Our stay at Angel's Nest Bed and Breakfast in Weatherford was supposed to be a special weekend away, but unfortunately, it became one of the most uncomfortable and concerning lodging experiences we have ever had. My husband is meticulous when it comes to planning surprises. He loves taking care of every detail, and he had reserved a room at Angel's Nest along with an additional package for our weekend. Friday morning, the owner contacted him to let him know that we were being upgraded to another room and assured him that the package he purchased would be moved to the upgraded room and everything would be ready for our arrival that evening. We were provided a code to enter the bed and breakfast as well as a code for our room. After having dinner in Weatherford, we arrived that evening. The exterior of the property is beautiful, and initially we were excited about our stay. When we reached our assigned room, however, the keypad would not light up and the door was locked. After several attempts, we called the owner. She gave us the location of a hidden key and instructed us to use it to enter the room. When we opened the door, another couple was already occupying our room. They had unpacked their belongings, eaten most of the chocolate-covered strawberries that were part of our package, opened and drank our champagne, and were in the private hot tub engaged in intimate activity. We immediately closed and locked the door and reported what had happened while still on the phone with the owner. What happened next was even more concerning. We were instructed to go down the hallway to Room 2 because we were told no one was staying there and that we could use that room instead. We followed those instructions, opened the door, and walked in on another couple in bed. At this point, we had now been given access to two occupied guest rooms. We later learned that these guests apparently had canceled reservations and were no longer supposed to have access to these rooms. That raised an even larger concern for us: How were people who were no longer assigned to these rooms still able to access and occupy them? More importantly, if we stayed, what assurance did we have that someone else could not be given access to our room and walk in on us? This became a serious privacy, safety, and security concern, not simply an inconvenience or a reservation mix-up. What was also extremely disappointing was how the situation was handled afterward. The owner never came downstairs while we were there to personally address what was happening, determine why unauthorized guests were occupying two rooms, or provide us with reassurance regarding the security of the property. After taking some time to process everything that had happened, we made the decision to leave. We simply did not feel safe or comfortable staying there. We also felt dismissed rather than genuinely accommodated. My husband had carefully planned this weekend, and that very morning had been personally contacted about our upgraded room. We arrived expecting the room and package that had been promised to us. Instead, we walked in and watched another couple consuming the chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne that he had purchased for us while occupying the private hot tub we had been looking forward to enjoying. We were then directed to another room, only to walk in on another couple in bed. Beyond the disappointment of losing what was supposed to be a special experience, the lack of apparent safety and security protocols was deeply troubling. Our concern is not simply that someone was accidentally placed in the wrong room. Two separate rooms that we were specifically instructed to enter were already occupied. That should never happen at any lodging establishment. Guests deserve to know that when they close and lock their bedroom door, another guest will not be provided a code, key, or instruction that allows them to enter. Unfortunately, we left feeling that more concern was shown toward the individuals occupying rooms they were reportedly no longer authorized to use than toward us--the paying guests who had actually reserved the accommodations. As first-time guests, we expected hospitality, communication, accountability, and most importantly, a reasonable level of privacy and security. Instead, what was supposed to be a thoughtfully planned weekend ended before it ever began. The property itself is beautiful, but based on our experience, significant improvements need to be made regarding room access, canceled reservations, guest privacy, security procedures, and how serious incidents are handled. read more

After being charged once she offered a refund then the second time when I added I couldn't stay she said she can't refund my card due to policy. The reservation was $700 for two nights. Came here for a little getaway and while overall everything went well, ie room was clean, bed was good, little to no interruptions (they deliver whatever you need with a knock then dissapear like Casper). The reason for the 3 starting is due to the bathroom tub being dirty which was a main reason for getting this room. Ended up having to take a "shower/ bath" with the handheld piece. Also a lot of paint was chipping in the bathroom and the tv cords seemed to be very exposed unsafely. The breakfast was delicious though, recommend the quiche and the freshly squeezed orange juice was perfect addition. The good thing was soon as i brought up my he dirty bathroom they came in when we went to dinner to clean it. read more

