Larger duct with insulation. Some water line insulation showing too.

After receiving a letter from PSE telling us that we are using 54% more gas than other homes the same size in our area, we decided to get an inspection and estimate on our crawlspace. Daniel was a wonderful young man who was very thorough in his inspection and provided me many photos of our crawlspace. We had a poorly insulated floor, ducts with failed elbows, and all types of insulation missing or down. Even our vapor barrier was pulled away badly in areas. Diego showed up on the scheduled day with a team of guys who all seemed to know what they were doing. They fixed it all and sealed the seams with a paste type sealant. The last thing that they do is install the new 10 mil vapor barrier. They even installed a door onto the crawlspace opening. Diego must have taken over 400 photos of the work as it progressed. All those photos added to my confidence that I was getting the work done properly.

I was looking to do a replacement of my roof insulation and these guys were very professional and courteous through out the process - Tom was very upfront and straightforward with the costs and when an unexpected event happened during the day of install, he went over and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. 5 stars to him. They provided excellent value for the $ I spent. On the day of the install, Ron and his crew came by and did a great job of removing the old insulation and laying out the new ones. He was also very thoughtful and answered all the questions I had. Rate him 5 stars. As I wanted an attic fan and our roof was metal, the very next day Tony and crew came up and finished putting up the attic fan and I particularly liked how he went above and beyond in the quality of how he put that together. He also made sure to check and fix all the ceiling cans etc. that had moved due to the set up. I again would rate him 5 stars as well. I got all the before and after pictures sent to me by Laurie from their office. She also helped me set up the inspection for 2 weeks after install. Again, a wonderful experience. Would rate 5 stars. Finally today we had the first inspection after the job and Alfredo came in and did a wonderful job sending me pics and vids to make sure everything was working as expected. Again a 5 star rating. Overall, I am very happy with this company and its employees and would rate it 5stars and recommend this place to my family and friends.

Water leaking around the foam in the gap, soaked and frozen into the insulation.

Strongly discourage anyone from working with this company or any company associated with this ownership/management. They do not stand by their work, are extremely defensive about providing any support, and extraordinarily disrespectful. If you want someone to yell at you on the phone, maybe they're right for you? Full story: In April of 2023 the Super Attic team came to my house to insulate my small garage. The project went well enough, the insulation was completed within the day, barring a few minor miscommunications, it was fine and the price was fair. They were to insulate the garage and, specifically, seal some remaining cracks. I specifically requested the project manager to seal the gaps to ensure no air or water got in, and he assured me at the time his guys would take care of it. They also went out of their way to verbally assure me that if we had any issues afterward we should immediately reach out -- big mistake on my part for not getting this in writing. In January 2024, I noticed a leak in one of the stud bays. Specifically, the stud bay with our gas furnace exhaust which produces water vapor. Normally, that leaves the pipe as vapor, but some of it will condensate and drip around the pipe, especially as it gets colder. I expected the gap around the pipe to be sealed given the assurances the project manager gave me at installation time. However, when I removed the insulation, I was surprised to see spray foam instead of sealant in the crack, which is _not_ waterproof. If anything, it acts like a sponge. The water had soaked into the foam, run down the wall between the sheathing and the siding, soaked into the insulation, and then frozen into an ice block (see attached picture). I contacted the team letting them know what I had found and had asked for their help. My email read: "My ask from your team would be to remove the foam, properly seal the gap, and then replace the insulation for this section." After this, I went ahead and fixed the sealant myself, as it was actively leaking and I couldn't wait -- easy enough, it was a tube of caulk from Home Depot and about 5 minutes of work. Dany, who I assume must be the business owner or manager, got back to me 2 days later in an almost comically defensive and hostile way. From the start he made several incorrect assumptions: freely admitted he knew nothing about the project or our home, claimed it was over a year ago, thought I was complaining about a roof leak. He was extremely defensive about his team, he claimed they were not trained or skilled enough to do this kind of work (again, I think he thought this was a roof leak). He said, paraphrasing: "OK, what if we fix this and it fails again in 5 days, who's responsible?" His posture from beginning to end was "This isn't our problem". At this point, I got quite frustrated with his patronizing tone and defensive behavior, and I called him out on it, at which point he decided it was appropriate to get into a verbal argument with me about how I needed to "be more respectful" and that I needed to be nicer to him. I made it very clear on the call that all I was asking for was replacement insulation, at which point he realized it was going to cost him a lot less, and yet he insisted on continuing to demand that I show him respect. I mentioned I'd be leaving a Yelp review about my experience, which put him into overdrive. At this point, I realized there was no chance he was actually going to help, and I told him I wasn't interested in continuing the conversation and I ended the call. I fully expect to get a review response from a Super Attic representative attempting to deny this, but it is the genuine truth. If your project is simple enough maybe they're fine, but god help you if you end up talking to Dany.

