls. You are close to everything the town has to offer and right across the street from a gas station and Walmart. Rooms & Building - The rooms look like they were just recently remodeled. There were a few rooms that still were under construction. The remodeled rooms were cozy and comfortable. They included a fridge and microwave. Amenities - This hotel doesn't offer a pool, but they do have a neat relaxation room that includes a hot tub and sauna. My kids had fun watching cartoons on the TV and sitting in the hot tub. They also have free coffee and cookies (delicious brownie cookies) available. In the morning, a free breakfast is provided. Food - The breakfast buffet had a lot of options to pick from and was one of the better breakfast buffets we have had in quite some time. They offered the standards such as waffles, cereal, eggs, fruit, toasting items, etc. but also offered breakfast sandwiches and biscuits and gravy. You did not leave hungry! Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. The hotel lobby was very welcoming and smelled like cinnamon and apples. The vintage farmhouse décor matched the town's vibe and made for a very pleasant stay. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - I paid about $135 a night. Great bang for your buck, especially when you included the free breakfast, coffee, and cookies. Great hospitality at a great price. Redwood Lodge is definitely one of the better places to stay in the immediate area, even without a pool. We would stay again.

Westbrook is a small town, very quiet and clean. We chose it because it is only 15 minutes from Laura Ingalls Wildr attractions in Walnut Grove. To our delight, discovered Parkview is actually in view of a park. Right across the street is a ball park, pool ($2 per person), wonderful playground, and pretty veterans memorial garden. No dogs allowed in the park, however; dog owners did not do a good job of picking up. In town there is a museum, only open Sunday afternoons. Grocery store and drug store and home store. The price was great. It sounds like weekends can be busy for Parkview, so book early. No web reservations; contact Donna through the Facebook page or by phone. Don't expect luxury, but do expect comfort and a friendly host. Looking forward to the farm breakfast this morning.