Angel's Nest is a nice old home but I'm struggling to give it a good review. I called and made arrangements for my wife/2kids for 4 days over the 4th of July. I was kind of surprised at Candace's request that I pay cash due to a rise in her credit card fees. When We arrived, I hadn't had an opportunity to pick up cash so I suggested a check since she had my credit card as a back up. She still preferred cash so the next day I stopped by an atm and got her cash. My spidey senses were tingling. What we saw of the house was nice but there was really nothing inviting us outside of the room. Breakfast was okay and delivered to our room but I think I'd of preferred breakfast served in the dining room. The bathroom was funky. It consisted of a small (slow flushing) toilet and an enormous 2 person hot tub which would've taken a long time to fill with the water pressure we never used it. The pedestal sink was right out in the bedroom (there was no exhaust fan). For what we got, I thought the charges were excessive at $179/night for the 2 weekend nights and $149/night for the 2 weeknights. That said, I figured my cash payment that I might relieved me of the taxes. Not so. I asked for a detailed receipt and what I got was the receipt pictured. It may not be fair to suggest but as a cash customer, I have to wonder if the $154 in taxes are going to be reported. There really was no wow about our stay. Candace was nice to my family but I was too distracted by the business end of our stay to really enjoy my stay. Read the other reviews good and bad. Ok so this will be one of the strangest reviews I have ever had to write. We had reservations. Called the night before and gave credit card number. While on the phone "Candace" asked if I could pay cash for the room because it is cheaper for credit card processing. We arrived the following day, rang the doorbell and walked around the corner to the door that someone will meet us to let us in. The lady that met us introduced herself as "Julie". She states that the cash payment is upfront and they don't put a hold on credit card. Apparently they have never done that. We had an issue with that and Julie says that Candice will be down talk to us. She handed me a piece of paper to fill out my name, address, and car make model - typical for a hotel or b&b. There was a signature line also. At the bottom of the paper, there was the customary not being held responsible for anything stolen for your car. Again all normal. Last line states, THERE ARE NO REFUNDS GIVEN FOR ANY REASON. A few moments later, a lady named " Tracy" comes down the staircase. We spoke with her and she confirmed that they take cash upfront and credit card is only for incidentals or damages. The name "Tracy" triggered us because another review stated this same name but they found out it was really Candice. We ended up leaving and not staying because of how strange this whole setup felt. That evening we did a little research and noticed that Angel's Nest is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)3 religious organization. That feels very odd for a Bed and Breakfast offering rooms at $200/night and preferring cash payment over use of a credit card. We didn't have a problem paying with cash but it is customary to pay upon checkout rather than paying upfront. That is what a credit card hold is for. The reason for our hesitation were the previous reviews where cash was paid upfront and the guests had a leak they soaked their bed. I intended on having a nice weekend with my wife to celebrate our anniversary so leaving to find something more fitting and less drama-laden for $200 seemed appropriate. This house has a lot of potential. It could use some cleaning. It is a bit dusty on the inside, outside could use some paint or at least a external house cleaner, but otherwise LOOKS like a nice venue. The only offsetting part about this place is the owner. If you are up for a challenge, love strange drama, have a degree in psychology, or maybe are writing a paper on abnormal psychology then maybe this place is for you. We certainly did not feel the historical significance was worth the potential headaches. On a happy note, we ended up going to Shep's in downtown Weatherford. While we were there, we called several B&Bs and found a lovely B&B in Granbury and happened upon a wine festival happening that we had no idea was going on. I am writing this review as a previous employee. I was hired as a housekeeper. I was very excited to work here as I love old Victorian homes. The first day I worked, I went up to room 10 to clean and the current "maintenance man" was in the bathroom when I got up there. When he left I went in to clean the bathroom and there was a hypodermic needle on the floor in front of the toilet. I had just been up there about an hour before this and it was not there then and the room was not being rented. I told Candace and she asked me to please bring it to her. On my second day I got there at 8AM only to learn that the basement was flooded with water up to our ankles. No big deal, Candace asked if I would go upstairs to wake up the "maintenance man" (he was living there full time) and when I did he proceeded to scream at me and call me every dirty word in the book and then told me to F@#$ OFF. I made sure to never interact with him ever again after that. Candace then proceeded to tell me and the other housekeeper to go down into the flooded basement and DO LAUNDRY! I told her no, I was not going to do that because we would get electrocuted and die. She was not happy with us and I had to tell the manager and the manager had to tell her, "No Candace, they can't do laundry right now. The basement has to be completely dry before they can" She then tasked us with switching out the bedding in the rooms from summer colors to winter colors. This task involved myself and the other housekeeper going up into the attic and bringing down all bedding. It was stored up there as the basement floods and it was safer up there. The attic is an absolute death trap! There are huge portions of the floor that are gone, exposed wiring, inches and inches of what I can only hope and assume was dust and we had to be very careful to not take a wrong step and fall through the floor. Now lets talk about the kitchen...They have pallets of jars of jelly down in the basement that are many years expired that they use to serve the guests for breakfast service. When the guests don't eat all the jelly that is served to them in the ramakins Candace makes us scoop the uneaten jelly (that has been used) back into the main jelly jar as to not waste product. If you get get caught scraping it into the garbage (like I did) she will yell at you. The dish washer is broken so they store the plastic dish drain racks inside and when you open the dishwasher door there are roaches all over the floor of the dishwasher that scatter. So they proceed to use the dish drain racks that have been exposed to roaches crawling all over them, to drain the clean dishes on the counter. The huge restaurant grade oven is broken so they use 2 electric toaster ovens in the kitchen and one in Candaces room to bake anything that needs to be cooked in an "oven". This all happened in 1 week. I was very clear with them that I had another job before they hired me and they said that was fine. I gave them my schedule for the entire next month and they said I was untruthful with them about my availability and they were unable to work around it. This was all over text, I never got a thank you from either Candace or Belinda the manager for all the work that I did for them and Candace never said a word to me when I left. Turns out they have a banner at the bottom of their driveway that is advertising for a "HOUSEKEEPER FOR HIRE" job that they literally never take down because she goes through a new housekeeper almost every week. When I started the other housekeeper had been there for almost 3 months and she said I was the 7th housekeeper she has had to train. It is really unfortunate that this is how they treat their employees. She has a wonderful thing there but she is running it into the ground. read more