The team at Restorion took complete care of us, handling both the mitigation and restoration flawlessly. They also helped us handle the communication with our insurance company, which took a massive weight off our shoulders. They were always polite and on time. They took great care to protect our home and furniture and make sure there is minimal disruption during the process. Jose also personally examined the work at every single stage to ensure the quality, which gave us great peace of mind. What truly set them apart happened at the very end: they noticed a small issue with our showerhead. Even though it wasn't related to the leak, they bought a replacement and installed it for us just to ensure we were left with a fully functional bathroom. Restorion does high-quality work, but more importantly, they are kind, honest people who genuinely care about their customers. We are incredibly grateful for their help.

And it was amazing to see the difference between what an honest company like Restorion sends the insurance company vs a dishonest company, which is what I had to deal with a few years prior. Also very helpful to have the water mitigation people also be the restorer, otherwise so many derails can be lost between the two companies. The restorer won't know what the basement looked like beforehand and that can lead to gaps. Also for dishonest companies I think they use the two separate companies to juice their returns and to do less restoring work.

The mitigation work was left unfinished in several areas, including doors left, concrete shower only half demolished, etc. After paying almost $15,000 the overall quality and follow-through were below expectation. Later on Mr Werner visited for the restoration estimate, but after that, neither him nor Mr Vincent ever followed up or provided the estimate needed to move forward with the insurance claim. Despite repeated emails, we were ignored, delaying our claim process by more than 10 days. Do not assume that companies recommended by assessors are necessarily the best choice. Take the time to research companies carefully before committing and stay away from Pacific Remediation and Restoration.

I spoke with several companies who were unhelpful over the phone or charging ridiculous fees just to come out and provide an estimate. Mathew, the owner of Puget Sound Water Rescue was timely in his responsiveness over the Yelp App (on a Sunday afternoon) and ultimately provided us the perspective and information that we needed to determine whether or not professional remediation services were warranted at this point. Ultimately we determined with his help that they were not. Despite the fact that we did not end up hiring (anyone), his knowledge, honesty, and helpfulness were 5 stars worthy. So, when my portable AC leaked onto my flooring last night, I knew who I was going to contact. I called when they opened, and found out that he was booked for the next week. I decided to send him a message to see if there was a company he would recommend to me. He actually responded immediately and said that he'd be able to squeeze me in! You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. It's difficult finding people that take pride in their work, are trustworthy, and do a great job. I've had quite a few companies do various types of jobs for me, and there are only two who I'd recommend. Mathew with Puget Sound Water Rescue is one of them!

The night before floor…read morecontractors were scheduled to come to our home, David cold-called us about replacing the flooring. He was able to come out that evening to provide an estimate, which we appreciated and accepted. We later discovered that this visit resulted in an after-hours charge of nearly $500, something we were not aware of at the time. While at our home, David discovered that some areas had not been completely dried by the first company. Because we had an active insurance claim, and with our permission, he immediately arranged for his crew to continue the drying process. At first, we felt he was knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely focused on our needs. Our insurance company requested that a third party inspect and confirm some of the issues David had identified. David insisted on being present during that inspection. The situation was uncomfortable, and we were later surprised to see an additional $119 charge for his involvement. Five days later, we contacted the original company about their failure to completely dry the affected areas. They acknowledged the issue, wanted to make things right, and asked for the opportunity to earn our business back. We therefore notified Green Planet that we were ending their services. Unfortunately, this is when our experience changed considerably. The tone and attitude toward us became harsh and uncomfortable. Although we had understood that the mitigation work would be handled through our insurance claim, we were suddenly told the bill needed to be paid by us immediately. We were also contacted by a collections company and told that if the bill wasn't paid by Friday, a lien would be placed on our home. We were disappointed by the way the situation was handled. Our initial impression was that customer needs were the priority, but once we decided not to continue using the company, we felt the relationship changed dramatically. Our experience is ultimately a reminder to carefully review all charges and understand the payment terms before allowing work to begin--especially when insurance is involved. Updated Review -- Originally 2 Stars We initially left a 2-star review because of our experience with Green Planet during a water-damage situation. We had significant concerns about several charges on our invoice, the handling of our insurance claim, and the way our relationship changed after we decided not to continue with the company. After seeing our reviews, Green Planet reached out to us and asked for the opportunity to make things right. We had a lengthy conversation, they listened to our concerns, and they offered to refund $500, which represents the charges we had disputed. I appreciate that the company was willing to listen and take action. Because they made an effort to address our concerns, I have changed our rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. That said, I do want to be honest that this resolution came only after we had posted our concerns publicly. We had previously tried to resolve the issues directly, including asking the company to work with us while our insurance claim was being processed, but we did not feel heard at that point. I'm glad we were eventually able to have a productive conversation and reach a financial resolution. My hope is that Green Planet will take this experience to heart and improve communication with customers from the beginning--especially when dealing with stressful situations involving water damage and insurance. Our original experience was disappointing, but I do appreciate their willingness to come back to the table and try to make it right.