This gorgeous bed and breakfast is like stepping into a time machine! It is very elegant as you walk through the first level with all of its antiques and beautiful architecture! Room 10 has a large comfortable bed with panoramic windows looking out to the skyline of Downtown Weatherford and beyond to the twinkling lights of Fort Worth in the distance. As you walk upstairs in room 10 you'll find a good sized bathroom with giant oversized jacuzzi tub big enough for two and room to spare with an even higher view of the skyline with identical panoramic windows as the bed area. Breakfast is nothing short of fantastic! This was our third time to stay here and we will be retuning again very soon! read more

Yeah I had a problem with this place the last time I stayed I paid for one night over $200 and did not get my favorite room and so to make sure I got my favorite room on Valentine's Day I had to pay to reserve it so in one night I paid $400 I broke up with the guy and whenever I called to try and get my money back they said they do not do refund but I could still stay in the room at a later date so I chose to stay in the room at a later date and whenever I called to make appointment they claimed that I refused their offer and it pissed me off because nobody in their right mind will Giveaway $200 they cheated me on that and I was very disappointed because I was a loyal customer and really adored that place until they refused to honor their word and basically stole $200 from me I will never stay there again and I will tell everyone that I come in contact with to avoid The angels nest in Weatherford Texas it really upset me because I'm not a hateful person and I did not get ugly with the woman but whenever I feel like I was done wrong I expect to be compensated for it I understand their rules and had no problem with it until she flat out told me that I refused To take advantage of her offer and basically just handed over, over $200 to them for nothing. So my advice is to be very careful with these people because they will try to take advantage and rip you off and I do not like leaving reviews like this because I am in full support of local businesses but when you're done wrong and they Lie to your face and say that I refused to take advantage of staying a night basically saying that I have no interest in staying there and I voluntarily give up $200 to them for nothing well then something needs to be said. It doesn't even deserve one star but I was not allowed to post it unless a star was rated. I loved this place & I am owed 1 nights stay in room 10 & they are too greedy to honor it. My family members wanted a getaway for the weekend and chose to stay at this B&B. They left a credit card number to secure the reservation but told the owner (Candice Dyer) they would be paying cash for their stay. When they arrived, they called Candice to find out what they needed to do to check in and asked for the WiFi password. They received instructions and were told by Candice that she would place an envelope under their room door with the wifi password on it. Candice doesn't stay around all the time and she asked my family to just put the money for their stay into the wifi password envelope and slip it under the kitchen door. My family planned to stay for 3 nights, plus meals, so they placed $1,000 cash into this envelope and slipped it under the kitchen door. The stay was going to be in the $600 range but my family was ok with just settling the bill at the end of their stay. The room appeared nice but was very hot. (My family went and purchased a fan to more comfortably get through the night). The jacuzzi tub (which was a major feature that my family rented the room for) was useless. Breakfast was supposed to be served at 8:30am, but as of 9:30am, no breakfast nor contact regarding the delay. My family decided they wanted to check out early. They reached out to Candice and stated they would like to check out. Candice then told my family, there was no money in the envelope that was put under the kitchen door and they would need to pay $600 (the cost for 3 nights plus meals) despite only staying 16 hours and receiving no food. My family reminded Candice they had put $1,000 in the envelope, both members of my family being witness to the 'transaction' that Candice instructed them to do. Candice stated that she was the only person with a key to the kitchen and that there was no money in that envelope. My family was devastated and began crying while trying to figure out what to do. Candice called the police. Candice disengaged from my family from this point on. My family explained their story to the police, knowing they would have to pay for the stay again. The police were going to attempt to search Candice and the area for the cash that my family had left. Many hours had passed by then so my family knew it was hopeless. They paid an additional $600 and went on their way. Candice is a terrible person and has devastated me and my family. This is such a criminal attack on caring decent people who live everyday doing right by everyone in their path. While I know we will never get this money back, I ask that you never stay here and listen to this warning. The place is called Angel's Nest yet functions more closely to the opposition. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. It's absolutely gorgeous and the food was amazing. The lady who looked after it was so sweet and the owner was too, she even hugged us as we left. Oh! There were two little dogs there which is also fun if you love dogs as much as my fiance and I do! We stayed in room 10 and it was so wonderful. My now fiance had planned it all out and that's actually where we got engaged! Honestly it was such a cheap stay for how wonderful it was- it was way way more worth the price. Very nice building, beautiful and on a hill overlooking the whole town. Huge lot with many places to sit and a fish foundain (koi) . Delicious breakfast Frittata...good coffee maker . It was 100+ that day and after 4 hours our room had not gotten below 84 with the a/c on high. Checked the filter...There was none. it was missing. Dust had blocked 1/3 of the airflow. I dusted it out and the a/c improved to a nice coolness within the hour. Nice that it had a whirlpool tub, but we missed having a shower..... had a nice balcony looking directly over the city. in the dawn was so pretty. The TV though large and new was internet only and twice stopped showing movies we were watching. Guess it was overloaded. There were movies out in the hall bookcase....we could have watched one of those with a player. read more

We just stayed at Angel's Nest and were extremely pleased. The staff was super friendly and the house and atmosphere was clean, cozy and inviting. We were absolutely satisfied with our Groupon purchase. The bed in room 1 was incredibly comfortable and we had the fire lite all night long. We slept with the romantic fireplace all night. It was bliss. The breakfast was SO yummy! We ate every bite of it. I highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast if you want to get away to a nice cozy romantic place. We were very well taken care of and I can't express how importantly the cleanliness was! That's a major factor for us and we weren't let down. Very disappointed in our trip to Angel's Nest in Weatherford tx. This was our second time to stay here. Our first time we noted some things that personally don't fit our preference (louvered closet door to bathroom which is really like having no door at all and where the toilet and huge tub is located, pedestal sink with small mirror but no lighting which is located in the actual bedroom which is carpeted - to us just strange) but that wasn't enough to make us say we would not return. The breakfast that first time was amazing. Staying in a beautiful old house although we saw areas that needed repair (especially outdoor balconies which seemed a bit creaky or leaning) and having access to heat antique shopping was a hit for us. So it's been about 4 years since we stayed the first time and my husband booked 2 nights for my birthday. They took our credit card to hold the room but asked us to pay in cash join arrival. This is new and seemed odd to us. We didn't receive a red receipt but decided we would get that when we checked out - not too concerned. Nice bed and simple room. The TV glitched often which was frustrating. Couldn't use the tub because water pressure was terrible, very slow flushing toilet. So sponge bath it was for the 1 night we stayed. We looked forward to the amazing Breakfast we expected but what we received was a small glass bowl filled with whipped cream, a bowl of under ripe strawberries - 2 were edible, the rest hard and more green than red, a small container of orange juice, 2 Otis spunkmeyer looking muffins, and 1 nature valley granola bar. Sounds petty but that threw me over the edge. Nothing was mentioned that no hot breakfast was available - no choice. For $410 for two nights I expect a little more catering to us as your clients. I expect features that drew us there to work as advertised - the tub. When I called the owner to say we were not staying the second night I did not expect a refund (once we got the dismal breakfast offering I decided to look at reviews and realized the terrible mistake we'd made) the owner did not offer a discount on next visit as she had to my husband when he first made the reservation. We were actually coming back home from an out of state funeral so with that stress we just were not of the mind to negotiate or argue anything. It seems some folks have good experience. We overall did not feel the price we paid delivered enough to make us feel the same. No receipt given. This was our last stay at this establishment. Read all reviews before you book. read more

Angel's Nest is just what the doctor ordered. The history behind the house itself is fascinating....My wife and I needed an extended getaway - needed some R&R....and, we got it. The rooms are beautiful and the staff is exemplary. Candice Dyer was warm and welcoming and even sent us off with a gorgeous floral arrangement...As for the staff, Janice was phenomenal. She prepared breakfasts for us and assisted us with anything we needed....and, the breakfast quiche was delicious! I had made plans to stay here with my girlfriend as a surprise for her 33rd birthday. I rented room 10, which was the best room offered, as it had a large hottub on the top floor, with views of the city, and the bottom floor had a bed with similar views. When we arrived, we wanted to take a bath first. When we came downstairs to sleep, the bed was SOAKED through to the mattress. When we looked up at the ceiling above the bed, we saw the ceiling was leaking. We did not feel safe staying in the room any longer, and I called the owner, a woman named Candice Dyer. When she picked up the phone, she said her name was "Tracy" and that she was the night manager. She acted surprised about the leak, even though I told her that I could clearly see in the ceiling where those same leaking spots had previously been painted over, clearly from this having happened before. "Tracy" asked me to go upstairs and turn the water off to the tub, toilet, and sink. I told her I felt uncomfortable doing that and she snapped, "Oh come on! It's just a couple of valves, anyone could do it! And I'm not having the plumber come out in the middle of the night!" Then she revealed to me that she was, in fact, not "Tracy," but Candace all along. She goes, "I sometimes answer the phone as 'Tracy,' I don't know why, maybe it's because I'm single." I was completely weirded out by the deception. I then asked her about getting a refund back for the room stay. She immediately changed her demeanor and became quite mean and rude over the phone: "Oh come on! I have never dealt with someone who's emailed me so many times before a stay!"--she was referring to me having emailed her a bunch prior to booking the place, which i did since I work nights and could never call when they had business hours. I told her I had no idea what my email frequency had to do with the leak, and told her we wanted to be refunded because we were not happy with the room as it was now unusable, and unsafe. She flat out refused, and condescendingly told me, "What you can do is go across the hall to room 4 and have a comfortable night there." Room 4 was steaming hot and hadn't been prepped for guests, and it was not at all comparable to the room I paid for. Room 4 consisted of a bed and a small balcony--that was it. It was barely step above a standard 2.5 star hotel room. I told Candace that room 4 is not comparable to room 10, as room 10 is touted as the best in the house, and that we would prefer a refund since she could not match us for an equivalent room. She again persisted, "You can either go to room 4 or GO HOME! I am not talking with you anymore about this." She spoke to me like she was chastising a child. It was insulting to say the least. So I told her we would leave. The next day I called up there twice before getting a call back from someone named "Cheree." This person said she was the manager. She told me she usually handles matters like this and would work on getting me a refund. I asked her if Candace is normally like this. Cheree said that she can't go into detail because Candace is her boss but did say that Candace's lack of customer service and poor communication skills had led to repetitive similar issues in the past. Cheree then told me she would call me back the next day by 10am with a resolution. The next day, Cheree never called. I called nearly every 2-3 hours, and left voicemails both on Cheree's phone and the bed and breakfast phone. I heard nothing all day. I then called back today, and after multiple calls, Candace finally answered. She rudely said, "So what, you like, wanting a refund or something?" I again, very calmly and politely explained that we were unhappy with our room stay, which lasted a total of 3 hours, and would like a refund for the room. She immediately cut me off while I was speaking and accused me of being "insulting and dogmatic" and said "I know exactly what you're gonna say and it's not gonna matter because the decision has been made and I'm not giving you anything back!" I told her to please calm down, and that we were customers who paid in advance for something that was not delivered upon, and that our expectations were not met. She then claimed that our expectations WERE met and that the room leaking wasn't her responsibility. I explained that I wasn't trying to place blame, only trying to get a refund because I paid for room 10 and when we got there, it became unsafe and unusable. She said she only had an obligation that night to offer a comparable room at her place or a comparable room elsewhere; she admitted the room 4 was not comparable to room 10 and that no other outside places compare. Logically then, I said, that means we should get refunded. She got angry again and refused; she then offered to give me $50 off another $200 stay. I was blown away. I told her I wouldn't pay another $200 to save 50, and the call ended. This has been THE WORST customer service experience I've ever had. Do NOT stay here. read more

We had a great new night staying here on a quick birthday getaway. Candace was super friendly and check in and out was easy. We loved the room with the big king bed and direct access to the porch. Breakfast was delicious. Wish we could have stayed another night. Price was comparable to any decent hotel chain and it was so much nicer and more comfortable. We go an Uber over to the antebellum ale house and there were no Uber's available when we left so we walked back, which was not bad, about a mile. read more

My husband and i stayed at the Angel's Nest during my friend's wedding. We had such a wonderful time while we were there. Cathy and Ludwig, the owners, were extremely kind and hospitable. The room was extremely clean and cozy (we even had a jacuzzi on our balcony). The property is lovely and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. They offered suggestions on where to have dinner that night (if you're in Weatherford, make sure to visit Boo Ray's for some great cajun food). The breakfast was wonderful...order the puff pancake. It was amazing. We were extremely happy with the stay at Angel's nest and highly suggest it to anyone staying in the town. read more

Candice hosted the most beautiful and perfect wedding for us in 2012. We're coming up on our anniversary and I can't stop thinking about how perfect she and the staff made our day! We were supposed to have the whole thing outside, but when a sudden thunderstorm arrived she didn't bat an eye. They moved all of our table settings back in and set up an indoor ceremony in record time (all the while this bride was panicking!) Some of our big tall veteran guests helped, but Candice was the true commander, organizing everything to the T! I have to mention that one of our 'guests' gave the B&B only 2 stars--the same guest also got plastered and drew obscene pictures in our guestbook, so I wouldn't take too much from that. I happily consider Candice and her amazing staff family! My mom still talks about how beautiful our wedding was! She even got special topiaries for us!! We have stayed there twice since then, both times in the tippy top room. I love Candice, I love the breakfasts, I love her puppies, the books, the decor, the casual atmosphere, everything. Definitely a top-10 romantic getaway for me and the hubs! We can't wait to come back!!!! read more

Stayed here for my nephews graduation. My Sister rented the entire place for all our out of town family. We all loved it! We had plenty of room for our graduation party and game nights for the entire weekend. The staff is great and very helpful.The owner Candice made sure our stay was perfect. Terrible customer service! Lack of communication. I am extremely dissatisfied with this place. They ran an ad on Groupon, and I called them to book a room. They didn't answer the phone for a while. Finally, after four or five tries during different times of the day, a lady picked up the phone. I asked her about the particular weekend and she said all rooms eligible for a Groupon offers are booked, but they have a room for a regular price available that weekend. I planned to have a romantic getaway with my husband to celebrate my birthday. I provided her with my credit card information to book a regular room. Next day, my credit card company called me and said there was an unauthorized access to my account, so they closed that account and issued me a new card. I immediately called Angle's Nest to find out if they had any issues with processing the card. Of course, nobody picked up the phone. I left them a voice message. They called the next day and I couldn't pick up the phone because I was driving. I pulled to the curb and called them back FIVE minutes later. Nobody answered and their voice machine was full. I've been calling them for two days many times a day, and nobody ever answered the phone. The voice mail was always full. Finally, when I dialed their phone seventh or eighth time, a lady said they rented out my room to somebody else. Very disappointing. read more

Overall we had a fairly nice visit at Angel's Nest. We were a little thrown off by a couple of different events during our stay. While we were checking in we were left at a table to fill out our breakfast preference as well as our contact info and then we were shown to our room and given our key and told that if we needed anything we could find "her" in the kitchen if we needed anything and just like that she was gone. Okay that's fine we understand people get busy... But it would have been nice to at least know her name and where the kitchen was. The next morning "she" brought us breakfast and knocked on the door and before I even got a chance to see her she had taken off again saying "Here you go! Enjoy!" Leaving out breakfast still on the tray in the middle of the door way. Once again we just brushed it off because like I said we understand that people get busy. The breakfast was DELIGHTFUL! The puff pancake was amazing. We would have reordered for our second morning but we were ready to go home by our last day there. We spent most of our time exploring Weatherford during the day. There are some of the most AMAZING antique stores in this town! And several to choose from. When were arrived back at Angel's Nest after a day of shopping we noticed another couple being checked in. While passing in the hallways we over heard the host offering to show the other couple the rest of the house as well as the "nicer" rooms that were located on the second floor. We were so confused because we were unsure why we hadn't received the same offer. Of course we could have asked but who wants to feel like a bother when they don't even know their host name? Once again we brushed it off and enjoyed the remainder of our stay. Our room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a large soaking tub with jets (but our jets didn't work). Also when I saw bathroom I mean extension of the room with a curtain for division. With the bath tub that is understandable but no door for the toilet? Just a curtain? That's questionable. The room also had a very large TV with several free on demand options for the movies. When I decided it was probably time to figure out what I needed to do to check out the next day I could not find a single person to help me. I couldn't even find a sign for the kitchen. So I decided to try and call the number we used when booking. No one answered and no one called back even when I left a voice mail. Instead we received a note slipped under the door around 7:30pm with the breakfast menu and check out instructions... And lots of smiley faces. We really did enjoy our trip to Weatherford but we just felt the overall experience at Angel's Nest was very impersonal. read more

A friend purchased a stay here at the Angel's nest under Groupon for us as a gift. We were so excited to get to use it and get away for a weekend without small children in tow. I called to schedule a reservation for June and paid $63.44 for the "occupancy tax". We had an immediate relative who became very ill and placed on hospice during this time so we had to call to cancel and explained we would call back to reschedule when things calmed down and we were able to get away. We spent the next several weeks driving back and forth each weekend to see our dying relative. He just recently passed away and things have somewhat calmed down so that we could finally get away and get out of town. I called the Angel's Nest to see if we could book our reservation again but we were out of the time frame that the promotional value expired which was7-31-2014. I understand that we weren't able to make reservations and keep them during the time frame that was mentioned in the Groupon fine print so I asked if we could just get back the "occupancy tax" fee that I had paid over the phone originally when we booked our room reservation for June. Seeing as how we had not stayed there and weren't going to be able to use the Groupon that was purchased this seemed the least they could do. I was informed that they would NOT refund me and that if I wanted to stay there they would apply this payment towards the cost of the room but that we would have to pay the difference which could be $125/per night for a room PLUS have to pay the occupancy tax again all over!! This is ridiculous!!! I tried to explain to the woman on the phone the situation that we had been in hoping that she could find it in her heart to be kind and either let us still use our reservation or at least refund us the occupancy tax fee and they could keep the money they received from the Groupon but it fell on deaf ears. I would NOT recommend this destination for mere a lack of consideration, a lack of understanding and a complete insensitivity to problems that arise in our lives that are out of our control. The death of a family member is an act of God and cannot be helped. One would hope that a business would be compassionate to these matters and give some leniency. read more

My wife an I loved this place, staff is helpful and kind, breakfast was great. We will definitely return soon.
